the unlus and the radia are my favourite bones, Mitchell
I don't know if it has helped me, but I've just formed a routine of doing 20-40 push-ups every morning when I wake up (1 or 2 sets). It forces my wrists into extension every day, and since it's not a huge amount of work for me, it doesn't impede with my workout regimen at all. I'd like to think that this routine has allowed me to maintain wrist mobility over the years, or at the very least it has helped with this specific type of wrist extension mobility. In my workouts I do use wrist wraps practically all the time, though.
That bit about wrapping for a monster dumbbell was interesting. I'm a casual lifter and I haven't tackled the circus-type dumbbells yet, although I have worked up to some decent weights with regular ones, and I haven't really thought about wrapping up differently for it.
Thanks. Always helpful.
I always grab the thumb loop with my ring/middle finger to hold it in place while I wrap it, once I'm done I just slide that thing over the top of my hand to get it out of the way. Used to wrap it up higher over my hand for the extra support, but now I find it gives more support when I wrap it just below where the butt of my hand meets the wrist. Nice tips/tricks video!
Thanks for the tips Moose!
Thanks. Have been actually looking into wrist straps. Getting into heavier weights and been having wrist pains after heavy pressing days. Think I'm going to give them a shot and get some now. Keep up the great work i have become a fan over the last year.
What a gem of a video!
Hey awesome content, i relly enjoy your technique breakdowns and how you explain it, because i have never seen this good content on how to lift a dumbell, atlas stone, viking press, yoke, log, etc. and these videos help me a lot to improve in the gym
Thanks
Hmm, interesting. When I put on my wraps, I just put the loop on the tip of my thumb and wrap from there, that way when I take the loop off the thumb tip it ends up on the backside of my hand away from my palm. It's exactly the same way Brian Shaw does it (he has, or had, a demonstration video on his EA site on the wrist wrap page).
Regarding monster dumbbell wrap -- and this is purely from a viewers perspective, as I've not done any kind of monster dumbbell press before -- but it looks like you essentially have no wrist support wrapping up the arm like that? Being able to angle your wrist side to side would imply that you're also able to angle it front and backward also with full range of motion, at which point, why even bother? This is an honest question and not meant to be argumentative at all.
Thanks for the video regardless!
Me too, what a knowledgeable nice guy! And love the openess about not wanting to do strongman for life.
Strong Moose for the win!
Thanks
I just started to use Wrist wraps, I'm amazed how well they work for Wrist pain. I had pain for years after about a mouth of lifting with the wraps its almost gone
Love your content! I'll be cheering for the moose to win the worlds strongest man
Thank you! When I was younger, I watched about 400 videos on wrist wraps, and this is the best
Was this your last video about straps or will you continue to watch them?
And as an expert, what do you think about Versa Grips?
@@Paul-om1zs @Paul-om1zs Good questions. I stopped watching them a while ago, I just clicked on Mitch's video because I'm a fan
I find Versa Grips very useful and have used them with loads over 700lbs and they didn't break or anything. They let me grab the bar quickly and I simply prefer them to figure 8s or regular straps. I'd recommend shelling out the money for proper Versa Grips rather than cheaper knock offs because I've heard stories of them breaking. I've had mine for 7 years and they're still going strong with no real signs of wear
@@calebgodard4554 wow thank you! 🤯
Thank u
I hold between my Thumb and index pull the wrap down lightly First around just bc below wrist joint second around the joint with overlap 3rd mid top high part of joint any extra goes back down
Thanks for the great video. I've recently just started using wrist wraps and it's taking a bit of getting used to. I've found I've gotten pain in the back of my hand when benching (suicide grip) with the wrap pressing on it. Do you modify your wrap for benching?
Love the Tshirt, but can't find it on the TYR website. Was it a limited edition?
Is wrist wraps a good idea for intermediate lifters, to protect the wrist a bit? Just like knee and elbow sleeves?
My gloves have these attached to them, they definitely help me lift a bit more
What would be the ideal length of a wrist wrap according to you? I have been looking for a good pair, and I'm mostly seeing 14 to 16 inches long ones.
Do you leave the wrap on the whole lift? Or constantly wrapping / unwrapping?
Curious...at what point did you start using wraps? Was it right out of the gate, or was there just a certain point that you realized the weight was heavy enough that you needed to start using them?
I wonder if he had wrist injury before like carpol injury or cubital tunnel
❤
I just bought a a pair of 18 inch iron bull wrist wrap is that good
Any wrist wraps are better than no wrist wraps 👍
I leave the loop on my thumb it has never bothered me or been in the way in some competitions or what not that's not allowed and I've never understood that it's not gonna help you lift more weight🤦♂️
Just use versa grips
SUPERB CONTENT 👍👍
KNEE STRAPS NEXT 👌 PLEASE
