All I use is very small bin collection and most I compost. I don't use any other facilities in the community. I can't afford dentistry have no dr. Have a old neglected bungalow to fix up but can't afford tradespersons. Now will lose single occupancy discount which by fairness should be 50% as half of a couple.
Labour are going to be debating assisted dying soon. Perhaps this is their way of assisting pensioers to drop dead saving a packet on social care, health services and pensions - which can then be spent on illegal migrants and all their union cronies.

I can vouch for that. 4 years ago I got very sick and spent 18 months living off my savings (couldn't face signing on). Fast forward to today and they have acknowledged I may never work again yet I am getting no financial support. I am now trapped for rest of my life on UC. I may as well find a bridge, I cant see what else I can do.

I am a 70 year old widow and do not see why I should pay the same council tax as the family of four adults next door. The main service the council provides me with is collection of my bin once every three weeks. Giving people more notice wouldn’t make any difference to how much money they have. We can complain as much as we like but they really don’t give a damn!

Labour has a long history of introducing policy that hits the least well off the most. The personal allowance was frozen during the entirety of the New Labour years. It was just over £5,000. This hit the lowest paid the most. Schemes like ULEZ, the congestion charge and the fuel duty escalator hit the least well off the most. Labour scrapped 10p tax. Which was paid by very low earners. I could go on.

I’m a 59 year old single man who would also be affected by this. Single mothers also get dragged into this. It’s not just the widowed pensioners, there are millions of people who live on their own. How’s it fair that a household with four or five adults in like my neighbours would pay the same as me!!!!

I’m a single person and plain and simple if they raise my council tax I can’t afford to pay it. I’ve burned through the little savings I had and I can’t afford to pay more than I’m paying now. I can’t even afford what I am paying. They will have to lock me up and I will get my heating electricity and food for free, it’s that simple. All of my savings have already been spent on illegal immigrants, I have no more to give. My council do nothing for me, what am I paying for? To collect my bin once a fortnight?

My husband is disabled and 70. If he lived alone he would be getting pension credit and would get nearly as much as we get between us with attendance allowance, state pension, carers allowance and very small private pensions.

Come Winter, hospitals will be inendated with elderly people presenting with hypothermia, malnutrition, depression etc. Surely it would make financial sense to keep the elderly safe and secure at home rather than the enormous cost to the NHS which, let's face it, is simply not able to cope at the best of times.

My Mum worked from age 14 to age 77. I think she deserves better than this. Luckily she is quite healthy at 96 as I keep an eye on her and make sure her Dr doesn’t give her unnecessary medication. Her birthday presents this year were blankets and winter clothing.

Surely this this would affect all single households, whether rented or owned, young or old.
Its not just pensioners that will lose out , if they remove the 25% single adult household discount, im 52 and recently lost my wife to cancer , im just about coping going from a 2 income house to a single one , but under Starmer & Labour its gonna start being much harder to cope for many of us.
