K390 is my favorite steel when it comes to putting in that work, and it gets a beautiful patina over time as a bonus. No problem to sharpen. Whoever thought to add Cobalt and Tungsten to 10V/A11 is a genius.
He didn't mention this in the review but it has what might be comfortable handle I own. And I have over 100 knives. It just melts in your hand. For sure Loctite the pivot though. Mine pivot screw came pretty loose, and I'm gonna blue Loctite mine before I carry it again.
I’ve passed on this several times. Picked up the leaf jumper in k390 instead. Don’t see ever getting this now that I have the sage 5 lw in rex 121 coming.
I also grabbed the leafjumper and loved it soo much I bought another one when they went in close out sale. This has been in my list forever and now they're on sale for $170 at knive center I'm definitely grabbing one.
Man does your stop pin screws have to be loose to have a decent action on yours? I just got the vg10 version and when I first got it the blade was way off center so I went to check to see if the screws where tight and they where loose on the stop pin ones and when I tighten them up it messes the action up big time, l'm not over tightening them either. I can see a gap like the stop pin isn't the right size length. Just curious if you had the same problems on the k390 version or maybe they fixed the problem?
Hey Kole, if I have one ride or die knife, it's my serrated K390 Delica. They're being discontinued but they're still out there, and usually under a hundo. Seriously, get one. You wanna cut some cardboard, that's your boy right there. It cuts like a space laser. It's wild as hell.
I carry the endura wharnie in k390. I have shredded paper towels and receipts all over my counters on the reg. 😂 My wife isn't the biggest fan of k390.
K390 is my fave blade steel from Spyderco, which I currently own 13 of em. The LT3 K390 is also at the top of my list for an overall carry. Tho called a lightweight, it is built solid with great frn texture, steel liners and heavy chunk of K390!. Got mine for $155 or $170 delivered in May 2024, just got extremely lucky on the price, these are up there in dollars but such a great EDC. Thanks for the Video, keep it up!!!
Cool Spyderco, saw it in the catalog but didn't investigate it at all. Seems really decent. Finally pinned up a Rosie yesterday, should be here Monday! 🎉🎉
So I haven't had any seki models since like 2001 until the endura Ive been carrying. You sound like you have a lot of experience with them, I'm curious , from your experience, do they usually have a bit of lock rock? If so, have you ever been able to reduce or eliminate it? I appreciate any feedback.
@@ElonaldTrusk the lock rock exists in good number of the delica 4 and endura 4 models ive had, but inly when youre pushing it hard through materials. its partially a problem across many backlocks not just spyderco, and can be worrying but i do t let it bother me personally. My last Delica 4 had too little lock space ironically, you had to tap the lock spine to get it set in more but at least it has room to settle before a perfect fit
@@thaknobodi I've only had a few back locks that didn't rock a bit.. a couple cold steels, and the native 5. The native 5 feels like it's welded, zero play even with excessive force. Im fine with it if it's expected/normal, but if it's only on a small percentage I would consider addressing it. Thanks for you time!
Just picked up one of those this week, and it's freaking awesome. Might have the most comfortable handle of any knife I own. You need more K390. BTW, I scored mine from SMKW on the Father's Day sale for $163. I'd wanted one for quite a while, and like you, I was like "$239? Ugh.". I think the "Lil" might be more like describing the amount of "temperance" involved than the size of the knife. Spyderco has a fixie Temperance coming out and I think I want it.
I got my first k390 this year as well, but I opted for the delica 4 w/ warrencliff blade shape.. love the lil bugger, super sharp n yah can’t beat that light weight grip.. was able to find a limited edition lynch nw that has a rising sun design on it now slapped it on it
Big lil temperance fan. The original philosophy of use of the knife gives some insight into the proportions of the knife. It was one of the OG MBC (martial blade craft) knives. Full size handle with a shorter blade making it legal in more jurisdictions. Think Emerson CQC-12. Full size handle short blade.
I think the Lil temperance is a better all-rounder. Good for pretty much anything and everything. The Rockwall is more of a light use kind of fancy night out carry. If that makes sense.
I bought this exact knife just based on the looks because it struck me. Well I was right it checks off so many boxes of what makes a good knife. Is it perfect, NO. I’d say don’t bother with a VG-10 version one but in K390 this knife is damn good.
Yep. I have one in my collection. It feels like a dinner plate in my pocket. Fit and finish is meh compared to Taiwan and US made spydercos. It desperately needs aftermarket scales. The blade is perfection tho
Looks the part, but I'll take my Manix 2 LW. Made in America at less than half the price. I agree about the looks, Spyderco's aren't really pretty, that's why I got the Manix, I thought it had the best looks and useability and so damn sharp!
Its been one of the best daily users for a good while now! The LT is a banger.. when you can get these around 140 bucks when they do 30% off sales they are a crazy value! And thank you for stating the fact of "even 63-64rc magnacut edge retention is not good" ive been shouting it for a long time. With MC its all about the geometry if you got ultra thin geometry then it will cut for a while based strictly on sup 10thou behind the edge but the steel its self has pretty poor edge retention.
That's because Spyderco produces millions of knives per year. They know they will sell most of them so they care less how they look or let alone the packaging it comes in. If your looking for high quality knives and people that care about packaging you need to buy from small American companies.
yeah I have bought knives with extremely impressive packaging (like Jack Wolf) but those knives dont make me anywhere near as happy as a Spyderco does. Id rather spend the money on heat treat and performance and steel composition then knife packaging that will likely just get thrown in a drawer. maybe some people display them, but that money still would have been better spent on the knife itself
@mcsquirgle I also don't really care about packaging and would rather the cost of a knife go towards the quality and craftsmanship. Hell, I don't even like Spydercos lol
@@TristateEDC okay, but that's not the point. For the materials you're getting, the size compared to others of the same nature, the price is wack. Not long ago I got a Police 4 LW k390 serrated for $130 total to my door, just saying.
Too thick too heavy too expensive and no aftermarket scales - I’ve been looking. How can u/I justify this when I can have a acid washed manix 2 lw salt for 175 at kp knives right now? Don’t trip over each over running over there now lol…Love spydie and k390 but a “lightweight” with full size steel liners? No thx
Hopefully it gets more popular and there is more demand, I have been on the hunt to find a maker to do a set of scales for me and most have said their just isn’t the demand so the juice isn’t the squeeze right now. If they can make a pm2 or para 3 scale, they can do the temperance, it’s very similar design, just inset liners.

I just used your link to get the lil temperance, now I'll have 4 spyderco's in K390!
Should this be my first Spyderco?! I am a sucker for a blade like that. Weird and beautiful.

Awesome video! Got the G10 in S30V blade couple years ago from Knifeworks, will be getting this Temperance soon. Thanks for sharing!
Based on your review, I ordered this knife and absolutely love it.....
RIGHT! it's soooo good
If only there were readily available parts for it, as far as I have seen no one makes screws for it, pocket clips or scales. 😢
why the hell is this video only in 360p
You should work at Spyderco because that knife is way to expensive but because of your review I’ve ordered it.. thx 😂
Manix 2 for life.

Hey dude what’s the song used for your outtro? K390 is rad.
Hopefully your kids (kimchi and the pepperoni) got you a father's day gift 😂. Awesome video ❤
Is the Magnacut you were talking about on the QC The Nine?
#1 lookit the lil guy!
I dont have any k390 yet😮
Where can i buy ultem scales for this?
The police 4 in k390 has been my go to for a couple of years. The rex45 Manix is second.
Police 4 k390 is a beast and I love it.
Seems like any spyderco in K390 would be similar in cutting ability. Been wanting a Delica or something in this trim
