I have a habit of picking at my split ends (it made it worse). Idk how I developed the habit. It actually soothes me for some reason. But whenever I found the "tree" I always had a field day cause I'd just sit there, picking at it forever. Well, anyway, now my hair is as healthy as ever.

Exactly. I was trying to get her products a few days ago on her website but the shipping fee made me humble 😂, because it wasn't just competing with the products price, but was way more than. I had to maintain my lane and left the transaction incomplete.

I get them regardless I see a few single strands within a couple months not that bad but by the 4th month they snag a little. I'm going trims twice a year to get more length. I don't think there's a need to constantly keep cutting black hair because it's going to naturally do it's thing regardless it's all about management.
Taper is new growth or growth yet to be cut. If I remember correctly. I wonder if its less vulnerable to damage than a cut strand. Is it naturally sealed but once old /dryer prone to splitting.
My hair had knotted up and I had to do a major protein with a cap on my head for a while to comb it out. Lot of hair came out but oh well. That my fault.
My BFF takes great care of her daughters hair but let's hers knot up consistently. I comb my hair out every couple of days for this very reason. Maybe I should go do it for her 🤔
What brand and what kind of moisturizer though? Cause I’m trying to grow my hair but it stops at a certain point and thins out/splits it’s so frustrating!!
There are many different ways but one you’ll see a lot is braiding or twisting it and putting weight at the ends. I like to use scrunchies at night and take them out in the morning. Anything that stops your curls from compressing leaving them susceptible to shrinkage.

why does it need to be stretched
This reduces the strands curling on themselves and other strands, causing knots that can break when combing.
Because when your ends shrink up, they want to hug as well.
