This is the calmest I've seen Eric, in an interview. He was basically being interviewed by an original absurdist, so he actually answered his questions. I guess when two absurdist characters meet, they cancel each other into normality.
lmao that actually kinda makes sense
Eric really only trolled stupid or uninformed interviewers.
Eric is calm on many interviews. Watch the Hamilton one.
If people get his humor he acts normally and just talk about it but if they don't he can't resist fucking with them. I love him for that.
This is his model, it's not like he is gonna surprise him with something, he preferred to just talk to someone who is in his world and knows his troubles.
This would have been so much better if Erik and Henry were out there talking to Tom at the same time. The contrast in personalities would have led to complete hilarity.
I can see one or two hyperactive personality traits in common tho
I came into this video expecting that for sure and I'm kind of disappointed that they weren't just all in a room together at once.
I don’t think that would be fair to Henry because Eric has a very loud personality, it makes sense to give them both their own separate time
Thats what I was hoping for when I clicked on this 😭😭😭
@@BabyFoodChewer Eric's surprisingly really respectful, it could've been a great show with the 3 together
This makes me emotional. I was a little girl watching tom green in the 90s , then got into space ghost and Adult Swim. These guys helped me bloom into the wierdo i am today.
I was kind of hoping you had wrote 'these guys helped me bloom into the man I am today'. Good for you nonetheless

That's the first and only time I've seen Eric Andre legitimately concerned that he might've been hijacking an interview.
True that.
I love how tame Eric is with Tom. You can tell that Tom truly is a major influence of his.
So is ur mom
Green literally made him. Andre created this. He RIPPED HIM OFF COMPLETELY. Biting to the worst degree. ANDRE IS A HAcK
Tom Green is heavily underrated, He paved the way for alot of entertainers
He's a fake, watch him with his guest that used a chainsaw a a prank... Watching paint dry irl is more interesting than this old fart
@@jonmegarton8078 you probably should watch paint dry because you paint houses and shit
Like Joe Rogan. He said when he went on the Tom Green show was the most major influence to start his own podcast.
I always thought he was a genius. Anyone who grew up with Green must know this and there are many.
He made "Freddy Got Fingered", that's enough for any man to be let in the gates of Valhalla.
I have wanted this interview for years and years now. It's almost like a dad interviewing his son, or a proud master, interviewing his protege.. and then.. fucking Henry Rollins... I don't think there's more I could ask for .. all three gods in their own respect
Henry Rollins is awesome.
Black flag covered by Rolling Stones "it means nothing to me". Fuck yeah, I'm not even into punk usually but always loved for Black Flag
Tom's looking at Eric like he's just found his long lost son.
Hahahaha, so true - there’s something genuinely fatherly about Tom here.
100%
Tom is so awesome, because if you look at Toms old show show and that destruction clip, you tell that is literally the entire basis of Erics show today. Eric just made the show he liked from his childhood all over again in his own way and it's awesome. I am so glad the OG inspiration for the show is cool and not bitter or jealous, it's so awesome and refreshing. Shout out to Mr Tom Green for being so damn cool, since the 90's, what a legend!
i thought Eric Andre and Henry Rollins were going to be on at the same time. them with Tom Green just all causing havoc could cure Covid.
Right?
OMG
I remember when Tom Green had, like, the FIRST internet show,
before streaming was a thing.
He was always ahead of the curve.
You can tell that Eric respects Tom quite a bit here, while still doing the usual Eric things.
eric basically took his whole show from tom
@@robinohara226 This is true. I like Tom's old Canadian show better than Eric's, though. Eric tries to be accessible while Tom made you feel like you entered another absurd and hilarious dimension
@@DigDowner i do like both a lot. and eric gives his gratitude to tom at the beginning.
@@DigDowner no
@@robinohara226 Tom didn't invent absurd physical comedy. Eric Andre was clearly inspired by Tom, but if you actually watch both then it's clear that they have different styles. Quit trying to be a critic.

Rollins has mellowed out so much in the past several years. Dude seems like he’s legit happy with life these days.
On joe rogan He said that hes permanently depressed and works everyday to feel ok and go hard towards his work everyday. I font think its possible for him to ever be happy

Saw Black Flag at City Gardens back in the 80's and he was the absolutely most intense dude I've ever seen in person !
Man! Im almost 40, and Black Flag was over when I was 2. The Rollins Band was my Henry gateway.
Tom Green and Henry Rollins have both been on The Eric Andre Show. Also we have this. Now Henry Rollins needs to have a show and invite Tom Green and Eric Andre on as guests.
Big fan of Tom Green, Eric Andre & Henry Rollins. Really great interviews. You can really tell that Eric Andre respects Tom Green on that comedic level.
Tom Green is like the Les Claypool of comedy
But is Les Claypool the Tom Green of music?
@@M2Mil7er yes and if not that he's at least the tom green of bass playing
@@bustersales4932 Les Green?
My name is ya bud!
Never would have occurred to me but that seems accurate.
Lmao the best part about interviews with Eric is how he hijacks the entire conversation at will. No matter how much he respects the interviewer, he can never relinquish that authority
Riveting interview with Henry. He has a 2 hour broadcast from KCRW every Saturday night and he treats the listener with the same respect he has for the music he selects for the program.
I've never been a fan of his music, but yes, he seems like a really cool guy.
@@svfantom7776 Same I’ve always thought Henry Rollin’s band sucks but Henry Rollins himself is a pretty upstanding guy.
This is a dream, Tom Green and Eric Andre together? Wow, just awesome.
And Henry.
Holy shit! Tom Green has a talk show?! Badass, I love his vibe.
I think he started podcasting before it was mainstream
I wonder if he's gonna cry again if a guest doesn't do as the princess wishes..
Exactly my thought
He's been doing this for a whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiile now. But as for a talk show , Think he was doing that before mtv picked it up , If I'm not mistaken. Back in Canada
“Had” a talk show
This clip is from 2013
As others mentioned, Tom Green streamed video from his house since like....2003 or something. He was one of the earliest guys doing that sort of thing. His original talk show was from his house as he alluded to during the Henry Rollins segment, the last time Rollins did the show was from Tom’s House.
Rollins was Tom's inspiration for driving around the country in a van.
The disciple meets his master.
Tom Green is essentially the reason why Eric Andre does what he does... it's almost like watching Johnny interviewing David Letterman.
Jonny Bravo? Or Depp?

Whoever decided to give Tom Green a talkshow, thank you 🙏
He had a talk show way before this, the new Tom Green show it was called, first show after the originals.
Im glad tom greens around again that makes me happy
This is from 2013 but that’s still pretty recent at least
The people who didn’t ask Henry more about his writing career missed a beautiful opportunity. It would be so badass to have a conversation with him.
Rollins is a truly great guy - his spoken word shows are a top night out.
I could watch Eric and Tom daily. They should just co-host it.
Agreed. Completely
Imagine one of them eventually playing a prank on the other, on the show, with the guest.
His name is Tom Green

Interview’s with Henry : He always delivers ❤️
I love the respect andre has for Tom
for some reason i like henry rollins more now than ever
Henry rollins really has a way with words it's gotta be said. Explains himself really well, even my dumb ass can comprehend what he's getting at!
Henry Rollins has the most beautiful of minds.
Im glad to see he's still around.
Also, I'm really glad to see how mellow he's gotten in his later years. He's like a proper kid again.
This is the best combination of people I could have ever thought of
Eric Andre is my favorite "met a celebrity" story. I met him at a show, and long story short, I say, "hey, wanna smoke a joint out back?" and he is sweaty as shit and goes,"you got anything harder?"
I freeze up and a guy comes from out of nowhere, puts his hand on Eric's shoulder and says, "I DO!" and they walk off. I was laughing my ass off. I'll never forget it, Crocodile 2013.
all three of my teenage idols in one room
This is surprisingly wholesome seeing as these are both gross shock comics that spend their professional career pissing people off
henry rollins hasnt been pissing people off professionally since the 80s
@@Alex-kn5tr I think he meant Eric and Tom lol, Rollins is not a shock comic
And then there's Eric Andre!

Right after she asked about if he'd collab with any artist, the first one that popped into my head was Paul McCarthy - and he said it! They definitely share the same frenetic energy
Eric Andre and other comedians that occupy that sort of "shock humor" category in the comedy genre owe a lot to Tom Green. Tom Green was the original guy who would go out with a microphone and a camera and then act like a deranged person to get reactions from people around him.
Mostly his parents. Decapitated cow heads in their bed in the middle of the night and painting their house rainbow while they're on vacay
@@jazw4649 I'd say the two ladies eating each other out on his parents car was a Tom highlight. The sitting in trash cupboard waiting for his dad to goto work and then driving to bus stop with all the people going to work. 10 out of 10 larking.
I believe he painted his parents house plaid and the car was named the slutmobile
Act?
@@piecrumbs9951 Tom Green is not at all like his TV counterpart but he certainly made a living off of that presupposition and persona.
Ironic how the one talk show host Eric behaves for is Tom green

I am impressed by Tom Greene as a host and the positive vibes he got from both his interesting guests. Listening to both - time flew by! Thank you

Did you already watch the Narduwar interview with Henry Rollins?
Eric and Henry are total ningas at their craft.
The best
He never died (:
Two polarizing people whom I both fucking love, tremendous!
A lot of people getting introduced to Henry Rollins

and he had Eric Andre and Henry Rollins as guests?!
2013. He had a live show. Till 2014.

Yeah, seems the old turd does get some 2nd class celebs
Two of the most rawest cutting edge butcher's in the funny business !
The respect and admiration of one another oozes through my computer screen and it makes me smile. Tom has been a hero of mine since I was 13, I always wondered if we'd get anyone like him again. When Eric came around my wonderment passed on. Two geniuses :)
This is the trinity I needed today
I'm glad they're speaking about the influences here. When I first heard of Eric Andre and became more aware of Tom Green's show, the similarities were remarkable but it's like Eric Andre bastardized and warped it into even more chaos somehow. And it's great to see them more "out of character" just straight up talking.
Henry is one of my favorite people. I know that if I met him, the other interaction would be exactly what he wanted it to be. I respect him enough to trust him as a person. That’s rare.
I did not know this happened. Tom Green was the funniest thing in the world when he came on the scene. I feel like Eric's show would not exist without Tom.
Henry Rollins starting to look like Jeremy Irons lol
it’s like 12:42 and I’m trying to not lose it and wake up my brother over the description of that hot clam air bit
Henry Rollins is KING. Not so much a fan of his music, but his persona and intellect is superior.
He's impressive, certainly.
@Tanner Edge If you read my comment I already said his texts is the best bit. Like Jello Biafra from DK.
Good show and a good pairing of guests. Real mavericks, both of them.
I love you Tom Green , you made me laugh histerically so many times in the past that now it is enough to look at you and I feel more positive. May you live for a 1000 years
Wish he'd do more interviews and whatever. Was so happy when he started up the podcast and live streams here on UA-cam.
easily one of my favorite interviews. the three of them are great! I love the beautiful brains behind them
Lmao. I would have never imagined it would be watching Tom Green keeping a show on the rails
This makes me love Eric so much more

Damn, literally two of my favorite people. Never thought I'd see them together in any capacity.
These 2 need to do a movie together 😁
Henry Rollins understands that being honest with yourself means everything. People should stop fooling themselves.
From the title I was hoping Tom was streaming this live out of his van
Amazing throwback, all wonderful people.
This is great. Two amazing comedians appreciating each other
Tom green comes off like he’s peering into our world wearing VR gear
Brilliant
Did Henry and Eric call each other when picking out their outfits?
Most likely.
All the guests are obliged to wear the same things in order to be allowed to participate. The producers want to promote egalitarianism by discouraging individual expression such as wardrobe preferences.
@@Koettnylle 😂
Yes, they called each other frequently and also texted each other. They called me too and talked at length about recipes including carrots.

Not a rocker at all.
Two of my 90’s heroes and one prodigy.
They need to make a buddy comedy with the three of them.
It's a bit misleading to say all three were together, should have had them both on at the same time!
Clickbaitish for sure
I think Eric Andre would’ve had a good time at those early black Flag shows the prime of hardcore
3 of my favorites
Tom Green! I haven't seen him in 20 years. I've never seen him this serious. LOL! All I remember of him is mustard inspector, and running weird pranks on his parents or Glen.
23:40 for Rollins, folks
(The whole show is great, but look, people are busy and sometimes busy people only have time for Tom & Henry)
My aunt Twila is turning 90 in March. She's the oldest person my family has ever had if she makes it. We are salt of the earth, Mennonite German folk from the Minn/Dakota areas. She is God-fearing and a saint of a lady. She lost her husband and first born in the same week, and not even in the same event. She left her home for the first time after that in her 80's! and moved to Kansas, where she knew nobody. I tell you that to tell you this; I have seen my dear aunt's tragic terrible eyes after her love and her pain of a lifetime., and they don't hold a candle to Tom's psychotic cannibal eyes.
Aunt Twila would you like some sausage?
You can really tell that Tom feels like he passed the torch to someone who could hold it. I wish they had a more in depth conversations but just to see these two in the same room talking is such a treat
The 30 minutes of free time I could have made music, glad I watched some of this. Tom Green is a good dude. Real respect.
Never knew about Henry before now. He seems like a very interesting character!
Henry's spoken word albums are great. He's done some acting too. "He Never Died" is a cool film he plays the lead in.
He looks like he seen some shit
this means Henry Rollins and Eric Andre are canon in Clone High :0
There is such an amazing juxtaposition between the guests the punk rock dude is so subdued and the talk show host is the most chaotic dude I've seen in recent years
my GOD Henry is still looking amazing. Proof of what clean living can do for ya!
I still can’t believe I made this guy’s moonshine lmao met him and didn’t even realize
Henry is one of the modest and sincere human being alive
He's been a prick plenty of times. You can look it up. Jello Biafra on the other hand is a sweetheart and a true artist.
"This is gonna hurt" truer words have never been said
Two of my favorite people on the show. I wish the show was longer
You know, I forget how awesome Henry Rollins is. Thought he was awesome when I was 18 and still think he is awesome at age 50. Just a great guy.
Henry Rollins will exist out of pure spite when I'm 50
@@G_FREwhy wouldn’t he? What are you, like 8?
Thanks for having these 3 awesome people on an awesome show. Too bad there was no cross talk from Andre, but he may have totally stolen the show. Good times all the same!
Next time!
I love listening to Henry Rollins. I grew up and was a part of the punk movement myself. Never so much into the American hardcore stuff, but of course I respected Black Flag for what they were... and meant, to millions of punk-rockers worldwide.
But I love listening to him talk. He's just one of those guys, like KRS-1 or Jordan Peters, who has the ability to educate and inspire people's minds. I love that this is his role now, and I wish I could see more of it. Conversations with Rollins do seem to be relatively rare online, compared to the value his voice has. So, yeah, I loved this, and I wish I could hear more from him. Maybe he could be a guest at Rogan sometime, or something? * crossing fingers *
Never seen Henry smile so much in my life.
