Drewsky did an invis guide back then if you need a clearer explanation. I learned my timings by watching my alt account on another monitor.
ua-cam.com/video/d4pVrRQoRA4/v-deo.html
Edit: yeah turns out it’s more like 2 seconds for no radar ping, not 3
Cammy it would be great if you uploaded some raw gameplay with this build
A good build, i admit but it would be even better with bottom tree, bottom tree does not show radar pings when invis while sprinting, being close to enemies and double jumping does show, so you already have an advantage over top tree since you dont have to wait 3 seconds or having to crouch, you can just start sprinting straight away also you have 9 full seconds of invis with bottom tree (instead of 5 on bottom), since bottom tree lasts longer in general, with the super, you can get multiple kills since you have 6 shots (if you actually have good aim with tether), so if you want to enhance it even more, go bottom tree, and on bottom you can be a lurker, i do it all the time in trials, while laughing maniacally, and speaking of wolfs, i use lord of wolfs, you can watch some game of mine for inspiration
Was the account you were playing on that had you getting lower skill teammates have you at a particularly low level for a certain playlist? I know D2 Tracker kind of tries to make some semblance of record keeping the Bungie keeps hidden to a degree, but I've had situations of being low Bronze in Clash just due to not often playing it but basically Platinum and Gold in other playlists like Control and Iron Banner and just overall average enough guy but nearly 9/10 of my Clash games had a consistent stream of low level/new accounts with some occasions more "normal" spread of ability and skill.
The closest I could describe it as is a beta of D2 when there were new people just farting around and like 3 dudes who knew what they were doing and a lot of the games played a bit sloppily and awkward, but again 9/10 games it was feeling like this.
I know team balance and matchmaking is a mess, but I have a theory that there is some hidden record keeping thing that if you randomly just haven't straight up played in a certain playlist forever, the game will deliver you lowbies.
Not advocating any sort of smurfing or whatever and for all I know I could be completely wrong and it was all a coincidence, it's just I never had the game give me such weird lobbies where people were literal new accounts
I love the counterstrike lurker analogy! I used to enjoy trying to emulate that role in season 3 when radar wasn’t enabled in comp, but this is a really clever way to pull it off in the current sandbox
Omnioculus would be pretty nice for comp tbh
Great set up! Can you do similar comp "solo-builds" for the other 2 classes? P,p,p,please....?
good to try out being a lurker in momentum control
@@BryMakesArt omni isn't bad sixth coyote is also slept on
Me: **Gets into a game with Cammy in my team** :D
**Sees him using this build** :(
Yei but nei?…
“I’m helping” intensifies.
Lol! That legit made me laugh. :P
An old trick being used in a new way. I live for videos like these.
Okay, I'll be honest : i mained graviton forfeit since it came out, and i can tell all of you that this helmet is nuts. You can either be invisible to reach your teammates without any problems, or pair it with rat king to make it turn into an invis wormhusk after every kill (since rat king catalyst gives you health upon kills) or pair it with a shotgun/chaperone if you want to turn into a shotgun ape , everything works with top tree nightstalker ofc, and i used to main 100 strenght + 100 mobility and bottom tree to have unlimited smokes whenever I dodge to regain melee energy. Thanks for reading and sorry for the huge text.
FINALLY
SOMEONE GETS IT
I do feel that omnioculus largely rendered I irrelevant though since it provides a more solid generation tool.
Then again I use Graviton on bottom not too since that further feeds back into my invis tool and it lets me feed that to other people on top of multi shot to control space
This in PVE is great, but I prefer 6th coyote for more flexibility and reliability, as well as a tool to increase dps on top tree nightstalker. I can shoot a witherhoard at a major, go invis immediately then dump another right after, and invis again. Now I have 2 witherhoard blights on the ground where I can chill behind cover a bit for my dodges. For dps, I can shoot a rocket with lasting impression, witherhoard for breach and clear, which will debuff for my rocket, and reload it. Shoot rocket, dodge, shoot, dodge, shoot. That is 4 rockets and a witherhoard. Massive burst dps. I run well of light mods, so I can stick something with witherhoard, dodge, then when it dies I pick up a void well of light, giving me damage resistance for 10 seconds, 2x charged with light, and protective light. Overall, insane survivability, insane dps. Thanks for reading.
I've written essays before it's fine.
That Graviton Forfeit buff.
*Mwah*
Gonna be perfection.
can't recall having any issues with invis hunters ever really. I mean visually. and sure, radar diff but still, it's a rare thing.. don't get me wrong, cammycakes here would clean me up with half a mouse and a quarter keyboard, but otherwise no 'invis hunter' has ever struck any fear into me in a survival match :)
I never even knew about the 3 second rule with invis, nor that sprinting put you on radar. This is huge both for me trying to use invis and fighting it. For that alone, thank you
Will second this. I always wondered how I was getting crushed by Invis Hunters. Now I know... :)
i didnt get the rule can you explain more
This was your masterclass in Destiny 2 wrinkle-brain thinking.
Smoov brain wrinkles brain! Hur hur hur! Soooo funnayyy!!!
i’ve used this build for about 7 matches, i can literally see how confused enemies get, it allows a mixture of passive yet aggressive play style. so much fun cammy, thank you for this build, ive been on a 5 streak for some time now
This is dope. It’s unreal how often and how quickly people leave the survival playlist after losing like one duel lol. I’m gonna try this and see how I do 😂
Cammy: uses neutral game intelligently; claps everyone
Also Cammy: uses super intelligently; dies anyways
top tree nightstalker is just like that I guess
let’s be honest that’s how underwhelming tether as a super is
If tether was an average super, like not even good, just average, this class would be so much better. But the super is such utter garbage that it holds the class back from being more competitive
@@slimemonster0381 maybe thats for the best. The hunter can literally GO INVISIBLE. I fear a buff to this subclass would make it sooo overpowered lol
@@yol_nI don’t think having an average supper would make this subclass op. Do you think it’s current neutral game is better than stasis, bottom golden gun, bottom arcstrider, or spectral? Personally think it’s neutral game is as good or worse than those 4, and yet it’s got one of the worst supers in the game
@@yol_n I feel like if Tether activated instantly if the enemy's within radius while still have the same noticeable delay if enemies just pass within it's radius, the whole subclass would just be perfect. Not too crazy, yet not underwhelming. Precision would also be further awarded this way which is already a part of middle-tree nightstalker, therefore this change/buff would feel very organic.
Imagine being so bad a completely random person does a build just to use you
Pain
there are people literally playing with one hand. there are kids, older people that play...i can definitely imagine people that are not good, just because you are a moron that thinks a video game is everything, doesn't mean things don't exist. not everyone is a long bearded virgin that plays destiny all day long lol get over yourself.... Imagine engendering bad matchmaking... would be a better comment.
@@apeship mad cause bad lol
@@apeship imagine getting offended by a joke man I miss when people weren't snowflakes
@@apeship what?
I prefer double perpetuation sixth coyote, you can be invisible for either shorter or longer and you get most of the first dodge back after it ends
It says double dodge but comes out as triple
Bruh how tf do I get you, it’s hard sorta getting you
@@idontknow4687 I sacrificed 5k shard to our dark lord Rahool and got one.
I really like sixth coyote for this too, but i think he uses graviton forfeit because of what he explains at the start of the video where you get 3 seconds to sprint and jump and stay off radar. I think graviton forfeit gives you a bigger window for that. It's pretty confusing though
@@CharinVZain bruh lol
@@plasticmonsoon You are confused. He explains concepts of invisibility in general at the beginning. Graviton Forfeit has nothing to do with that, it just gives barely longer invisibility and charges your melee ability faster.
I have been trying to solo queue Unbroken since season 6 (the season mtt came out iirc) all because of this channel. I was that one blueberry in the back of the map with skyburner's oath not too long ago, now I have a 5500 run under my belt and a few scattered lighthouse runs. All of this probably wouldn't be possible without this channel and the commentaries so thanks for being a great player and even better teacher Sir Cakes. Keep up the awesome work.
When he said I decided to make a build based on bad teamates, I thought he was going to use Vigilance Wing, since it heals you upon teamates deaths.
WAIT! I used to do this back in Y1/Y2!
I still do. It earned me the nickname Ghost because I would appear and disappear on a whim. I hate that nickname (because it's stupid generic), but it's stuck.
Radar is Destiny's strongest tool... you make it untrustworthy, and people tend to make mistakes.
My experience too!!!!
Yea this was the og build back when everyone was grinding for redrix. I think I still used wormhusk instead of mask but radar manipulation was huge for setting up flanks in 4v4.
Very underrated build but I wish Bungie made invis make some kind of sense. Like atleast get rid of the "for 3 secs you're still on radar" bug.
@@AvocadoBondage Being on radar for that long after going invis pretty much forces you to use Graviton Forfeit just so you can actually get some use out of the invis timer, which is pretty lame.
I been doing since d1
generic, perhaps, but thats still a badass nickname
that intro is preaching to the masses. I hate getting comp games where im either the only one getting kills and not feeding the enemy team or the only one left in the match. Awesome vid cammy.
I just came back to Destiny 2 after a long break and I am so happy to see that you’re still making phenomenal D2 content! I know you mention the haters in your comments sections a lot, but I hope you realize that for every one hater there is a large group of people that enjoy what you do so much. Some time ago now, your commentary allowed me to understand the thought process of a Legend-tier D2 player and rise to the challenge of attaining Not Forgotten; you are an inspiration to so many and a brilliant player, thank you for doing what you do!
That was awesome! I love the cleverness of using disadvantages as advantages. AND THEN, you turn opponents advantages into disadvantages! Manipulating the players psychology is such a cool mechanic to use in a match. Awesome vid cammy!
i absolutely love seeing people building a whole class with a goal in mind and trying to perfect it. i remember doing something similar back when stasis hadnt been nerfed, i made a stasis warlock with the most toxic aspects and fragments that basically made me able to freeze most efficiently and also gain back charge for my abilities and super quicker. i went as far as to make sure i could freeze as much as possible, getting seekers from snapshot grenades and then making more seekers appear ones i shatter someone, and even had my rift be able to freeze which i def got a hang of the range for it (its like double the radius of the rift itself lmao, but you cant do it behind any sort of object)
I played against someone doing kind of similar tricks with the warlock blink helmet. He wasn't doing radar trickery, but he was using the insane mobility to avoid being caught out and he'd just force 1v1s until everyone was down. The blink helmet made him more slippery than a stompee hunter, because he could blink from cover to cover in cases where a stompee (or even invisbile) hunter would get gunned down. He also turned a long range map (Widow's Court) into pretty much whatever range he wanted to engage at. It was very frustrating, but also VERY impressive.
Your description of your teammates as walking dinner bells gave me a genuine laugh. Thanks, Cammy.
As a solo player who struggles to succeed in Comp, thank you for creating a build that is relatively simple to use and understand.
I used it this weekend and had lots of success with it.
Enjoy the content and keep up the good work.
Great vid Cammy. This is the exact philosophy I've taken to solo queueing ranked in any game. I do my best to play around my teammates. I support them. I use them as bait. I let them go first. And I basically play of the mistakes and poor positioning of both my teammates and the enemies.
It's honestly the best mentality for solo queueing I think.
I do this exact build with OmniOculus. It give you damage reduction and two smokes which works really nice for spamming smokes and confusing people.
thank you thank you thank you, youve shown me the light, i can finally go back to maining hunter and as an added bonus youve given me a reason to use the coolest looking exotic in the game, cant wait to match this with the 2019 solstice armor
Cammy my boy I have been using this build forever and it is amazing. The validation I feel in seeing someone like you rock my favorite build, tree, AND exotic is....it's just beautiful.
"the ping on the radar becomes a little bit transparent..."
Me who plays on 60% render resolution: well fuck
iirc render resolution doesn't scale interface
It's hard enough to spot at native resolution.
@@coltwalker8688 true. It does change if you change your over all resolution tho. Either way you are right.
I love the Cam brings us hunter builds that are more than just Stompees. It has so many other roles.
This is such an awesome video. I'm a top tree nightstalker main, and I honestly had no clue that 3 secs after going invis you're completely off radar. I feel like you tapped into exactly what the devs were thinking of when creating this subclass.
Cammy, you single handedly keep bringing me back to Destiny 2. You're awesome, thank you, and keep doing amazing things.
The is like the extreme version of baiting your teamates, more like sacrificing them lmao
Cammy, I once tried a hunter build that I called "my team dies a lot" where I used Vigilance wing for my main weapon and Aeon gauntlets (lol) to constantly get my dodge back so I could use bomber/outreach/dynamo etc very often if I wanted. If you're interested, I would love to see you try it since you're much much better than me. More of a 6v6 than 3v3 build
Hahahaha love the name
watching cammycakes guides is like trying to understand poetry
Okay, he literally just explained to me 3 times what he did and I’m like “wtf just happened?”
I believed I played TT NS with you the fee times that I did. By far one of my favorites. Frostees are my go to for this so I can chain invis and have multiple smokes up.
Throw them wherever your teammates don’t run to, and then stay behind with a sniper invis to cover lanes.
The smoke nade also works wonderfully to fake pushes.
On tight maps, you can combine this with gemini jesters at the cost of more smokes to throw the smokes somewhere long enough to trick them into thinking someone’s waiting there, then go for the blind so they can’t easily discern the smoke is fake. I’ll usually put the smokes in ridiculous places like on ceilings so they can’t be seen.
Good video cam. I havent played destiny in over a year but i still always watch your new vids, very entertaining and informative!
Fantastic video on my all-time favorite subclass tree despite shifting to a warlock. These videos are so big brain and so incredibly valuable for top tier guys, while people like me can marvel at your ability to just be a walking death machine
Thank you for this vid! I've been telling my clanmates this for ages. I don't have the response speed that I used to and have been playing this way since forsaken. Gemini Jester is also a great pairing for this playstyle too. People have no idea how to play without radar which works really well with smoke bombs to increase tricking shenanigans. Its how initially got my NF way back when.
sorry, I'm just excited to see you showcase a build that I've been rocking forever.
TL;DR - This build teaches you to play smart rather than relying on twitch mechanics.
Yoooo what's good this grind is a blast every season
This was exactly how I played in d1 and early d2. Class has been strong for a long time. My comp mentality is that I need to be a force of nature far better than my opponents because your team will rarely step up. This build is a perfect example and way to play that style. Awesome highlights
yesterday I used the stag and crimson on bottom tree stormcaller warlock, all weird picks for freelance comp, but I had a lot of heals and rifts and the arc souls were hella nice. Being supportive was cool
this man out here playing ninja chess while we play ape checkers
I've been using this build for YEARS with a bow. The top tree smoke grenade is in my opinion the most useful tool, it can be used for so many things. Top tree tether is PACKED with incredible neutral game utility.
I always used Top Nightstalker as a kind of patient hunter.
Go invis, and wait.
Pull out the Sniper or the Scout and wait for the prey.
But using it as rada manipulation is amazing, never would've thought about that!
I love you cammy!
Cammy, please try a sojourner's tale with fluted barrel and threat detector, as it maxes handling and you can abuse the 15 meter heads up for dodges. That should be on your slug vs pellet review.
One of my fave builds you've done. And you put it to use in comp. Awesome.
Dude, I thought I was crazy because this exact thing keeps happening to me! I usually don’t but too much stock into builds and mods and what not, but I am now! Thanks Cam!
Some random person calls team trash = "quit blaming the team maybe you're the bad one"
Content creator calls team trash = "god cammys so amazing he has to carry so hard :O"
Thank you for this Cammy. People tell me I'm throwing when I say I use top nightstalker in comp for the radar manipulation neutral game. You explained it all very well.
You’ve inspired me to *religiously* use Khepris in the past, now you’ve done the same for this.
A year or so ago I used kind of the opposite strategy to hit max rank. I was stuck between 4800 and 5000 and it was just one step forward one step back. Every game was a 50/50 so I decided to play support. Running a double healing grenade Warlock I started buffing my Teammates mid-fight. And they in turn started winning most of the time. I even had some hilarious aggressive well plays along the way. It got me that last 500.
Maybe still a good suggestion especially if anyone here finds they have similar or lower mechanical skill than their Teammates.
That first image is a prime example of why I haven’t touched comp since acquiring Luna’s howl
Glad you put this out. Before stasis, I always ran invis NS for comp. I’ll need to give it a try again. I really enjoyed pairing it w/DS but that GF looks so dang good, too
My brain is way too smooth for this
The first minute and 23 seconds already has me in tears 😂
Cammy I think that bottom tree nightstalker is one of the best subclasses for aggressive players to carry because of how broken heart of the pack is right now with gamblers dodge. I think you should really look into the subclass it’s super fun.
this build truly embodies what it means to be a hunter
This intro is why I haven't gotten unbroken yet lol.
This is really a really freaking cool idea! Do you know if there's any other options that screw with radar? I've only been playing for less than a year so the only other options I'm familiar with are Rat King and Assassin's Cowl.
Would love to see more cool build vids in this style Cammy! :)
Gemini jesters take away your enemies radar when you dodge.
Geminis also put a flash-kinda blinding effect on your opponents screen for a quick sec…but also takes away radar as nathan says. Omniocoulus gives melee energy back when making team invis ans also second smoke…so with right use you can almost always be invis on bottom tree.
Wow, this is my EXACT load out that I’ve been using in survival for the past couple months. Really caught me off guard seeing cammy’s video start as he explains the exact load out I have
That teammate analogy with the hungry wolves was spot on
Brilliant, loved your take on this build, my favourite way to play, I change exotics based on teammates and map, but always look for a way to manipulate the radar
100% agree. I played assuming my teammates were potatoes all the way to 4800, then I started to be a “team player” assuming they could hold her own, and lost 1000 points.
Been maining invis hunter in comp for quite few seasons at some point, works great with dragons shadow since you constantly dodge anyway
Freelance comp

I disagree I have unbroken and ive never done team comp ive only solo qued just carry ez
@@fluffy5156 it’s harder to carry when ur teammates feed 3v1s all game

freelance comp & freelance ironbanner are the only things keeping me playing D2. Love it. ❤️
I use a build like this on my hunter but instead of Graviton, I use Gemini Jesters. I remove their radar and after I get a ping where they are I throw a trick smoke behind or in their general area to take their attention and then clean up the confused player. The Invis helps in finding a position to throw a smoke from or take a fight from. I’m in a 1.7kd bracket not sure if it works too well in top kd brackets.
Bet those people who said behemoth is dead are eating their words right now. This weekend in trials the icy, inmost light titans were unstoppable.. lol. Great video duder.
THIS is exactly what i think of when i think of hunters. Super powered space ninjas 😂😂

No it isnt..

@@lerambothe1st You say that like it’s bad a thing lol. Trials is straight meta, so fairly easy or at least straightforward to win. Same thing with comp which, in my opinion, has more skill. Casual however has a variety of guns and is a lot more enjoyable, with very good players on either side
I used to love invis strats, but stopped using Top Tree tether due to how the Super never stopped Super in time for me... This gives me the courage to try it again, but better this time. Thank you, Cammy.
Cammy takin' 'em back to D1 Halloween 🎃🤣
This is fantastic. Hats off Cammy.
Hey cammy I love your videos on builds and was wondering if you could do one with top tree arc on warlock. I love the chain lightning but I can find anything that really synergies with it
This might be my favorite video. Definitely going to try
People used to call me crazy for using top tree void for my hunter..this is exactly why. I can throw off the other team just by using my positioning AND I’m more of a lone wolf player so I can run off and hunt on my own. Love seeing other people using this, and breaking it down for those who aren’t as familiar
I use this build with le monarque. It's so easy to poison the hell out of enemies when you're invis.
Another day another cammy masterclass
for the first few years of playing destiny 2 all i did was run 100 mobility with sixth coyote to invis dodge every few seconds and it was definitely overpowered
Been doing this for a long time. Welcome to the radar manipulation team Cammy!
I've been crafting a build almost exactly like this. The ONLY difference is I use the Sixth Coyote instead of the Graviton Forfeit, the reason being that I actually like having my Dodge for fights, and not having it for mid-fights due to using it for stealth seemed off to me, and Sixth Coyote basically solves that problem. I can stealth in to a fight and still have a Dodge charge for when things get bad.
I just started playing with this build, and wow. It blew me away, super, super fun to play. And I'm a Titan main!! (Que Shaxx Laugh) Ecspecially after the graviton buffs. Chef's kiss Cammy.
big think. love how versitile you are at the game. i think i'll try something like this next time i feel masochistic and go into comp solo.
cammycakes how to bait teammates 101
Thanks for the vid Cam, I recommend trying this build with Rat King. I’m pretty sure that Graviton Forfeit invisibility buffs applies to Rat King invisibility.
omg thanks for the invis i had no idea that i had to wait 3 sec before im off radar
bruh that intro is my experience in crucible lmbo im like some people have no business playing crucible lmbo my wife saw a player literally run the other way from a easy kill to the point she said “isn’t he supposed to shoot that guy?” i was like yes queen yes he is smh
Me as your teammate: I’m a fine ass looking burger!
Ive used this combo for so long im actually surprised more people didnt cover it sooner
Cammy, I am addicted.
Your stat splits are Nuts. Love the insight as well
I do something similar to this with Sixth Coyote. You can use your second dodge just before invis runs out to extend the duration.
Finally a video that explains the invis/radar window. thank god
I’ve mained top tree Nightstalker since the beginning of d2 and I think it’s an underrated class.
Top tree Nigthstalker is the only class that increases crouch speed, which is kinda cool, and being able to manipulate the radar while going invis and having an enhanced radar is very strong.
I run a Ratking build- low recov, max mobility, 6 resilience, and low strength. Ratking grants regen and invis after reloading on a kill, and can three tap at .67 seconds with high energy fire. I also think that strength isn’t really necessary if you can dodge near enemies with gamblers dodge, but that’s just me.
All in all, top tree Nightstalker is pretty fun and top tier in my opinion- invis and radar manipulation is very strong.
This build looks incredible, and I can only imagine how cracked it will be with the invis buff coming to graviton forfeit next season.
This is very similar to one of my old Hunter build, it's a lot of fun chaining grenades and smokes with the dodge refreshing them
Another good solo build for Comp is Bubble with a 120 and Helm of Saint 14. Swap to Saint when you have your super, always place it right in the middle (you do need to get their first) and two tap *anyone* in range. Add killing wind in the 120, rampage too and you have a 1 head 1 body hand cannon you can map teams with. Your blueberries will flock to the bubble, I mean why wouldn’t they want the big shiny thing that gives them health? Obviously, they can wait you out but no one has that much patience for a fourth of a comp round. Don’t sleep on Bubble, that thing wins games
You should try it with sixth coyote.... Been my build for a couple years now. Bomber and impact induction..... Both Dodges proc bomber and potentially get two smokes back and they both proc impact induction.
What about gemini gesters or sixth coyote. You could also use rat king too.
Wonder if sneak bow would work well with this
