Conservative MP Greg Smith asks Communist chancellor Rachel Reeves why she is taking Winter Fuel Allowance away from pensioners, and giving record breaking public sector pay rises, while protecting her friends in the Bank Of England and them not repaying the money they got from UK taxpayers in a bailout.
No, the "working" from home public sector DOES NOT deserve a pay rise to match the private sector. the private sector pays too much the company goes bust. the public sector doesn't have that problem - they just STEAL more in taxes from the private sector.

Be assured there is worse to come. Means testing pensions next. If you have been scrimping and scraping to pay into a private pension you will have to live on that and your pension will go to a freeloader.
@@ianashton4036 This sort of reminds me of an experience years ago when I lived in London. We were very poor as my father was battle scared from WW2. We rented a property from a private landlord and slowly fixed the neglected place up so it was actually quite comfortable. Then the place was sold to the council who very quickly did a rent review based on the state of the property. They thought it was nicely decorated of course and the rent would be adjusted accordingly! My parents were furious but we had the last laugh! We had managed to buy a bungalow out in the country and that by pure luck was ready for us to move into. We set about carefully removing all of the improvement that we had installed over the years and vacated the property in 2 weeks leaving a rather empty property for the council to sort out. Pensions are our right to enjoy if we have been responsible in setting them up and possibly going without other things so that we are not a burden to ourselves or the state. The possibility of being means tested in this area is a typical socialist ploy. I applied for benefit help just once in my life and was turned down for being basically too responsible financially. I was literally told to blow a load of savings so that I may be entitled to benefits! What an absolute clown world we are experiencing! 🙄

Don't be daft. I am a pensioner and thought this would happen at some time. Just surprised it was given to us in the first place. A lot of pensioners don't need it and those that do will probably still get it.

It's interesting that MP's get a £4,500 a year 'allowance' (tax free) to pay for utilities - like electricity and gas - I doubt that will be touched while pensioners freeze this winter.
It's a cruel world.
MPs should NOT get this allowance- other working people have to pay for utilities and pensioners have done all their lives

The trouble with caving in to pay demands, especially where unions are concerned, is now everyone wants a large percentage increase. Up next, more disputes, union demands and strikes. As for pensioners, she could have easily said no more migrants, close the border, we can't afford it. Yet pensioners have paid into The UK system for years and this is how they are treated? I give Labour three years before they are booted out.
Funny thing is if you give these areas of the public sector such huge pay rises, what do you think is going to happen when other areas of the public sector, the ones earning a small amount in comparison and are on the front lines get offered 1.5%, cue the strikes. Labour, what a bunch of blinkered chumps. Oh and going after the pensioners is as low as you can get. Just because they may not be on pension credits doesn't mean they have cash flowing out their front door. 🤬🤬

I was looking at a newspaper item earlier this evening where she was supposedly saying that she could not manage to live on approx over £86,000 especially when trying to pay bills etc.I didn't see anything about her husband's salary as a civil servant being in addition to this.
I was saying today that despite having been In power less than a month then Labour Party are not what it should be.
I hate cronyism.

For years Labour in opposition has been banging on non stop about what a disgrace it is that pensioners have had to choose between heating and eating. We didn't realise that having a choice was the disgrace. Isn't it wonderful that under Labour they have been relieved of making the choice. Thankfully junior doctors, with a 22% increase, won't have to go cold. Their hands will be nice and warm when they treat peoole for hypothermia next winter.

I’m fed up hearing about how they have to make difficult decisions, as if that excuses them. Difficult for them, impossible for those in fuel poverty. We have the lowest state pension in Europe and now this. Is there anything, anything at all that this country does well? I can’t think of a single thing.

For pensioners not receiving benefits, the scrapping of the winter fuel payment equates to a 2.5- 3.0 percent cut in their yearly pension. Shocking.
And it seems her go to excuse from now on to justify even more tax rises, and cuts, is the phrase ‘ the previous government’. I’ve lost count the amount of times she’s used this. Wearing a bit thin already.

Yes it does exist and at the last count in 2017 if was over 14 Billion pounds!
Each year the NI fund has a surplus,ie. the fund receives more money than it needs and that surplus is invested for future use!
