Great Video - BYD was named after the road the first headquarters was located on (Yadi Road). BYD is a Chinese multinational manufacturing company that was originally called Yadi Electronics. The name was changed to Biyadi to avoid duplication and to give the company an alphabetical advantage. The name "BYD" has no particular meaning, but the company adopted the slogan "Build Your Dreams" in 2008
6’2”, and I fit well in the drivers seat. Absolutely surprised as to the fact that I fit as I don’t fit in many cars, let alone a sub-compact car. They’ve done well.
Still holds up really well! I would say, recently when I let it go down to 15% battery, the range dropped quicker than I expected. It said around 60km then went to about 40km in 15 minutes. So, I think the range may have dropped a bit but so far it still is reasonably accurate. Maybe take 50-70km off the range. I'm still testing this though! I can't say for sure.
Great Video, Unfortunately the mad scientist in me wants to swap out the sunroof (if its a fixed not opening type) and replace it with a Bifacial solar panel, still lets some light through but can charge as you go 🤪🤑
Oh my gosh! Not mad scientist! I fully agree with you haha. I keep saying to people we need solar panels on the roofs of these cars!!! ESPECIALLY here in Australia, it would be excellent! haha :)
Probably 200km Gold Coast and back, to be honest not super far. I'm planning to do a longer road trip - maybe more like 500-800km or to Sydney and hopefully I'll document it here!
@@awesomeevsguide on Wednesday 5 March 2025 (early morning) are you driving down to Homebush [Sydney]? and then on Monday 10 March 2025 (early morning) driving back to QLD? The Everything Electric Sydney Show, optimal to book 5 nights accomodation in Homebush area walking distance to the venue [but make sure the hotel has onsite parking]

@ it would only be a slow trickle charge probably slower than the 240v in your garage but every little bit helps.
your bEV still looks to be in good condition even one year+ later.. ..what is the furtherst trip you have driven in it?
