Thanks again to everyone who’s watched even just a few a minutes to this video. I never expected it to gain this amount of traction and I appreciate all the feedback and comments. I was thinking about possibly making another video soon, and while I did mention Scabretti, investigating that didn’t lead me far. A few options I had thought of were a Forsaken DLC Retrospective, a video where I try to piece together the Lost Original Story of Destiny 1, a video about Halo’s storytelling, or possibly another iceberg. If you want to see any of these ideas made real or have a suggestion of your own, please let me know. Thanks again for the support.
Preadyth was found to be dead in the vog. This is a story in destiny 1, I just played that mission. There was some taken vex explody thingy that you had to kill. And Ikora narrates the mission, and once you have found him she says that you have(paraphrasing): "In a way he lives once again" and says she will put him in the records
40:00 VoG reflections are about the reflections being shown on scopes of certain rifles, I don't remember if it was a technical glitch using an ancient render probe or if it was on purpose
"Felwinter is the only non-human guardian" was not a typo. Felwinter was Rasputins "consciousness" put into a exo frame. Since the 3 guardian races are all based on humans, i.e. Awoken being former humans caught between light and dark, and Exo being human minds put into robot bodies, Felwinter being an AI makes him the only Guardian who was not originally human.
@@confettiandsadness2046 you misunderstood that lore tab. The ghost sees a dead dreg he feels the light in, but it turns out there was a skeleton behind it of a human
Yeah that makes enough sense, the only issue with that is the person who datamined it only found it at the start of Season 11, almost a year after Shadowkeep launched. Considering that data miners were pulling files since Season 9 I find it unlikely that nobody found it until June.
@@yungsteveharv hey guys!! if you go up to where the iron banner was in the tower in destiny 1, and stand right in the middle of the little pond up in that courtyard, stand very still and you will hear it pitched up!!
The “Killed By The Architects” message not only is a joke about the Dev team killing you because you died to their physics engine, but something that was left out is that it’s a callback to Halo where when killed you would receive a message saying “Killed By The Guardians” The architect in Halo lore (and correct me if I’m wrong as I’m not too versed in it) is essentially the Floods decider on which planet they are going to colonize and destroy next. Essentially, Bungie Implemented the “Killed By The Architects” message as a reference to the “Killed By The Guardians” message in the Halo series.
Imagine if "The Architects" are the player characters in Bungies new "Matter" game, and in that game the new "Killed by the" message hints at Bungies franchise after Matter.
The Architects are actually literal things in Destiny, in the Volume 3 Grimoire anthology there's an entry where the Darkness is drawing Clovis to Europa with the notion that he would 'join the Architects'. "Your fears will be assuaged. Your legacy, secured. Your mind, immortalized. *Join the Architects.* They will speak of the name Bray then, and it will echo through time and space. The way is clear. The first step is for you to take. Or you can beat your head against the wall until nothing remains but a bloody stump. At least then you'd leave a stain behind." The Architects are real.
I believe that the “Mass Graves” is in reference to that you NEVER see a recent graveyard, the only ones you see are golden age or pre golden age, so that’s speculating that all bodies are buried in mass graves. (Except Guardians)
why would we see a graveyard from after the collapse? They would likely only be in the Last City and we only ever see areas of the last where it would make no sense for there to be a graveyard. Maybe there should have been one for the farm but maybe it was of on one side of on the cliffs.
Actually in the Truth to power part: once the Dungeon was confirmed to be completed by a guardian at 999 light, Savathun actually made an appearance in the next TWAB stating that you shouldn’t always believe what is written, or do, because it’s more fun that way.
@@syveenwolf No one should have expected anything to happen tbh. The power level 999 thing came from Truth to Power, a lore book made up almost entirely by lies, written by the god of deception.
@@eduardojuliolasso9344 it's actually cool imo. Shows how much detail they have with savathuun. The fact people are mad is stupid. If im not mistaken the lore book even said dont believe eveything it says.
@@cerebralassassin2185 I agree with being mad at Bungie for this is stupid but I understand why people were upset. They were expecting to break the curse and find the 15th wish, only to get no closer to their end goal. But cmon, it was Savathun who wrote that entry, put 2 and 2 together
There's a really good subreddit thread about our Guardian being the 15th wish. The gist of it was someone wished for help strong enough to make a difference for Humanity. An Ahamkara bone was nearby and made it so our Ghost conveniently found us shortly after.
@@yungsteveharv would also explain how canonically our Guardian has done a flawless run on everything, as in story wise we've never been felled in battle. Also the conversation between Zavala and Banshee about Ruinous Effigy and how it eats Light of the user. Banshee states that we apparently have so much Power/Light that we haven't even noticed it.
@@kloudkuromeshi do you have any source on that flawless thing? the way the players act in game is canon, so, if we die all the time in game, we die all the time in lore.
@@10001vader I don't have a source, but it makes sense when you think about darkness zones. There are spots where our ghosts can't rez us ingame and when everyone wipes, we get that "your light fades away" which we all know is Destiny's version of a game over screen. So canonically, would that not be akin to a final death? So that's why I think our guardian hasn't died.
god i love the horror aspects of this game. the K1 team, clarity, the crying, the earth monsters, aphelion, nezarec... i hope witch queen dives into a few of these themes
Reminder that they just hired a guy that previously worked for capcom on resident evil games, as well as the wild hunt armor lore tabs hinting at monsters in the Old Chicago capable of killing entire fireteams, amd since we are likely going there in the witch queen you might get your wish granted
@@ghostnest3042 man that sounds awesome. Destiny 2 has hit so many great themes but barely has delved into horror, only sort of getting its toes wet with the Presage mission
@@ready1player31 unfortunately, Destiny literally cannot dives into the horror genre, because of its “ESRB” or Pegi 16 in Europe, that symbol at the beginning of every trailer. They cannot show “adult” themes like drug, sex, swearing, blood etc. That’s the reason, they legally cannot dive into horror too much. The best they can do is something creepy, unsettling, like Presage, or basically every times the Pyramids are involved. Bungie is really good at making “creepy” moments in their games since Pathways into Darkness, and I really think that with The Witch Queen and Lightfall (and the dlc after), dealing with characters like Savathun or the Darkness itself, there will be other creepy moments. But don’t expect to go deep into horror, because as much as I’d LOVE an horror game set in the Destiny universe, they can’t unfortunately. Who knows, maybe one day we’ll see a spin-off... or a book, or a comic...
@@davida1229 so.... we can have our guardian shoot Uldren dead (though off screen) but delving into horror and showing blood is too much? We literally shoot the heads off of Eliksni and Cabal yet blood is too much? I hope the rating changes tho, scene's like Caiatl throwing the psion to the ground would benefit so much from it
@@DakkaSolae yep, that’s how rating works. When you shoot a Cabal in the head, you can’t see any blood whatsoever, just some gas or something like that. Cayde and Uldren both died off screen, so yes, they DIED, but we don’t see anything _too much_ violent. Unfortunately, I really, REALLY doubt they’ll change the rating. I think that, legally, it wouldn’t be easy to do something like that for a game that already launched. It’s dumb? Yes. But it’s how these things work. Who knows, maybe with “the next saga” of Destiny...
We also know that Katabasis (the dead guardian in Presage) saw the true form of Calus, he is a Cabal but he's so old and withered that he's only sustained by tubes and kept in a cage of sorts to keep him alive
Praedyth’s body was discovered in a heroic mission “Paradox” this is also when we learn of his fate. Praedyth is not a myth and his transmission or message was detected coming from inside the vault. This is when you would go into the vault in the mission and fight through Taken and discover dead ghost that would play Praedyth’s voice talking about the vex. The only thing known of Praedyth’s death was that he was sealed In a room for his bones to be discovered centuries later as the ghost says they are. There is evidence in the vault during that mission that would indicate that there are timelines where Praedyth is still alive and that Praedyth saw the Exo Stranger in every single time line.
I remember this mission slightly and it makes you think about how weird the areas like the vault and the pit on the moon is. Its cool to think about and how op our guardians are since we could have ended up like eris or praedyth.
Praedyth is forever lost in the VoG, afaik the vex allowed his call for help to exit the vault bc the taken had invaded it. The vex can simulate everything, except paracausal forces like the light and the darkness. This means they couldn't fight the taken and win, and Praedyth's voice was a way to lure guardians into the VoG to kill the taken. After that we found his bones
I dont know if anyone else has said this but theres a really popular theory about the 15th wish, basically it goes that the 15th wish was the one Riven made when we killed her. She put a curse on the dreaming city so that she may never "truly" die. Thats why the raid is called "The Last Wish", the ending of the raid was the 15th wish. The ending cut scene even explicitly says she made the wish.
By the way the mass graves (as far as I know) is in a lot of hive areas there are like giant piles of human remains and nobody really knows where they come from.
going through the source iceberg and seeing “venus wyverns” is funny as shit now that Vault of Glass is back in D2, now starring wyvern majors in some of the encounters
@@calebbennett9788 the hive are literal millennia old. There’s no way they’d be able to convert war moons and conquer to feed their worms on such a scale in 2400 years
16:50 This one is especially interesting, considering Saint-14 voice line mentions this sword as "Their (the guardian) favorite weapon" and that you were wielding it during your final battle. Implying we might recieve that sword later, possibly in a really important moment of the story (Looking at you Witch Queen)
@@thinkingboi9508 I REALLY doubt the guardian will die. Sure it might be a nice way to clean the slate again but I don't think too many people would be happy to lose almost a decade of progress. Plus on the developer's side it would be an immense task to fill that void.
@@polarisu7317 I actually am astonished that someone gives a shit about GG. Like most titan mains were sleeping on GG when they won and sleepings on this one too. 18:13 WE don't trap her in stasis, the pyramids rejected her and the shard on her wrist froze her. In the cinematic where she tells the one person to "ready the body" you can see the shard freeze her arm
Due to the sword logic, she was rejected by the deep and consumed as a worm consumes a failed thrall. She was proven weak compared to us and we reaped her strength from her loss
Literally everyone is infected by Savathun now. Osiris, Eris, Mara, everyone in the entire city, the Drifter, Shaxx, Saint-14, and every guardian that played the game in the past year and a half.
I'm surprised the vid of the dreg shouting "it's the darkness!" when the guardian comes isn't in this vid. When I was younger it made me think a LOT about who the true villains might be
26:37 I remember a while back, when installing updates for the game, a piece of D2 concept art was shown where Guardians are at a parade. There were several Titans and one Hunter, and all of them were wearing the starting armor from the base game. I think the first Solstice of Heroes also had a quest mentioning that a parade of Guardians was supposed to take place shortly before Ghaul's invasion.
The Aphelion description is scary, and they're scary because they're supposedly very hard to kill, but the oracles are the most scary to me. They can erase you from existence, as if you were never there, and everyone forgets you even existed.
This is a bit late, but there's actually a really interesting theory about the first fireteam to enter the vault of glass that puts this into perspective. The theory states that the reason there was only a three guardian fireteam that entered the vault of glass instead of the usual six that enter a raid is that the other three were wiped from the timeline completely by the oracles, leading us to think that only Praedyth, Pahanin, and Kabr were the only ones to enter, when there could have possibly been more.

About Eramis, she lost control of her stasis powers and was frozen by it. If I’m remembering correctly her device was clearly damaged in our fight, but she tried to use it anyways. The fallen don’t use it quite the way we do since the ghost acts as a better intermediary to safely use it. Because if that, the power turned in her.
I like to believe that the Darkness itself “killed” her. Because her device was damaged, yes, but the frozen started in the feet, which is strange imo (the area around the device should have been the first to be frozen). We defeated Eramis with the same “weapon”, and so the Darkness has completely lost interest in her. The Fallen cannot be the final shape anymore. I think this is also a reference to Ghaul death. Ghaul was killed by the Traveler, and Eramis was killed by the Winnower, for different reasons of course (both died screaming with their hand reaching out towards the Traveler/Pyramid)...
Wasn't she just a mean to an end, for the darkness to come to us and she was disposed of when judged useless? If I remember correctly in the final fight cut scene she turn to the pyramid and says something but I can't really remember
@@davida1229 Actually, if you look at the cutscene, it starts at her hand, and she looks down at it in horror at first. She then turns to the Pyramid, and basically begs it to help her or something like that. As for the Final Shape, i believe its already been stated that it is the Vex.
@@Vuldovyol4912 Mmm I’m pretty sure the hand is the last thing to be frozen, but I could be wrong. I’ll rewatch the cinematic... But no, the Vex are NOT the Final Shape. They were the final Shape in a universe WITHOUT light and Darkness, without paracausal forces. The Vex are the reason why the Gardener decided to change the rules. They can’t be the final shape. They think with simulation. They can’t simulate Dark and Light. So, they LITERALLY cannot even attack us, since they can’t think about it. The Vex directly attacked us 2 times: the first was with the Sol, but they were corrupted by the Winnower, and the second is in this season, but Savathun is behind this actions, not the Axis Vex. That’s exactly why The Winnower is here. The Darkness think that WE could be the Final Shape, and its testing us. The Winnower gave to Fallen and Guardians the Darkness (stasis) as a power, and the Guardian won: the Fallen have lost, and so, they can’t be the final shape anymore. The Vex already lost, in the black garden. The Cabal too are out of the Winnower vision, because of the triumph of Xivu...
The crying audio imo was probably just early work on the nightmare audio on the moon. They all sound terrified and some make some unintelligible noises, so it could be that the crying was meant to be something you hear before getting close to one before the patrol dialogue actually kicked in
also iirc the awoken are human but just are the way they are because they were transported to the distributary when the light and darkness collided when the collapse happened
17:09 Inside the D2 version of VoG, you can look through the Vex portal in the jumping puzzle and it shows the Whisper mission location, therefore confirming this theory.
This portal was used in the alternative ending of a quest in D1, giving more information about Praedith and things that happened in the Vault. I think it was related to No time to Explain. It leads to the future of venus in that case, if you're wondering.
I’m pretty sure “mass graves” is referring to the to the memorial of the red war, which serves as a grave to those who died during it, seeing as many people and guardians were lost or killed. This is just my speculation though, your guess is as good as mine.
I think I remember something about a memorial the vanguard made and someone was criticizing them for only making an obelisk and not even remembering the names of those who had fallen
@@yungsteveharv I just looked into it. Mass Graves seems to refer to the massive piles of human bones that you can find in Hive areas. It's unknown where these bones come from, especially in places where you would not expect to find massive piles of human remains
Praedyth died long ago. There's even a mission where you go into the vault in search of a signal. And you keep hearing him speak. But as you get to where he thinks he's free you find his bones laying on the ground.
Shin Malphur didn't infiltrate the Shadows of Yor, he created them. After he killed Dredgen Yor he basically had an epiphany about what was the reason behind Yor's rampage, and also why he let himself to be killed by Shin. He understood that the true power to destroy our enemies is to use both the Light and the Darkness, but you need to not be corrupted by it. He also helped Drifter with the creation of Gambit, under the false name Zyre Orsa to draw out highly corruptable guardians to kill them to avoid them turning like Yor.
The books of Sorrow actually happened tens of thousands (if not millions) of years ago and Dredgen Vale (Shin Malphur) is the one who created the Shadows of Yor to root out the weaks amongst our ranks
Well he obviously heard it from shaxx anyway so its not like shes doing any harm. explaining it to him is probably the best thing she can do since being aware of it should prevent him from repeating it unknowingly.
She knew we and Drifter already heard it because of Shaxx. She sings it and he recognizes "that would be the one!" But if you notice, she even hesitates to sing it in the first place. She says "does it go..." And then then silence for like 2 seconds before humming it.

I really feel like you glossed over the creepy darkness creatures lore pieces. Because when the traveler was chained in The Red War campaign, the drifter's team felt it. He killed all of them, as he had promised to do so if they ever raised their guns at each other again. He then spent fucking ages wandering that god-forsaken planet until his Ghost got tired of his shit and told him how to harvest all of the fallen guardians' ghosts for parts to get the hell out of there. And it's supposed, if I remember correctly, that tech is what is used for the drifter's famous banks.
To be more specific on "creepy darkness creatures lore pieces" this is specifically referring to the gooey shape-less creatures drifter and his team experienced. They all but lost it out there, and he's the only one who made it out. He spent an entire year (iirc, again) finding all of the fallen ghosts, and when he went about upgrading his ghost, his ghost had to shut down completely, basically. Meaning if he froze to death (all of his team had died hundreds of times due to the cold. like we're talking -30 deg or more), as he had a thousand times or some crazy fucking number, while he was doing those upgrades, we would never have seen drifter. He would have been lost to time. That's where he was the entire Red War. Light years away holding onto life by a thread. One of the scariest things about those creatures is that you could never tell when they were around. You'd just....be dead. Your ghost gone. Poof, like nothing.
@@elizabethvaux4420 Well some of them you could see some you couldn't. I also thought those mote banks were given to him by the nine? Especially with those creatures that could be anywhere just turning off your light
Correction on Taox: While most Krill only lived ten years, the mother morph has a longer lifespan, and Taox was, additionally, placed in a stasis (not the darkness kind) only to be discovered by a coalition of species that who then lost a protracted war against the Hive. It is not known what happened to her after that, just that she was never found. The Hive locked in Crystal in the Crucible map is instead assumed to be the mate of Alak-hul, the Darkblade Oryx imprisoned after his attempted uprising, whom the Guardians of the Last City eventually slew.
@@venom8771 usually what devs do is have recorded emotions to put into backgrounds of cutscenes. That way they don’t have as many loops to jump though if somebody has an idea for the mood of a cutscene or DLC, case in point: shadowkeep
Six guardians went into the vault of glass Kabirs team had six, the lore of how the Oracles and templar erase from time implies three of the team was erased so definitely they never even were part of the lore. That golden cyclops is definitely a developer's test area. A lot of games have small areas way out of bounds where the developers place enemies or items to make sure everything functions properly. They probably intended to use the Precursor Cyclops in the Infinite Forest, in front of the portal to the past during that strike (but placed normal ones instead by accident), since you see a bunch of precursor goblins in that spot as well iirc.
@T. O. you are partially correct . Shin was born and named "Shin Malphur" he assumed the name D. Vale and created the shadows of yor, it is a way for him to see who might stray to far from the light and fully fold to the darkness. Finding weak and corruptible guardians and either helping them alter their course or ending it if need be isnt the only reason he founded the shadows, also to help guardians use their powers and navigate the hard times ahead they would face with the light and darkness because everything isnt always so black or white like people think.
41:05 now with the Nefele-Stronghold being mentioned in a text at the end of the Exotic Glaive Quest, it might hopefully be a part of a quest in the future, so we can finally explore it.

Yeah that’s another one, I totally forgot about it but just listening the Destiny 1 soundtrack it comes up quite a bit, and it’s even the first thing you hear when listening to the soundtrack. Definitely from the ‘Music of the Spheres’ which was the foundation set for the whole OST by Martin O’Donnell and Michael Salvatori.
Inner light (d2 y1 title theme) could also be considered a recurring leitmotif, appearing multiple times in year 1 and even appearing in Riven's theme (phase 2)
The “Stranger’s Ghost” isn’t a ghost which was confirmed by a developer. The devs said they thought of an idea for people being able to have one but didn’t say anything about us actually getting one as of yet.

Mass Graves most likely refers to how in the Dark Ages Guardians died in mass quantities unprecedented before and so there were bodies everywhere from guardians dying and being resurrected so they needed to put the bodies somewhere.
I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this, but there is different and very interesting reason why Felwinter was called “not a human”. Unlike any other guardian, Felwinter was not an awoken or a human, neither was his mind transferred into an exo frame like the other exo’s. Instead, Felwinter was actually created by raspution. Raspution was one of the first fully fledged AIs at the time of his creation, as such he found himself having a hard time figuring out his place in the universe. He struggled with his order to protect humanity when he concluded that he had no understanding of what it meant to be human. We was to smart and to vast to compare himself to a mortal. As an experiment, raspution created Felwinter. A similar AI to his own, but rather than being connected to thousands of miles of processors and artillery across an entire solar system, Felwinter only had a processing power roughly equivalent to a smarter than average human. He then sent Felwinter off on his own to explore humanity, and used his thoughts and feelings to give himself a perspective of what it felt like to be mortal and human. When the collapse happened, Felwinter died and was later resurrected as a guardian, because he had no memories people simply assumed that he was just some stock standard exo, but that is not at all true. Because of his past, Felwinter is the only AI guardian. Every other guardian is either human, awoken, or exo (humans who had their minds moved to artificial bodies). In this way, Felwinter is the only non human guardian.
Kinda disappointed there was no mention of the OG dataminer, megamanexe4, after the seeing the mentions of Ginsor and AnontheNine. For those unfamiliar, megamanexe4 was a Japanese member of the r/destinythegame subreddit back in the *very* early days who was able to view the armors (and maybe weapons? Can't remember) from Dark Below and House of Wolves in-game long before they were added in, but perhaps was more well-known for being able to datamine Xur's inventory days in advance. Eventually, Bungie countered his Xur fortune telling by making all of his gear he sold show up to dataminers as the Exotic sniper No Land Beyond, instead of what was really on offer. As I said, kinda sad not seeing him mentioned here along side Ginsor and Anon, and all the other deep cuts. Still, good list regardless, nice trip down memory lane.
18:56 Aren't the BoS billions of years old? They were going around genociding planets for millions of years in the story of BoS itself. So it can't be 2400 years.
Joyeuse was referenced in the Black Armory puzzle, Niobe Labs. One of the puzzles/riddles refenced the jewels on the hilt and scabbard of Joyeuse. Also, Charlemagne has been in Destiny. He was one of the Warmind fragments, that worked with/against Rasputin prime.
25:35 Felwinter is indeed the only non-human Guardian. The Exos were human minds implanted into robotic bodies, while Felwinter was a subroutine of Rasputin that was placed inside an empty exo body. He was never originally human. He is Talos.
My friends and I played D1 and D2 all the time until we graduated and drifted apart. So much fun but became more of a grind than I cared for in a video game. This video was a fun nostalgia trip, thanks for making it!
25:41 Actually, Fellwinter really was the only known non-human Guardian of all. That is because he wasn't a normal Exo, he was a Exo body created and controlled by Rasputin to understand humanity more closely and interact with people more properly. So yeah, Fellwinter wasn't human at all in any of his lifes. Now it becomes a little confusing if Fellwinter and Rasputin were one and the same, if Rasputin let Fellwinter has it's own free will or how was the relationship between them. Why that? Because when Rasputin explains what he did to Fellwinter and the Iron Lords, he refers to Fellwinter as his "son", something that raises a eyebrow about how they would see each other.
"The helmet stays on" wasnt them insinuating they hooked up. They both had something in common and came together over it with some amount of tenderness towards the topic.
Wait…. Wasn’t there a live stream tied to the 999 light level, where upon completion Bungie tweeted out an audio clip of savathun calling us idiots essentially?
Honestly one of my favorites. The whole soundtrack from Forsaken makes me wish I could relive the first time experience of hearing a lot of these dope songs with their huge moments attached. Especially Watchtower during the Vault encounter in LW.
@@nataliecameron In the Felwinter's Lie lore tab, it gives us the idea that Felwinter was from Rasputin as he is part Warmind. With Lord Felwinter being the only Warmind Lightbearer, we can assume that it was he was from Rasputin in the beginning.
3:47 Technically Cayde could return. With the release of Beyond Light we got to explore the Clovis Bray facilities on Europa, and they look like they’re still very much operational (even after we crashed a space station into it). There is a slight possibility that a backup of Cayde could be found on the expansive servers. Even so, he would be a lightless exo with no memory of his life as the Hunter Vanguard or anything before that. Still, this would be very similar to how he would be had he not died and eventually got rebooted (just without light). On the topic of his light, there is a very slight chance that he could become a guardian again, we’ve seen regular people granted the abilities of the light (I’m talking about how Shin Malphur became paired with Jaren Ward’s ghost after he was perma-killed by Dredgen Yor using Thorn.)
Mass Graves probably refers to the massive losses of life that occurred in extremely short amount of times during the Collapse. In a few lore tabs and with Henrietta’s lore book detailing the Collapse, it is noted how quickly the Collapse struck the Sol System, a group of Seventh Seraph members were on a routine munitions transfer assignment when they received a distress signal from Titan, and were subsequently given orders to hurry up, and in just an hour or so after that order was given, storms flooded the Earth. Given the speed of the Collapse, and given that the Last City was a small and simple refugee camp at first, we can surmise that potentially billions of people died in the first days of the Collapse, and billions more before Zavala managed to reach The Last City(before it was called The Last City). Since there is no specified time at which a Ghost must revive a human before, it can be assumed that some Ghosts found their other-halves in mass graves, and those guardians woke up surrounded by corpses and skeletons of humans rotting or having been rotted away.
24:20 I find this controversy infuriating among the Destiny community. The truth to power lorebook was long confirmed to be a bunch of lies and probably savathuns trickery, so when the 999 power challenge happened I found it dumb that people were actually mad about it
Dredgen vale was a founding member of the shadows, shin started the shadows for the purpose of training guardians to tempt the dark and culling those who fell to darkness. It was not him infiltrating the shadows.
About the ghost fragments: ghost. It reminds me of one of bungie's old ideas in the expanded halo lore found in the books. It very much describes a forerunner shield world, a place like an expanded Dyson sphere, held outside normal reality in slipspace. In halo it too is described as having a fake sun, undetectable from the outside, and having an interior multiple astronomical units in size, with diverse life. I'll need to read through Glasslands again to try and find hints at a potential "password". The similarities are uncanny.
I think the 'parade intro' refers to a concept art showing a parade happening in the city just before the Red War. In this parade, all guardians are shown wearing cerimonial armor that happens to be the same we use during the city invasion from D2 vanilla.

The “Killed By The Architects” message not only is a joke about the Dev team killing you because you died to their physics engine, but something that was left out is that it’s a callback to Halo where when killed you would receive a message saying “Killed By The Guardians”
The architect in Halo lore (and correct me if I’m wrong as I’m not too versed in it) is essentially the Floods decider on which planet they are going to colonize and destroy next.
Essentially, Bungie Implemented the “Killed By The Architects” message as a reference to the “Killed By The Guardians” message in the Halo series.

There's a really good subreddit thread about our Guardian being the 15th wish. The gist of it was someone wished for help strong enough to make a difference for Humanity. An Ahamkara bone was nearby and made it so our Ghost conveniently found us shortly after.
That would be a good way of explaining in canon why our specific guardian out of so many like it has accomplished so much.
@@yungsteveharv would also explain how canonically our Guardian has done a flawless run on everything, as in story wise we've never been felled in battle. Bungie is really good at making “creepy” moments in their games since Pathways into Darkness, and I really think that with The Witch Queen and Lightfall (and the dlc after), dealing with characters like Savathun or the Darkness itself, there will be other creepy moments.

Idk about only veterans knowing this tbh. I killed both and then learned about it after i beat the red war.
@Frankdeenuts yeah
I let mithrax Live but boy was that point in the game awesone
I truly forgot that the fallen captain in the Titan adventure was mithrax that’s crazy dude...I really miss Titan man it was such a vibe destination

Watching this in season of the seraph makes me realize how much the destiny community knows about future events. Holy shit.
watching this in season of the deep, they know too much about the future.
Here’s something that you may or may not have noticed: in season of the undying the Amunkara skull above Shaxx produces an oily black mist around it. I thought I was seeing things originally but when I read the lore that Savathun popped out of that thing and sang to Shaxx it now makes a lot of sense

The scrapped parade intro comes from the concept art for D2 it shows all the Gaurdians taking part in the first solstice of heroes, this is still a canon event even tho we dont see it thus explaining why at the beginning of vanilla D2 we don't have our weapons and are wearing the ceremonial parade armor
Finally someone else who knows about this! I call those sets the parade sets and everyone always asks why or doesn't know what sets I'm talking about.
And yeah that would have sucked apparently Drifter and his team went years freezing and starving to death just to be revived and repeat the process.
There is another Leitmotif used in both d1 and d2. "Guardian" is used during most raid boss themes, often when the boss music gets the most intense
Ha I wondered if someone would point this out
"no pvp team" references bungie not adding new crucible content since forever ago and being bad at balancing things
The crying audio was likely for the moon ghosts in shadow keep
I agree. The nightmare patrol givers on the Moon have a similar sad and panicked sound to them.
From what I've heard the only issue with that theory is that the audio was found like a year. before shadowkeep
@@venom8771 usually what devs do is have recorded emotions to put into backgrounds of cutscenes. That way they don’t have as many loops to jump though if somebody has an idea for the mood of a cutscene or DLC, case in point: shadowkeep
I've never played Destiny but deem it necessary to comment for the algorithm - this is so underrated.
Six guardians went into the vault of glass
Kabirs team had six, the lore of how the Oracles and templar erase from time implies three of the team was erased so definitely they never even were part of the lore.
Three ghosts in the paradox mission with no guardians, and a few other small implications make that the scariest part of the lore imo
Scabretti was one of the radio voices from the red war campaign.
22:22 it also plays during the Sanctified Mind theme from Garden of Salvation's final boss.
The Dredgen in the drifter cutscene is just some random dredgen not necessaraly dredgen vale
@T. O. you are partially correct .
Yeah I'd be shocked if that was Dredgen Vale cuz that guy in the cutscene fucking died
41:05 now with the Nefele-Stronghold being mentioned in a text at the end of the Exotic Glaive Quest, it might hopefully be a part of a quest in the future, so we can finally explore it.
At 48:58 about the Osiris eye in the cradle I think it was a very very subtle hint about the real Osiris having disappeared and savathun posing as him, as revealed in season of the lost recently
56:35 what about the “traveler” leitmotif, you can hear it in the traveler track in destiny 1 and when you kill templar and atheon in vog
@@yungsteveharv music of the spheres was another rabbit hole lmao
There's also a motif for oryx
Inner light (d2 y1 title theme) could also be considered a recurring leitmotif, appearing multiple times in year 1 and even appearing in Riven's theme (phase 2)
@@bingusaerospace Death Sickle. Why won't you drop for me?
The “Stranger’s Ghost” isn’t a ghost which was confirmed by a developer. The devs said they thought of an idea for people being able to have one but didn’t say anything about us actually getting one as of yet.

I’ve always liked the anomaly/k1 artifact lore because...well I mean first of all it’s cool but also: each time I go into that map in any form of pvp I go insane and have an existential collapse, whether it’s because of the artifact or because of the amount of shotguns in the current meta especially in that map
Mass Graves most likely refers to how in the Dark Ages Guardians died in mass quantities unprecedented before and so there were bodies everywhere from guardians dying and being resurrected so they needed to put the bodies somewhere.

"A gaurdian once espared my life" - Mithrax
This quote pooped up in my mind when i saw that happen
I wish the alpha lupi puzzle could’ve been mentions on this, one of my favorite things about destiny but almost nobody knows about it
I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this, but there is different and very interesting reason why Felwinter was called “not a human”.
The entry "vog reflections" is a box map for Dig Site 4, located within the Nexus Strike. Although similar, it isn't waking ruins.

Felwinter is indeed the only non-human Guardian. The Exos were human minds implanted into robotic bodies, while Felwinter was a subroutine of Rasputin that was placed inside an empty exo body. He was never originally human. He is Talos.
THIS IS SO UNDERRATED GOOD GOD
Randal the Vandal was also brought back in Shadowkeep, sometimes he'll spawn in Sorrow's Harbor, just as tanky, simply named "Nightmare Reaver Vandal"

The truth to power lorebook was long confirmed to be a bunch of lies and probably savathuns trickery, so when the 999 power challenge happened I found it dumb that people were actually mad about it
Among us
The parade intro was shown in some concept art when D2 is ready to start but still downloading.
Dredgen vale was a founding member of the shadows, shin started the shadows for the purpose of training guardians to tempt the dark and culling those who fell to darkness. It was not him infiltrating the shadows.
I love the creepy lore to this game I hope bungie implements that more into the game
I love how one of The Drifter’s names he’s been called is Todd, like his VA, Todd Haberkorn
Really brought me down memory lane. I wish I could go back to 2014 and re experience destiny 1 vanilla for the first time again.
When you do the puzzle for the vex mythoclast catalyst in D2 VoG, you can see the Whisper Mission from the portal in VoG. Pretty much confirms the suspicion from 17:30.
