No, it only takes 1/4 inch off the ends of each individual hair strand that stands up into the blade housing. Kind of hard to explain in a UA-cam comment, but if you watch videos of how it works, you'll understand. This trimmer invention is truly a godsend!

We get new growth all the time, and new hairs will be shorter and the ends can poke out. Those are not split ends. How could these devices know the difference? I doubt they do.

The one you have is NOT the new version of the Split Ender. It is a knock off. Use at your own risk. The original Split Ender is really good.

What about the oil you have to put on the blades??? I’m kinda confused about that but it says you have to put some on before you use this.

I think it will damage your hair in the long term since normally you need to cut hair with a super sharp blade
