I like Roberto's questions. I'm sort of new to this. I have a Whistler WS1065. I know how to program it and that's about it. My local city went digital 2 years ago or so, so I would really like to purchase a TRX-1 so I can get P25 & other frequencies that have gone digital near me. I don't know much about talk groups either and what they are and how to program them. I'm assuming the TRX-1 picks up all frequencies, unlike the WS1065 I have now. And that when you program the TRX-1 using this software you it does all frequencies besides digital. Maybe a Scanner 101 video, haha :P I like your videos. I will probably be purchasing at TRX-1 off of your website. Do you recommend the TRX-1 or 2?

The area where I am went to Digital about 3 months ago. I was broadcasting to RR for almost 4 years I believe. I am going to get a scanner, probably the TRX-2. Before I bite the bullet I'd like to know if you can tell me whether the TRX-2 will pick up what we use now or if a less costly model would work. The software is a definite plus though. I live in DeSoto County, MS, would like to know if I'll be able to buy something to pick them up. Thank you!

When I upload info to the TRX-1 how do you get the "Scanlist-xxx" to read fire or police? they all read scanlist. is there a way to do this on this software? thanks!

Great video. Question on the TRX 1. I bought a new one and loaded the update and did more frequencies for my area and working great. Then it just stopped and goes to nothing to scan. I went back to import again and same thing . What happen??

Thank you for the Tutorial, I think? - So when adding a county to your sd card you should "Format" it? When it was done "Formatting" it was "asking" what you wanted on the SD card, you replied, "I want it All" you then seemed to UNSELECT ALL the check marks and checked "your county" only, That's how to select all?? I'm confused.

The WS1040 Whistler's only handheld phase 1 digital police scanner radio. The WS1040 is an updated version of the very popular GRE PSR500 which was rebranded when Whistler acquired GRE in 2013.
Zip Scanners This is not a Whistler update You didn’t understand my message. New Whistler software version NOW being downloaded is 3.1. The Library Update in the 3.1 version is totally different than your video. The rest is the same. Your videos are very helpful and well done. I just wanted to point out that this one is outdated. Either that or I downloaded an old version because mine is certainly different.

Great vid, easy to understand. Thanks. I was going to go with the TRX-1, but with all the research Ive been doing, and although its so tempting. I decided to not buy a scanner anymore, in a few years all of this will be dead in the water with encryption so everyone is going to have $500+ paper weight for a few years of joy. I know Im a kill joy. But I just cant see me justifying the cost when its going to go away. The govt can move slow most of the time but for some reason they seem to be moving really fast with this communications stuff. Maybe one of you can make me see the light... Cheers!
Thanks for the dropping a comment here; glad you liked the vid. Encryption is a threat but I think you may be overestimating this. Several areas that went encrypted have gone back to unencrypted including Las Vegas PD due to all the issues of cross departmental communication issues. So while this varies GREATLY depending on where you live, typically it's very expensive to move to encryption and hard to justify the costs. I spoke with an EMT friend where I work, he in turn spoke with a friend at our nice new super 911 command center where I live, told him they were getting ready to go encrypted. I asked him if he could find out when, Im still waiting for that answer. But I keep dogging him so Im hopeful I will get an answer soon. It never seems to amaze me when these little rural towns can get the big toys before a lot of bigger cities. LOL. Let me know more of your thoughts. Cheers!

@@Zipscanners1 I do hope so, Purchased a Whistler TRX-1 from you guys with upgraded Antenna with one county programmed (Love it!), now want more but want to use the software, it is a bit confusing (using different micro SD card for practice so I don't mess up the one you guys programed for me)
A few tips for all those who are about to try this: 1. Buy a SD/micro SD card reader. Formatting the microSD while its inside the scanner will take a lot more time. 2. Download SD Formatter www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/sd-memory-card-formatter-for-mac-download/ use that first, and then use the EZ Programming to format again before you copy the data into the card. 3. When you start a new configuration, choose the CDAT (default) file. 4. When you copy the files to the microSD, leave everything checked (to copy) and click on "Copy Folders"

You have to edit that in EZ-Scan. Just go to your scanlist and edit the names.

i do this and put the memory card in my scanner & it says "nothing to scan"... what am i doing wrong?

I started a new configuration and included 2 Scanlists but when I copy it over, only the latter one shows up. Why?
Make sure that the enabled is check so that it will copy over.

This video doesn’t work for the latest version of this software from the Library Import on. Are you planning on updating any time soon?
As far as Whistler scanner updates, you'll have to contact Whistler for that information.

This only applies to a very few areas in the US, but yes - kinda done there.
Your video hasn't been updated for the latest version of the software!! Screens don't match

A few tips for all those who are about to try this:
