I work in waste transport in Australia as a residential garbo, I would love to see the Edison idea put into practice in garbage trucks, I do whats called side arm for those who arent familiar, a mechanical hydraulic operated arm off the side of the truck for collecting bins by lifting them and dumping them into a hopper. Doing stop start between collections and working in dense residential areas of major urban areas early mornings, having the electric capabilities would mean I could service areas quietly under electric power then when I am ready to unload at a waste facility the batteries could recharge off the diesel during driving when I'm away from populated areas.
Many people complain about the noise of our trucks of a morning and we'd reduce the potential for complaints and have instant power for getting moving between stopping effectively increasing our efficiency

Yes, but minor changes maybe. The hood is really big for maintanance, but it is an obsticle in your way of sight. So maybe chop it down 30 cm? Maybe only the front with a grade. Would still have a lot of corners and look cool. And maybe chop the cabin, so that the driver can reach everything. It looks too high, especially when driving solo. Don't change the seat hight or position!

If it can make a significant increase in fuel economy over what’s on the market, you’ll have more sales than you can produce in a lifetime. There are a lot of fleet companies who would replace every truck in their fleet for a 1-2 mpg improvement. That can mean millions of dollars per year ROI. You’re doing an awesome thing here. Keep it up.

With everything being easier to get to and repair, it would also be great to make it easier for operators to make more repairs without a shop. The only types of jobs that deter me from my own work are the ones that require hours or even days of teardown and rebuilding. Those jobs also make a lot of downtime. It should save on brakes to some extent but most truckers primarily use the engine brake anyways so brakes aren’t a real common thing to have to replace. I’ve heard electrics are harder on tires though and tires are way more expensive than brakes. No matter what you’re driving there is always gonna be parts that need to be replaced at certain intervals, tires, brakes, etc. The biggest savings will be fuel prices.

If everything works out, please think about expanding into rig design to haul loads on highway.

Love this company. Just wish you guys had the Tesla name before you know who took it. Thomas Edison wasn't the greatest guy but it is what it is. I wish yall THE BEST

Depending on a Jake Brake on a hill seems safer than depending on some programmer coding in a different Country. If they trusted your company, you would have access to all of the source code as well as programming tools. I realize you are a small company but if you don't have root access, you are not in command.

Yeah, much as I love Edison and what they're doing, those modules are suspect that they can't fix them remotely. Like he said 30 minutes to get them in and out, but that's ignoring they had to send a dude to china on a plane for them to fix them. Of course I know it's because they couldn't find something in Canada and it's just how the cookie crumbles. But hopefully a better solution is found.

Well, it’s like this you see.
My mind started wandering and got to the point where the regen power could over load a full battery and you need to dump it some where.
So I started down the path of feed it back into the generator right?
Then I was thinking the generator doesn’t even need to be running or even enabled as the oil pump still feeds it with no systems on.
So, with a Jake brake you could still have regen braking with no battery or generator.

Congratulations on the successful road test. One problem however: neither of you guys was wearing a seatbelt! Yeah, I know they can be a pain in the ass sometimes but they're required by law and they so save lives.

I love what you guys have done the past few years. Can I get your opinion on the ramcharger comming out next year? Its a smaller version of Topsy for the retail truck market. I hope to get one asap. There is not much updated info for the past few months on that truck that I can find. Thanks guys.

You're truck reminds of the 70s steiger tractors put together by different components, but very uncomfortable.
