I bought one 18 years ago for about $50 or so and kept it for about ten years (all steel with vg-10 until a roommates friend stole it. I've gone through hundreds of knives and now I'm going back home to this one (but with k390).
My favorite knife for all the reasons you mentioned. While $100 seems like a lot for such a tiny knife, the fact it is so usable, so versatile makes it worth the money. It’s biggest flaw? It multiplies like rabbits. I bought one, and somehow, now I have four.
Dragonflies breed quickly, right? You and me both, I've got four as well! And every time I go to sell a couple, I can't bring myself to do it. The ergonomic lines are some of Spyderco's best work.
I've very recently got the black version in VG10, and it's fantastic,, I'm glad I didn't get the K390 version, but I'm seriously considering the pink version with the black blade,, A Truly great knife, and I wish I'd got one many years ago,, 👍👍
It's a surprising little knife. I got my first one on a whim ~18 months ago, didn't think I would love it, but the ergonomics just blew me away. Ended up becoming one of my favorites pretty quickly.
Why I got the wharnecliffe: If I wanted one knife in my collection with a wharnecliffe, the Dragonfly 2 is the size where this blade style has the fewest drawbacks.
