This bike doesnt give *zero FXS*
I get it!... I get jokes
He missed his opportunity for a dope thumbnail and title with this
This bike gives zero FXS*
Love your pfp
Nice
If electric motorbikes stop motorcyclists waking me up at 7am every morning that's a good thing.
not good
Bikes are loud for a reason.
Yeah nobody can hear this motorcycle on the road, it's only a matter of time until you get hit by someone switching lanes.
7 am? Really?

I'm FINALLY able to watch this. Didn't wanna watch it before our little excursion. Excited to put my First Ride out of this little guy now!
11:08 one disadvantage of a silent bike: we can hear you fart 🤣
Maybe he should start his on Motorcycle Club.
"S.B.D. M.C."
Silent, but deadly lol
8:38 'whatever floods your boat, man' xD
Haha I'd love to get my hands on a Zero and see how it does in the nasty stuff :) Very little maintenance, tons of torque, custom power delivery, and silent. The range on those things may not be road trip friendly, but it is definitely enough to have a really fun day in the badlands!
Man I'd watch the heck out of an everide electric review!
eveRide ADV absolutely Tyler! (My name is Tyler too hehe)
Zero FX! Man that would be AMAZING! GET A tester everide!
I've been waiting for an eveRide Zero review! You gotta ride one, they are more fun that you'd think!
Really wish Yamaha would get off their asses and release their electric dual sport they've been teasing for 3 years!
Hot swap battery keeps it light (keeping your other battery at home charging). The larger config, just has the hot swap pack equivalent built in at double the battery weight. Similar to carrying the spare battery with you.
All eBikes are likely to have swap batteries eventually and a standardized configuration from Panasonic. Therefore the "gas" station will have a rack of charged packs. Like they do in Taiwan now. However that will be the same price per mile or higher than $2.00/gal gasoline. Convenience and other people serving your needs = expense.
Cost per mile now. This is like a 200cc bike so gasoline in eco riding would be $2/gal at 100mpg or 2c/mile. Home charge is 2kw x 5 hrs so probably $1.40 to $2.00 for 100 mi so 1.4c to 2c a mile.
Parody now, but easier operation and maintenance than a gas engine. Easier storage for a city apartment, as you can bring it inside like a bicycle. No fumes.
This was so informative thank you
When a car doesnt realize youre there so you rev it, oh wait...lol
I've had cars lock eyes with me and still merge while rev bombing them. Pipes do nothing to the stupid sheep. 😂
Gayy
Oh you mean the horn?🤷🏿♂️🙄
You got a horn
electric Bose speakers for the exhaust LOL
Why did you leave out the cold start
Tom. L some people just don’t get it🤷🏻♂️😂
How can some people be that stupid... ITS A JOKE
Vectrum r/wooosh
wooosh
Why? so the Oil can recirculate through the Batteries :D he he he h
blows stop sign right off the bat lol
No wonder our special forces use they, "completely blacked out" while using gen 3 night vision to execute certain missions where stealth is the key. You could get away from anybody that would be chasing you as long as you know the area and all the paths and walkways, washes, parks, golf courses, etc. and you have a helmet equipped with night vision. You would be nothing more than a wisp in the air and all the noises of the vehicles pursuing you would drown out any noise of your tires on gravel and such.
I am hooked 100%, just to ride it around and enjoy myself, of course.
Thumbs up and God Bless
I have an electric bike, and its amazing how quiet it is. I often find myself surprising people. I can go anywhere. I just know that no one is going to hear me coming, and even then, they won't know what to do if they don't like me being there. I move to fast for them to do anything about and i don't have to stick to roads like a car. I can go up on sidewalks or grass or anything. I feel unstoppable.
omg i thought it looked so familiar then when you said you just moved to Georgia you confirmed it hahaha i live right around you man
If my complex had an outlet, I'd already own one, FX/S or a DSR with the L2 option. The silence allows you to poke around in places without drawing any attention too because people don't know how to process a "silent" motorcycle poking along in places where they would complain otherwise. Poking around back roads or in neighborhoods etc, you don't draw any attention.
U S Special forces are already Field Testing All Electric motorbikes.
Those Alta bikes are torque monsters. I think like 125ft lbs.
That point to the wow motorcycles sign was oddly perfect.
Hell yeah. I love the first ride videos
With almost 120 miles range and 8 hours of full charge I can't think of many people outriding this thing.I think it would make an excellent bike for many riders .My only hiccup is that it looks unnecessarily futuristic. If they made it a little more badass,I'm sure it would do good in the sales department considering the high price and the fear of change that many people have.
You can get a quick charger which charges the bike in 4 hours, the quick chargers are also scale so you can use multiple at once to charge the bike in about 2 hours. Digninow also makes a supercharger which charges the bike in about an hour to an hour and a half with a level 2 charger.
@@VeganGains I wouldn't trust a guy with your name. I might have to search this information myself.
@Rata 4U congrats? You spend 10 bucks on gas while whoever charges this thing spends 10 cents
Thanks Moto! This was very informative for an old guy like me! I would love to see ryou ride some other electric bikes in the future!
Will do, man!
My wife and I both have the zero FX. They're sick bikes and they're really good for riding in the snow in Canada. If you ever end up getting one you should get a super charger. Diginow makes supercharges for the FX/FXS and the SR and DSR have supercharger options from the factory.
I would have told the dealer i wont buy the bike unless the fast charger is thrown in.
Yassss I want to ride one of those so bad. It looks like fun. You should have tried to wheelie it in sport mode.
I most certainly would have ended up in the pavement lol
Finally! Someone who says "should have" instead of "should of". I hate it when people say the latter.
What happened to your drift car. Did you leave it in Austin?
I bought my first bike from wow. J freeman helped me out. Dope. One of the best shops in Georgia.
Been watching you for a while, just realized you are in the Atlanta area. Greetings from Lawrenceville! I'm the leader of a badass 50cc scooter club that helps old ladies cross the street, holds open doors for strangers and terrorizes the area with other random acts of kindness.
I actually made a 60V electric bicycle out of a Trek 800, 35 MPH top speed and 20+ miles on a charge. Was such fun to ride, and it being a bicycle I was able to go pretty much anywhere. Electric has such a thrill that gas can't match.
I’ve road the Harley Davidson live wire it’s pretty cool.
And it was nice meeting you at SCMM 👌🏻 🏍 🏄🏼♂️
Ty the lightning LS-218, its an electric supersport, claimed top speed around 220 mph (350 kph) it looks sick
When the grom build starting can't wait
Great stuff thanks man
What do you need to drive it on the street do you need a driver license like a normal bike does?
40mi @ 12-24hrs? Holy shit. My custom 20kw build is maaaybe 2 hrs or so.
what if you brake and gas same time? is it infinite power then?
Knew immediately what road you were on from the start. Welcome to kennesaw!
I LOVE IT! I am torn.
Hey! I go to school right down the street from WOW motorcycles. Thats so cool to think you were so close to me
Okay. This is resetting a clock in my brain 🧠. I used to think that motorcycles were the only motor bikes around. Now, a whole new trendsetter just upgraded my kind of thinking. 👍🏼😎
Ride up in blue ridge you would love it up there, those are some of my favorite roads to ride!
Are the prices you quoted Ride Away prices?
Went looking for Zero motorcycles in Australia, a secondhand 2016 model is $20,000. Due to Zero pulling dealerships and support from the country.
I could totally tell what roads you were on. Beautiful. I've been looking at electric bikes because I've never ridden a motorcycle, and an electric bike seems so much more simple than a gas motorcycle.
I’ve been in love with zero’s bikes for a long time now but the dsr zf14.4 just takes it over the top for me! If you could ride that it would be rad!
Is there any difference in acceleration of the bike between eco- and sport mode ?
Come to Tallahassee and we can hit up some of the canopy twister roads here
Your laugh says it all!
Awww man the pain of trying out something new. Its hard not to just buy everything lol. Good Vid !
This one looks Dope😍😍
Greetings from ATX. Does it wheelie? How about backing it in? Launch control? Cornering ABS? I don't know why anyone would get a SM that doesn't wheelie
I really thought this was chase for the first few min but I remember he always wears his gear💯😂
Try the naked zero. I tried it about a month ago at AF1 racing in Austin. Killer bike!!!
I manage a dealership and we sell Zero's. These bikes are incredibly fun to ride. I commuted with a 2017 13.0 Zero SR (yeah buddy) for a week. With the commute (40 miles round trip) and running to lunch and errands, I never had any issues with range, and the bike has ample power to move even us slightly chubbier guys.
If anyone has the opportunity to take one for a demo ride....do it. I've never had a single person come back from a demo ride without a smile from ear to ear.
Powersports Pete n
Please test the other electric motorcycles!! Thanks for the videos!
man I love that sound xD
AF1 Racing in Austin is an Energica dealership. So next time you're back there visiting, I look forward to a video on all of the Energica models. LOL! 150 MPH top speed, about 145 ft pounds of torque (I think). Energica is supplying the bike for FIM's Enel-sponsored Moto-E racing that kicks off it's first season next year.
Every video he makes, he makes me jealous coz he gets so many opportunities to ride different bikes and I'm not even old enough to ride a bike.
gotta still wait another 4 or 5 years.
Neel I gotta wait 2 years I’m hyped!
welcome to georgia brotha!!!!
why does it use a belt instead of a chain? to save weight?
Next test ride something electric! Would love to see more of those!
”Loud pipes save lifes” oh wait🤔😂
Fake news!
@@shiraz1736 Fake pipes save lives.
Been my experience riding a V-twin 1100 with straight pipes that with modern cars...loud pipes...get ignored just like quiet pipes.
You can’t hear loud pipes until you are behind them. It does nothing but annoy everyone.
I'm thinking about buying one of these. Should I buy this one? Or the DS/R....?
You should go up to blood mountain, that whole area has crazy awesome mountain roads
I’d love to see more e-bike reviews and rides! Yeaaaaah buddy!
no charge tank option on the FXS, only on the larger Zero models
You can go to the Zero site and you can see stores around you and also schedule a test ride. For those who dont know.
How much volts
Moto I’m so stoked that your in Georgia, since I’m in North Carolina! I’d LOVE to meet you someday, since I’ve been watching your vids for about 3 years. I kind of doubt you are, but you should come to mustang week in myrtle beach September 3-9th!
Yeah,I'd like to see you ride other bikes before I make a decision on getting my very own,so far I'm interested.
Is that just a twist and go or dose it have a clutch
In for more electric reviews!
You should try Honda ctx 700 dct we just got my wife this automatic bike to start on and she loves it
I wonder how long you can expect the battery to last lifespan wise. My mom had a Prius and the tech told me the batteries at 8yrs old had about a year of life left on them. I’d guess it would be similar, but what’s the cost of replacement? The cost of entry seems reasonable and I’d guess both gas and electric bikes would all drop in cost once they catch on. Are there tax incentives to buying one?
Build series on this one!! :D
Have you done a review on the S SR or SR/F?
I go to school right by you and Dan and I waiting to run into one of y’all
What does it top out at? I'd definitely want the L2 charging option so i can take road trips in it. You can get an adapter so you could use Tesla L2 Destination chargers, too.
I believe the FX will do 88 mph and the FXS will do 98 mph but not very long sustained top speeds !!!
a vid of a test ride on the zero sr would be nice good vid by the way
The looks of this bike reminds me of my Honda Nc700x a bit
You mentioned Harley having a stake in Alta. Recent news suggests that they just split away from each other. Hopefully HD didn’t come in, take the tech, and leave them high and dry.
The Alta Redshift EXR is at the top of my list of EVs right now.
Great video. Let's not forget, it's just been confirmed that Ducati is working on a electric motorcycle too.
Panigale E
I wish
50 miles going fast on my WR 450 SM and im tired - so this has enough range -
Goodvideo Thanks
You should do a meetup and Collab with Do It With Dan. Fans of both of yall!
what's this aspect ratio y u not shooting 16:9?
The car in the mirror at 2:00 looks so nice
buy an electric bike!! for the next bike build
Would love to get a duel sport electric bike some day when the prices come down and there are more dealers/shops around that can service them. No shifting, quiet, relaxing ride through some trails. Actually be able to see some animals without scaring them away 10 minutes before you get near them.
So I signed all the paperwork to buy this bike. I had stopped in randomly on a ride and fell in love. Plan was to trade in my bike for it. I was completely enamored and overlooked something that my super practical wife saw immediately. I was farther away from home than the battery could take me... “if you can’t ride it home, or back for service, don’t buy it” - ended up on the Ducati and have zero regrets. That being said, I still want one of these. Bad. In the same way that I love the feeling of a bike going through the revs and all the associated noises, electric bikes have their own equivalent of that, it’s just as exhilarating, but different. Which leads me to my last issue with electric bikes in general, I’d absolutely die on one. This bike in particular was practically taunting me to be a hooligan. Just like my Ducati does. Which is my problem, not the bikes. It’s also why I’m selling the Hyper this season.
If you loved riding this bike and are an aging hooligan like me, the Ducati Hypermotard will absolutely blow your mind. It’s everything I needed/wanted in a bike. The tall, dirt bike riding position is IMO the best position to really enjoy a bike. Both bikes do all of this and both are huge temptresses, so be safe!
DIWD shows up outta nowhere "This town ain't big enough fer the both of us."
I have a kids sized electric bike and it’s pretty fun can’t imagine this.
Dude I’m in Columbus ga about 2 hours from Atlanta. I’d love to get a meet up going and go ride
I think they're pretty cool. 🤔 I guess. I'd like to ride one of the naked or sport style just to say I did, but the rumble and feel of an "og" gas bike is just in my blood. Don't think I'd ever buy one, but I never say never. Good job on the video my dude. Keep em coming. And congrats on the new home and location. Still not TOO far from me, so maybe I'll still be able to get to meet and ride with you one day. Love the r6 and the lil r3 you built. I have an r3 I'm trying to fix up right now. I used A LOT of your info from that series. Thanks for that.
One of the craziest things about an electric is all your preconceptions go out the window the second you hop on and crack that throttle wide. Then you are 5 years old again laughing and giggling. And it doesnt grow old.
Btw you should schedule a ride to the dragons tail or devil's triangle since you are a little closer. You would enjoy it.
Georgia,North Carolina,Tennessee, Kentucky your living in the best area to ride in this world. I’m in Ky and headed to the gap next Wednesday for a week. I’ll be in every state mentioned.
Your from Austin Texas? Same. I like the bike
Yes please ride the other models!!!
GOOD video!
What milage is considered bad for it?
Que motocicleta espetacular. Espero q chegue o mais rápido no Brasil. Parabéns pelo vídeo dado like.
going to be very awkward when you stop for a red and a kid asks to rev your bike...
Mika K. Lmao
Please ride the top model DS or DSR, Want to hear your thoughts on them
This bike looks crazy fun...
Have you ever thought about building your own? Look for one of your favorite old bikes, that aren't working, because you can convert them. There are videos of homemade Electric Motorcycles to teach & inspire you. Especially a series by someone named Benjamin Nelson.
Think of just replacing the stator and crank with an electric motor, still keeping the gearbox!
I've got one that I converted 😉. 1967 Kawasaki A1 SS. Nothing super extreme, and pretty low budget, but its a blast!
Alex Bessinger
That's great.
I'm sorry everyone. I forgot to mention things. Like that I would rather build an Electric Motorcycle then buy one, because I hate Stealerships/government, and I enjoy personalizing things.
And with a homemade Electric Motorcycle. You can start with an affordable build, then over time, upgrade the different components.
Like going from cheap but heavy SLA batteries, to custom, form fitting, temperature controlled, Lithium battery packs.
If you don't use Hub Motors. Go from a cheap brushed DC Motor & controller, to a liquid cooled, Induction Motor, that uses Evans Waterless coolant, and a compatible, programmable Motor Controller, that has Brake-Regen, and can handle more voltage & current.
And 3 big tips I forgot to mention.
1) Install a Cycle-Analyst V3. It is SO GREAT. It can show important data, and keep things safe, with Current Limits and other features.
2) Use Dielectric-Grease in connectors, light sockets, and on non-sealed conductors, as an extra layer of protection, from weather, corrosion, and even short-circuits/ shocks.
And 3) To get the most out of your batteries. A BMS can't be trusted, use a low voltage alarm instead, and a charger you can program the voltage it charges to.
If you ride in different seasons. I recommend adding something, that can safely warm or chill your batteries, because they work best at a certain range of temperature.
Don't charge them over 80%, don't discharge them past 20%. Look for the datasheet, for the batteries you're considering, for the Minimum/Maximum voltage, Rate of discharge, and effective capacity at different rates of discharge.
Wiring batteries in series, combines their voltage. Wiring them in Parellel, combines their capacity (range), and their current draw limits.
Voltage effects top speed and the rate of acceleration.
Current/Amp draw, effects torque, and how fast you drain the batteries.
So. Use different battery configurations, and adjust the current limiting feature of the Cycle-Analyst, to experiment with the performance right for you and your budget.
Just make sure the motor, controller, and battery configuration, can handle the voltage & amps.
If the motor or batteries are getting too hot, especially during summer. Lower the current limit. If you want more continuous torque. Then you will have to trade up to a better motor, and if the batteries are getting too warm, then you have to change something about them too. Like wire them more in parallel, and or, get batteries that can handle more current.
________________
Like with modifying or building Engines.
Modifying or building a Battery Electric Vehicle, is about balance & purpose.
It can be performance oriented, like a Drag-Racer...So much power, but the longevity & reliability will be sacrificed.
You can make it the opposite...So reliable, stable, safe, and long lasting...but so slow.
It's important to find the balance between those two, that is right for you, and your budget.
I hope this all helps.
And when I said trade up to a better motor, if the one you're using is getting too hot for your needs.
I meant get a motor with a better Wattage rating, and better cooling ability. And sell the old motor.
Oh!
And try not to use so much current, that things get hot. Motors that use magnets, can get demagnatized. The windings in the motor, and the wires in your project, can get so hot, they can melt or burn their insulation.
This is why I recommend, not only being careful with the amount of current you send through things.
But also recommend getting components & wires, rated for higher continuous wattage & amps, then what you plan on using.
For example. If you want to experiment with 6000watts, then get components rated for like 8000watts, continuous.
I keep saying continuous, because like computer power supplies, generators, and sound systems. Component Manufactures, may advertise the Peak Wattage. When what's really important, is Continuous Wattage.
Continuous Wattage is what allows you to climb hills, and or keep accelerating, without worrying that something will burn.
I also recommend thicker wires/cables then what you need, for the current your planning to send through them. Thicker gauge wire is more expensive, but has less resistance, meaning more efficient, and less likely to heat up.
And the best kind of wire, is genuine OFC.
Oxygen Free Copper wire. More expensive, but much better quality, for efficiency & longevity.
@@tilenlini Pointless to put a gearbox on a electric motor. A electric motor that produces 30 ft/lbs of torque does so from 1rpm to 20,000+ rpm. Unlike a gas engine that needs a gearbox to transfer it's limited power band, and rpm range into a wide range of speeds.
And yes ride more zerosssss
Gotta check out Aprillia Tuono my fav bike , bet u gonna like it :)
Damn, I'd love to get that bike
