hi it's Nixon from zip scanners today I wanted to do a quick overview of the TRX-1 software kind of show you around navigate through some of these tabs and explain to you basically what to do what they do and what not to touch so when you open up your software the first thing you'll notice is this screen these settings on the left and on the right here are things you don't need to touch the default settings are already set correctly I would only recommend playing with them if you're an advanced user otherwise you don't need to worry about them as I showed you the previous video updates here on the top this is where you would do your updates pretty self-explanatory I don't play around with this advanced but much I don't think you need to it's set up ready to go this is where you can copy your configuration to a scanner memory card and this is what we did earlier in a previous video I selected the prepare scanner memory card for SD card use that's how I programmed my counting and you can do the same on file here you can start create a new programming open old ones and we'll just delete all ones you don't want anymore here set this description we did that for Hennepin County I believe for the last video but I wanted to go over briefly what these tabs are when you program things specifically on you name them here you go to the library import and you've done this picked out your counties imported them a really cool thing you can do is check to see if these frequencies got it in here by clicking on this scan list tab as I look through I can see that within jenissi county here it was imported correctly see these conventional channels here under the type as I go down there are some trunked or talk groups also so I know if what I want to hear is actually in here this is it so I like the scan list tab it's pretty cool they also break it down even further into just conventional frequencies and trunk to radio systems in here so that's a quick overview of the software so that I wanted to really kind of go over if you have any questions let me know feel free to email me at Nixon at zip scanners calm thanks a lot
Do you have or can you make a video on how to program a multi site system on the WS1098 using a diff scan list for each site, using EZ-Scan? I cloned my WS1098 (that I got recently, used) from my WS1040. But come to find out that the WS1098 can't cycle through several sites all in 1 scan list, like the 1065/197's can.
This will be something we'll look into but we do not have a video specific to this request. You can also reach out to our tech team so we can try and figure it out together.

how to do something to improve the scanner and listen to phones
There are several differences between having a physical scanner & listening online/apps including:
Online/apps come from someone in your area that has a physical scanner setup to stream online. This really limits what you can hear & you're dependent on others' keeping their feed live.
During emergencies online/apps are shut off. This happened during the Boston Bombing in 2013 when all online/apps were shut off for several days.
During emergencies, online/apps are web-based & require power to work. So in the event of a natural disaster like a hurricane online/apps will not work.
Usually, online/apps run on a delay so they are not really 'live' feeds, but rather delayed feeds.
Online/apps are great for getting folks into scanning but they are very limited & those that get into scanning buy a physical scanner so they can hear a lot more & have control. This is where we come in:)
