*Remember to treat people with respect*
U know what they are god tier live can confirm Because they came from the Best place in England which is Brighton \M/ I am glad to hear that they powered on and that they are well; RIP Tom Searle his loss hit me hard too.
I thought you were talking about the soad album
Unless they do reaction videos.
This is what is sorely missed, especially on the internet.
no matter what you think of a band, you never have the right to go and insult them after they have lost one of their band members and best friends
They lost him years ago though.
@@ShitYourself7 so what? it’s still fuckin rude
@@jayayvee_music people have opinions. He doesnt like their current music i guess. Don't need to be triggered.
@@ShitYourself7 doesn’t need to be triggered? Where’s your morals, man. A dude rushed on stage and hurled insults at the band. That’s not having an opinion, that’s being a vile human being
I can't imagine how Dan must feel about this situation, to lose your twin brother to cancer and then have a bunch of degenerates act like they knew him and honor him (while actively shitting on his legacy) more than you do.
architects carrying the band after Tom's death is the most respectful thing they're doing to him
Yes!
Saw Architects in Sydney on this tour. Imagine being a flog when Architects travel half way around the world play for almost 2 hours and 20+ songs with such great energy the entire night. Nik said it best they were god tier live.
No bro, they are not god tier, dont upset them with such low ranking 😂
@@jonasr7693 they are past god tier 👌
@@jonasr7693 Had me in the first half, ngl
@@MaestroKatProductions same
Saw them in sydney too. They were so good!
No band is obligated to make music you like. Period. Art comes from inspiration, and the more honest that inspiration is the better. If you don't like the art that an artist makes, there are hundreds if not thousands of other artists to choose from. And that's not even including the utterly disgraceful and inhuman way some "fans" insult Tom's memory by invoking his name for their selfishness. Tom was not just a guitar player in a band. He was a human being who was loved by his family and friends.
couldnt agree more with this🙌
ive always seen people shitting on artists because they dont make the right type of music, like okay? go listen to a band that has that music and ignore this one
Absolutely no way that is ever acceptable under any circumstances
Saw them the following night in Melbourne and Sam stopped and talked about mental health. He’s such a good human need more men to stop and speak up
I was there at the show when it happened in Adelaide and I am serverly disappointed. It's hard enough for bands to get to Australia and we disrespect them like that. I am so sorry.
During the 3-4 minute black out we all just chanted "fuck that guy" but it's so messed up.
Absolutel insanity... As you said, its hard enough for us to get bands here as it is... That, and how fucking unAustralian to do something like that... Modern retardation is everywhere...
@Jess Piedra I have no idea, but my friend swears he was on the tram the same time as him going to the show and he was well wasted
@@discountpeachesyt dude should've gotten his ass kicked
I’ve never been a fan of Architects, but it’s beyond me that someone could have the lack of humanity to insult and attack someone in such a personal and heinous way. It’s absolutely unbelievable to me. Respect to them for how they responded.
If you don't like them anymore, don't go. These people are so entitled
Saw Them In Melbourne Crowd Thought This Was An Utter Disgrace
I was at this gig and stunned when it happened. I'd heard about the Tom comments before the albums and didn't think anyone would extend it something like this. I'm grateful Dan was not on this stage (he was dealing with some personal things back home so couldn't play, which I 100% understand.) Mad respect for Sam, josh and everyone on stage for performing the rest of the show. They then went into 'these colours don't run' which was the oldest song on the set.
They're respecting Tom's memory by continuing to make music as Architects and not falling apart
People like the guy who ran on stage are hateful scumbags, but Architects completely changed after Holy Hell.
I'm happy to say I was at the Sydney show and the band and the crowd were fucking amazing. Even when Sam talked to the crowd for five minutes about mental health during the set there was so much good feels between him and crowd it was amazing. Incredible live band. Also glad to say that Thornhill were insanely good too, after your recent video on them.
a shocking amount of people fail to realize that musicians are human beings too. to treat a band as poorly as this is absolutely disgusting.
People get treated poorly all the time , musicians or not
A shocking amount of people refuse to believe that once someone is famous, they're still fucking humans. Like everyone wants to complain and be all upset and say they deserve it because they're famous or because someone has a lot of money. Like no. Like I've seen people actually defend paparazzi that litterally hid in bushes at parks to take pictures of the young children of celebrities. That just because they have famous parents (or have had a starring role here or there themselves,) that it's okay. Like I forget who the celebrity was but yrs and yrs ago I remember reading an interview with a celebrity that mentioned how they had caught paparazzi that had climbed the side of theor house and was trying to take pictures of them AND their family ith in the bathroom. And I remember people defend those actions because since the person was famous that they "asked for it." Like no. Fuck that noise.
I think people just forget that others are humans too and are deserving of every bit of respect and grace that's being demanded.
I love architects so much and the amount of time and dedication they put into the shows, albums, and us the fans speaks volumes. After toms passing I though that may be it for them it was one of the most trying times of there lives and I’m happy they are still here today. People need to be better and not be a holes like this one. Respect music and the creators behind it. If you don’t like it don’t listen. Carry on with life.
I remember I had this shitty mindset when Adam Gontier left Three Days Grace and I was extremely hard on the new guy. Eventually I looked at myself in the mirror and thought to myself "Why don't you just find some new music to listen to and let people enjoy what they want to enjoy."
And that's what I did. I acted like a grown up and moved the fuck on.
The fact that this happened in my country is so embarrassing... I saw them play not long after Tom passed and there was a lot of emotion in the air that night. Sam teared up when the room chanted Tom's name. Besides evolving as a band with more new material, have people actually considered some of the old songs might be too painful to play now? How they grieve and honour the guy is up to them, because they were the ones who really knew him.
Man, that catch 22 comment is literally the same kind of thinking that, when a woman gets assaulted, puts part of blame on her for wearing a skirt or some shit. Absolutely insane take
It's not the same. If you're a public figure, it's gonna happen no matter what. That being said, being raped and blamed for what you're wearing is not the same as being told your new music sucks.
@Ash Creek Jfc I didn't say one equals the other, I said it's the same kind of thinking and mentality. These people aren't "trading in their humanity and privacy" for fame, as the comment said. They are simply doing what they love, and it just happens that what they love is popular. How does that mean they deserve to be treated with any less respect to their humanity and privacy just because they make music?
If you don't see how the two relate, not in the actual impact and action, but the state of mind, then idk what to tell you aside from you need to look at things differently, from the perspective of someone who has respect and empathy.
That's exactly right. People who have that mindset, especially those who blame women for being assaulted, are just as bad as the perpetrators.
Honestly would've loved a heart-to-heart talk about mental health during a show back in the day. Often times we forget our own humanity, or refuse to even face it. I'm sure his brother would be very proud. RIP
I really enjoy new Architects. I personally find it great. I also thank the bands I see live for coming to my area to perform because it just makes sense to me. Great video, Nik & crew.
I can think of a few bands where if someone tried to pull off some stupid stunt like that, it wouldn't go as smooth, graceful and mature as this did.
Like the belligerent asshole who ran up on Maynard during a Tool show and got flipped lmao
@@infamousinferno2506 Yup. Or Dave Mustaine kicking a guy in the face before he actually manages to get onstage.
I would've clapped if that guy got punched
I was at this gig in Adelaide it was my first time seeing them live and I hadn't really listened to much of them prior. A friend of mine gave me two free tickets due to a change of circumstances for them and I couldnt thank them enough!, honestly one of my favourite live concerts I've attended! It sucked when that guy rushed the stage and I was in genuine concern for Josh (sylosis is my fave) and the band but they handled it so freaking well and the rest of the gig was absolutely kick ass! Not to mention the awareness for mental health they shine a light on. Safe to say I'm a definite fan now. ✌️
I’ve been a big fan of you and architects for a while now. What happened just made me sad. I’m glad your sharing your thoughts on it
This makes me wanna see Architects live even harder (never seen them live before).
People forget at the end of the day these artists are people, they need to be treated with respect. Dont like the music? Dont listen, simple as that.
after multiple delays, the last show in germany recently with northlane and sleep token was just phenomenal, they even played some acoustic songs and he gave a little mental health speech too. sam and his colleagues are fantastic. keep your silly opinion about how you dont like a couple of the new songs to yourself or keep it online, bands do notice afterall, wether it be comments or less plays on whichever platform.
It's sad that in the same world where millions respect Chester Bennington and Linkin Park, this sort of disrespect also still exists.
Yep , that’s kinda how it works.
I totally get them venting on stage don’t get me wrong I’d imagine I would too, but part of the problem is that if someone had even the most basic level of comprehension skills needed to understand what he’s saying or what’s said in a video like this, just those two minimum brain cells to rub together, they wouldn’t do that shit in the first place
People who pull shot like that are so absolutely braindead that coming at the issue with reason is an exercise in futility because it’s 100% gonna go in one ear and out the other. These people will never change and never go away and there’s always gonna be some on them in any social group. Only thing you can control is yourself and how you let them affect you.
And maybe whoop their mouth breathing ass in the parking lot for talking shit about your dead brother lol nobody would blame them
100%
Hearing that Architects is god tier live just makes me somehow even MORE excited to see them next month. I'm gonna lose my fuckin mind!!
It’s one thing to not like a bands new material and just saying “eh this isn’t really for me” and it’s another to be an outright horrible piece of shit to people who are just trying to do something they enjoy. It’s so disgusting and disrespectful and no one deserves this shit.
Being an Adelaide resident, I'm so annoyed and embarrassed for us that some insensitive flog has had a major flaw in logical thinking, causing this shit to happen. Respect each other.
Average r/metalcore subscriber
Their latest material hasn't really been up my alley (though I do still vibe with it sometimes!) but I will always respect their tenacity to keep moving forward past the tragic and untimely death of Tom. And I commend Sam for dropping fire on the mic in more way than one on this night. Fuck that loser who rushed them on stage.
Musicians and especially athletes getting treated terribly is awful especially in front of them is just awful. Makes no sense why people think they're entitled to treat them sub humanly because they're famous. Just respect each other
I was at this concert and after they ran on stage and the lights were out the whole crowd started singing
HEEEEY! HEY BABY!
(Huu-haa)
I wanna know oh oh! If you'll be my girl!
It was legendary
Yup, said this on the rockfeed video of this matter a few days ago.
It makes me sick they have to keep enduring this.
Very articulate video Nik! Mad respect.
Gonna see them live in Belgium in June, I really don't see why anyone going to a concert would do shit like this. I still think they make great music, never would've imagined something like this happening
Respect for Sam. He´s good tier.
After your stream with Sam and then this there are just no words to describe how wonderful he is
"Mission passed respect+" 😂😂😂😂 I'm dying
I played with these guys in Darlington uk at the Arc when I was 17. over 20 years ago. was awesome.... we were all soo young.
memento mori
Seen them live in Brisbane Australia and they were amazing! Big ups for sam
One thing I can't seem to understand about people is that if you don't like a band, don't listen to them anymore. You make the choice to listen to them.
Exactly
How did the pimple get on stage? Haven't venues figured how to do their job yet
"you'd have to be stoned to not cry" jokes on you, I cry more when I'm stoned.
Shit broke my heart. Some dude at the show in Ludwigsburg in January kept on interrupting Sam in his speeches, yelling for old songs. We were all fucking pissed but Sam handled it like a champ
Regardless if you like their new music or not, disrespecting their hard work and dedication to the band and a deceased member is NEVER ok.
Now before everyone craps on Australia for this; it happened in Adelaide, we hate everyone there too.
Was at their Melbourne show the next night, it was absolutely incredible. Had no idea this had happened, fuckin ashamed of Aussie crowds tbh.
Who the fuck has a hundred bucks to throw away on yelling awful shit at strangers? I can’t fathom having that much hate, especially over music. Fortunately(?) Dan wasn’t there for it, not that it’s not horrible for the rest of them, but imagine hearing that about your literal twin brother. Disgraceful.
That's another reminder what a shit world we live in
Dude that is beyond disrespectful. Well said Sam, Nick and long live Tom. There's no excuse and that's a lite version of what happened to Dime. 🤘🏾
This was so fucked up. I saw all the clips and I’m rlly glad u addressed this
Perfect Blue reminded me that fans can potentially be your worst enemies
And just another reason to like Nik. Thanks for always keeping it real dude. We're all better than this. 🤘🏻
Sam handled that in the best way possible. No tolerance for disrespect
I hate this kind of stuff so much. This is so ruthlessly heartless for no reason.
You wonder if he asked for an autograph while he was up there?
This is just gross people need to fucking grow up, good for Sam being a good dude and speaking up on this
It's terrible what some people think is acceptable.
It's really heartbreaking how hateful people can be, and the internet giving us this infinite access to say whatever we want with usually no huge repercussions has definitely made it easier to be that way. Couple that with the sheer unwarranted entitlement you see a lot of nowadays and it's a recipe for disaster like this. I'm glad Josh and Sam weren't hurt.
I don't like the direction Architects went with their new music, but like, okay? I just won't listen to it. I'll listen to their old stuff. I don't get the rationalization behind creating an entire vendetta against them as people.
Criticism is fair, especially since everything they did after _Hollow Crown_ sucks, but this is _way_ over the line.
Nik could you do a video on the Metal Juno nominations please?
on behalf of other australians we dont condone that dudes behavior
If I was the architects I would of pulled an axle rose and walk off the stage early
Not me looking at the thumbnail and thinking this was about SOAD 😪
That is so disheartening to hear, I am very concerned about humans if they really think this is a way to behave; I feel so sorry to the band
Man, I've seen Architects with Tom, without Tom and with Josh as a new guitarist and it was always aces. I've seen them when they were a small band and the venue had like 200-300 people and I've seen them with thousands of people on festivals and on big stages. I'm an OG fan and even though I do not like their new stuff, disrespecting another human because of it it's just disgusting. Toxicity seems to be everywhere online now and that's sad. Going to cheer up myself with some "Follow The Water" (and I'll probably cry as well).
You are a class act sir 👍
I'm in Adelaide. Man, I would have killed to go to this show, but I just can't justify the expense. The POS that went to the show to say this shit could have given me their ticket and I would have been another adoring fan.
Back in the day i got bullied because of my mom who died when i was 11. It was hell.
The world needs more Sam Carter
I just don't understand why people were booing when he was talking.
As a Brit, I can confirm we do just egg whatever we don’t like😂😂
After things like the Dimebag shooting occured, I would be scared as shit if someone ran at the stage and jumped up there.
Bands should take a cue from wrestlers and just beat up the people who dare try this crap lol
parasocial relationships are also in the vtuber community to the point it gets extreme, for example the whole uruha rushia situation where she was roleplaying the girlfriend role but got backlash and harrassment when she was messaged by the famous japanese singer named mafumafu and to this day when i see her name or vtuber model fanarts i end up getting upset and have to distract myself from the negativity that happened to her
Yeah not to mention that one time Towa got hit with that like two years earlier. Though tbf I guess in Japan it was mostly encouraged of idols to do this anyway so there's that. Pretty sure most of the JP girls don't collab with at least Stars knowing that's usually how it works, although Sora loves the guys and she's the most idol-like so, meh. There was also this discourse when the EN guys came out and with that you, can't excuse it as experiencing a culture shock (for lack of a better term) this time.
Stay Classy Adelaide
I think it's completely legitimate not to like or enjoy the evolvement of a bands musical style, but change and new ideas is THE CORE of music. You can see that within Architects way before Tom's death when you compare the older albums up until All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us...
Like it or not, there would never have been metal or all the "-core" music without bands doing something totally different fromm the Mainstream people used to like.
Listen what you like, but always respect the choices others make (as long as these choices do not do harm to others).
Greetings and rock on! 🤘
I have the opinion of; I'd LOVE BFMV to play Room 409 (one of my all time faves) but I know I have absolutely no right to ask/tell them to do so. For any reason. However, if they did, I'd lose my collective shit and it would be a core memory ontop of being able to see them live. One of my major regrets is not seeing Linkin Park play, so I can't understand how anyone can take a live show for granted or manipulate it to their wants and needs.
We're not going to make it, are we?
At a Mgk concert I would let it slide, but a architects concert.. fuck no
Insane that this is 2023....
Good on Sam.
Damn that's vile 😕 why are there humans like this
Architects are the coolest guys too. Anyone coming at them wrong is just a peckerhead.
I wouldn’t have been at all surprised if they just quit right there.
I totally agree with you
Heard a story about a female streamer who got deepfaked into some corn. She was crying her eyes out when she made a statement. People suck sometimes...
I hate that this is what my city is known for in the scene now :)
I seen them live for the first time back in November when they toured with biffy clyro and I was hoping to see some old stuff as well as new (they only played the new stuff), but they were AMAZING. When I see things happen like this I just want them to write another album like the one they just made or anything that let's them evolve as a band. Not everyone has to like everything a band releases but behaviour like this is childish and pathetic
Man that's so fucked up, I saw them in Brisbane the other night with my brother but I had no idea this had happened. I've not been an architects fan for that long so i don't know a lot of their old stuff but one silver lining is they fucking killed it on stage. Even songs like Tear Gas - which i really enjoy but i know a lot of people didn't enjoy as much - went fucking off. My neck is still sore two days later and holy shit did it feel good to do some power stomps to that song. Felt like i was Isaac Clarke from Dead Space pulverizing a necromorph to that shit
I've noticed that "fans" think they are entitled to do whatever they want to the artist, I've seen What they do to ppl like Andy Biersack, yes he's a beautiful person but The things they used to do to him is Basically SXL ASLT, grabbing his private areas, stripping off his clothes, ripping out his hair.... How do they think that's ok? Artist are PPL human beings 😢
I love Architects, and Sam is such a sweet man. F*ck the guy that did that. The amount of time he swore, so British, go on lad. Hope they're doing OK.
Even if you don't like a band respect their fans who worked to buy tickets and took off work to see a band they love. Let people enjoy what they enjoy life is short and harsh if they dig it let em
I’ll never understand how people feel like it’s okay to do this type of behavior. If you don’t like something (in this case music) just don’t listen to it, or don’t go to a concert. You have plenty of power to listen to the material you do like
Insulting a beloved person who passed is just fucking awful. Entitled people are the absolute worst. I’m not fan of Architect’s new material but you couldn’t pay me to try and pull something like that. People need to learn basic respect. It isn’t hard
I'll admit, the direction they went with their music is so far from something I enjoy, but I'd never treat them that way.
I will NEVER understand why people think shit like this is okay.
Also, "No catchy riffs, lyrics, or choruses"? Tear Gas, Deep Fake, When We Were Young?
Right? Like even if you don't like their new stuff you can say it isn't catchy haha
Makes me sad to see this kind of shit. If a band changes their sound to something you don't care for, just... don't listen? I'll be honest their latest album didn't do much for me, so I just... choose not to listen. I don't go on social media and belittle them, or go to concerts and heckle them, I just... listen to other music and check out their new singles.
They shouldn’t have to deal with it that sucks, but they have put themselves in a position to receive more hate than normal. To go from defining a genre to abandoning that sound and condemning it in interviews for whatever reason does leave is going to piss off a lot of narrow minded people
