2023 Toyota GR Supra GT manual
3.0-litre turbo inline-six (BMW B58)
285kW (387PS) and 500Nm
Six-speed manual, rear-wheel drive
Toyota’s GR Supra lineup comes with a revised electronic power steering system, new suspension bushes and a set of larger ventilated brakes - up from 330mm to 345mm - with red four-piston calipers rounding out the upgrades for the 2023 model.
The manual transmission in question is 18kg lighter than its automatic sibling, and comes fitted with a rev-matching feature called Gear Shift Assistant. It can also be switched off when in Sport mode.

In 1984 my Dad was Marketing Manager of Nippon Denso and we had the only Supra in Australia as it was a developmental car at the time. It was metallic brown with the pop up headlights and 2.8 inline six. It had climate control a/c, a first for Toyota back then. All the car manufactures said climate control wouldn't take on, how wrong were they. That Supra had a digital dash, pneumatic drivers seat adjustment, pop up headlights and suspension was developed with Lotus. I used to get dropped off to school in it and everyone said it looked like Kit out of the Knight Rider tv show which was popular back then. It wasn't the fastest two door around but it looked awesome and handled like on rails. Great times.

Yeah, I applaude Toyota for choosing BMW for the new supra, those guys at the bavarian motor works know damn well how to make a good inline-6 driver's car.

It's pretty cool that there's this and the m240i. Best of all worlds. RWD purists will LOVE the Supra, and AWD fanatics like myself get the assured extra grip we crave in the BMW. Same engine, different car. Like it.
I’ve been thinking about upgrading from my G42 M240 to one of the new G87 M2s because I miss a manual but this might be the wiser option

Wow 117mph at the 1/4mile. You guys probably have the fastest stock supra in the world. Also maybe your driver is super light lol.

Im going to sound a bit critical here but I actually dont like the look of the new supra. It kind of looks like the toyota ft1 concept but a bit fatter and less aerodynamic. I wish toyota kept it more like the concept car they had on gran turismo. Much sharper and sportier looking. If I had to choose Id probably get the Bmw m240i

If I understand what you're saying, the supra has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution so I don't think the short wheelbase matters
50/50 for noobs they don’t mention it with RC F or LC500
its a good engine.. but.. i love toyota.. for that.. i buy a LC500
