So, we now have the "How to Hockey Punch" technique for snap shot and backhand shots. Is the logical next step a 'How to Hockey' dropping the gloves tutorial to further utilize the "How to Hockey Punch" technique -- titled "Why you keep losing hockey fights" -- or something like that?
Omg I've been playing for over 10 years, have gotten pretty good with most all skills and shots...except my backhand. And this is why! Holy smokes where has this been all my life, thank you Jeremy!
I always had the motion described to me as using a pitchfork to toss a hay bail. That probably doesn't work too well for those raised totally in the city though. ;) This video is a better demonstration. The other thing is puck position on the blade. Muffins come from the toe. So, keep the puck between the curve (mid/toe curve blades) and the heel when releasing the shot.
Love it! 😂 Thats exactly what my backhand looks like. The first variant, I mean. 😅 Defenitly something I have to keep reminding me when I get back on ice. 👍
Great video, as always! When you practice shooting/stick handling like this off the ice. Do you use a shorter stick since you're not on skates? Or do you use your regular stick even though it will be as if you're using a longer stick than normal?
The backhand always came easily to me...well, since I was 11 or 12 anyway. Seems like I really got a handle on that pull & punch technique around that time.
@@mhicaoidh1 The only thing that kept me sane while loading the hay into the barn, or shoveling the stalls was making that connection in my mind on how it will help with my shot
OMG, many many thanks. I went from a inconsistent labor intensive crapy backhand to a "Bankhand Shot"
You're the best.
Thanks coach for the technique lesson.
You are a lifesaver! Thank you so much for this video!!!😍😁

Only after I also teach the skating punch and Stickhandling punch 😂
"How to Not Yell at the Ref After a Blown Hooking/Slashing Call" might be more what I need 😅

Hey Coach Jeremy! Just wondering if you could do a video on stick flex and how to really get the full potential out of your stick?? Cheers
Spoiler alert ... it's not "half your body weight"

It's a good idea to use a shorter stick to make up for the difference, but I'm used to switching and adapting so I don't.
😁🤙🏼🤙🏼
My mind is somehow blown to see basketball paint while I'm watching hockey tips. Next time I'm playing pickup basketball I'll try my backhand.

This guy is saving careers😂
I can't even raise the puck 😂
As a muffin champion I'm offended 😂
On my backhand I pretend I’m shoveling dirt and
when I’m shoveling dirt i backhand it like I’m throwing a puck
Yeah, for me it's pitchforking hay bails. 🤣
The cycle is complete :)
