This is the first firearm I have the new shooters who come out use, and it's the one I get the most questions about how to get one. My uncle, blind in one eye and failing health, tried it, loved it, bought it, shot it, enough to get a 3" group at 20 ft. He raves about it and thanks me for introducing him to it. 🍻 +1 do recommend.
Thanks old man (I'm 51😂😂) for the video. I'm Irish living in Ireland, but I did live in california for 7 yrs and have shot lots of large calibers, 22lr is still my favorite and I shoot every day. Eley Sport 50 box here is about 9 dollars a box. 6.5 creedmore is about 3 dollars per round. So .22lr all the way. Thanks again Pal
The minute I got my first TX22 years ago I knew it wouldn't be my only one. Thankfully I stopped at two, but now that there's a compact it'll probably be 3.
i got my tauras tx 22 couple years ago,let the daughter shoot it she loved it so i bought her one.i love rimfires my other one i like is my ruger lcp2 lite 22lr,i actually carry that one with cci velocitors. and yes im a young 73 year old lol.
I'm late to the party again, but I have the standard TX22 and absolutely love it - so does my wife. Very accurate and only 3 ammo related failures out of about 600 rounds. Unless you're in competition shooting and need a thousand dollar tricked out to the max target pistol, you can't do any better than a TX22.
Taurus made a great job in the design of this family of 22's. I almost can see competitors buying and studying the design of this gun to try to understand how it is so reliable! hahaha
@@TheOldFatDadGoober hey! nice vídeo! By the way, Taurus showed here the 10 mm version of the TH at Shot Fair Brasil 2023, there is no release date in Brazil. Who knows, maybe they'll launch TH 10 in the US first? 👍👍
Thanks for your video. The TX 22 compact changes the landscape of 22 semi auto pistols now going forward. The look and design make it a great first gun and for accomplished shooters a great addition to your collection as well. The 13 round magazine fits flush but the TX 16 round magazine also fits although it stick out of the grip somewhat. The cutout for a optic is ideal for older shooters who eyesight is not quite what it use to be as well. The TX 22 compact also comes with 2 `13 round magazines or 2 10 round magazines if you don't live in a free state. The price is also quite reasonable with a estimated street price of $315-350 and Taurus offers a lifetime guarantee as well. 22 LR ammo is still fairly reasonable and a pack of 325 22 lr rounds can be had for as little as $20.00 or less if you shop around on line. In comparison 325 rounds of 9mm ammo would be over $ 80.00...
i absolutely love mine, saving up to get the red dot for it but 1 thing i do not like is how much play the barrel has and you can feel it wiggling a bit when you screw the suppressor on, makes you think theres no way it can be accurate but it is accurate lol, im assuming it isnt tighter so that its easier reassemble and dissassemble but i wish it had a lil tighter lock up just for peace of mind
I want one of these. I bought a 9mm as my first gun and I don't train as much as I should becaus I never considered the price of ammo. I have heard nothing but good things about the TX22 where I may even consider the Compact as a EDC, but at least something to get me training.
My gun came with a none centered barrel (sits very low) so any suppressor added cause drag on the slide (wear marks and malfunctions). Sent back to Taurus, they put 26 round through it none suppressed (knowing already that it functioned with no suppressor, and that it only had issues when suppressed). I called after receiving the pistol back and was told that if it functions without a suppressor, they don’t care and will not be fixing anything. I had high hopes that Taurus was starting to turn around from the terrible company they’ve known to be in the past, unfortunately they are still the same company.
Thanks for watching! Fortunately (or unfortunately for my wallet) I don't have any affiliation with Taurus. Just my opinion on a gun I picked up with my own money.
Hi. Do you have hiccups when you use suppressors on your TX22s please? I've got a few TX22s. One Competition, three regulars. The Competition has quite some hiccups (feeding problems) with my DEAD AIR MASK 22 HD suppressor, while the regulars have much fewer. Sometimes the slide doesn't go all the way back. Therefore the slide goes forward without catching the rim of the round. So the slide pushes the round down instead of into the chamber. But when I take the suppressor off, all the pistols shoot well.
Thanks for watching! I haven't had any issues with the two models I have. I've used a 22 and 9mm can on both. Have you kept the internals well lubricated?
I have news for you buddy...you ain't that old or that fat. You have good taste in rimfire pistols. I am very happy with my TX22 compact. Great ergonomics, nice and light, looks great and shoots great. I got mine for under $220 with the distressed flag logo on it. Plus Taurus has a bonus...3 more mags until the end of the month. Can't wait till my can arrives.
A thought -- if you're into very quiet shots, the shorter barrel may bring standard velocity rounds down to subsonic speeds, making silenced shooting even cheaper and easier.
@@BuckeyeBallistics I'd never heard that, can you point me toward any conclusive evidence that a suppressor can increase velocity in a meaningful way? (PS I'm not trying to be condescending, I'm a fan of your channel as well, I'm just curious)
Thanks for watching! If you're shooting for fun and sport, and going to be adding the suppressor no matter what gun you're shooting, then the shorter barrel is nice because it makes for a more "compact" package.
I absolutely love my TX22!! It's my EDC, over my shield 9mm. Only flaw i found so far is mag cycling rounds. Apparently it's a common issue. One of the magazines doesn't cycle well. Simple fix, clean the mag. Since ive done that, i haven't had any issues. It will shoot every brand i put through it. I've had it for almost 2 years now and shoot it quite often. I've even started taking it on squirrel hunts, this year.
I think it is a great EDC over compact or subcompact 9mm. With tx22 you can lut so much rounds accurately on target in split seconds. Speed and accuracy > power.
I have the TX22 and just like it. I'm not wasting time clearing jams as I do with another22 pistol at the range. Lots of fun.

absolutely correct to recommend 22lr as a first handgun chambering. my recommendations are either a ruger sr22 or ruger super wrangler.
