I would definitely agree on Yield, but ranking Backspacer that high and Binaural and Riot act that low, suggests to me that you require a mental evaluation 😂
@@themindseyecmh 😂👍 to each their own, but like I said, you've nailed Yield. It's a hard catalog to rank, but I'd always have Yield an Vs as their best.
The only real beef I have with you here is ranking Binaural and Vitalogy so low, but overall, not a bad commentary! My top 5 are: 1. Vitalogy 2. Vs. 3. Yield 4. Binaural 5. Dark Matter (spoiler alert, Ten is No. 6)
Solid review, with good reasoning provided. I don't 100% agree with the ordering, but that's how it goes with art, tastes vary. Personally, No Code is in my Top 3.
Longtime PJ fan, from the very beginning, but started to lose interest after Binaural. Dark Matter has pulled me back in, their best album since the 1990s, in the conversation for Top 3 overall.
IMO Pearl Jam has become different bands over the years. The original Pearl Jam was TEN and VS. Vitalogy was practically a Vedder solo album with the guys as a backing band. No Code was the old band dying, in a mid transformation phase before turning into the band that made Yield. Yield is the first album of what i think most fans know as definitive Pearl Jam, and Lightning Bolt is it's last. Gigaton and Dark Matter is Pearl Jam, in shadow only, as i feel they've matured so much, they're unrecognizable from the one that made Ten, Vs, Vitalogy and No Code. It's still amazing, especially all of the Dark Matter album, but it's something new and fresh.
Interesting take. I would actually extend that I think current, elder Pearl Jam "began" with Lightning Bolt. Backspacer's "The End" sort of marks the literal end of what you call definitive Pearl Jam.
@@PeteOliva There is a song in Backspacer called "Force of Nature" that I think is a masterpiece. Unfortunately the band forgot this one in the setlists of the shows of the past tours. I´m hoping they´ll bring it back in the upacoming Dark Matter Tour
Anything after the avocado album should be ranked at the bottom. Riot Act is #1 but if your favorite song is I Am Mine (the worst song on the album) I see why you ranked it so low.
I’m glad that somebody else is ranking Dark Matter so high! It’s a genuinely great album that has not left my stereo in weeks!
ten will allways be pearl jams best
1) Vs, 2)Ten. Both are perfect 10’s for me.
Yield has always been my least favourite but everyone seems to love it lol. Good video 👍

I've needed a mental evaluation for decades lol

No Code is great, it kinda hurt to put it so low because I do think that album is under rated!
Something special is my favorite song on Dark Matter

No code number 12 for me
why does everyone hate Something Special? One of my favorites on the album.
It's growing on me a little, not bad but still my least favorite
@@themindseyecmh I get that its a little bit sickly but its so upbeat and melodic.

Backspacer over Vs and Vitalogy? Bruh
