Most beginners make these mistakes a lot.maybe because of inadequate information or misuse of information and these can lead to crashing or losses too huge to bear. therefore proper guidance should be considered too

Ignorance should not be an excuse as a business person. Gather proper and adequate information about whatever business you want to venture into and dedicate time to understanding the guidelines well.

Sincerely I have seen people making these similar mistakes of not being well equipped about their plans before taking them up,you have to make more research , relate with a good mentor and explore well the benefits and possible losses before taking up any plan(s)

It could be disastrous as a beginner not understanding asset management well before having a plan. I have carefully analyzed the comments here and sincerely it is the best idea and advice. I am successful in asset management thanks to BIANCA HARLEY DORAN who is always there to guide through any process

In this video I cover the 5 things that I really enjoyed about working in asset management within an investment bank. I spent a few years working at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, both as an intern during my second year of university and after I graduated, in London. I touch on things such as work / life balance, compensation, client interaction, the people, the nature of the work, and more. Let me know in the comments which area or industry, regardless of whether it's banking, finance, asset management related or not, you want to break into and what video you’d like to see next. Thanks for passing by, enjoy!

Hi Afzal. Thank you for all the insight. I was wondering if you could answer a quick question. I'm in my second year of uni at a non-target Russel group studying Economics and Finance. For various reasons, I didn't get any experience in first year in regards to insight weeks or open days etc. I've applied to a few internships for this summer and will continue to do so but I feel it's highly unlikely I'll get onr with the experience I have. Does this mean it's very unlikely I can break into asset management? What would you recommend I do in this situation to try and salvage this?
Thanks again for all the insight Afzal.

    Hi Azfal. Big fan
I'm a student very interested in the high finance (HF/AM/IB) scene, with a large interest in working with the capital markets. However, as a finance major I lack the advanced math and programming knowledge that is becoming more frequent in those careers.
Do you see someone without advanced math/programming knowledge having a good shot at breaking into hf/am/ib? If not, what careers would you recommend that would not have a advanced/coding prerequisite.

How is asset management different from a hedge fund or a PE fund? How do you make money off of the clients? Do you assume any risk yourself (as an institution)? When you pitch clients do you just talk about your past performance or do you present specific investment strategies the market/research guys have come up with?

Whenever people discuss work life balance they talk about daily working hours. They never talk about PTO or sick days. I couldn't find a video on this but would love to know if people even feel comfortable enough to take PTO and what that looks like.

1:35 this is credit to my manager at that time.
1:50 osmosis: you learn by taking notes and hearing in on the conversation. This is not the case with private banker because high net worth individual.
you can get more client access sooner among other division.
3:00 work-life balance is better than IB and sales & trading.
the gender ratio is more even. they have family.
3:50 if you're trustworthy in your to-do-list in a timely manner.
4:15 front office is always good. bonus is depend on the team performance - region and organization.
4:30 the nature of work: taking money from clients, such as pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, governments, large companies. and invest in financial markets to get a return. because you get exposure to the different asset classes. you're not siloed into fixed income or equities.
alternatives: hedge funds, private equities, and real estates.
    5:20 pension pot is shrinking.
