- The new Pearl Jam album ‘Dark Matter’ drops this week, so I figured what better time than now to rank all of their albums from least favourite to favourite! I grew up listening to Pearl Jam and have followed them throughout all the eras of their career, both the good and the band so this was a fun video to make! What’s YOUR favourite Pearl Jam album?

@@darrenthetuber743 all because he wasn't acted like too much of a rock star. Jeff said that "he was the only one ok with being a rockstar" There was a difference in philosophy they said. As in "don't celebrate success" Its ridiculous. Matt's just glad to have a job and he'll do everything Eddie tells him to do.

Well, well! It changes all time but here we go:

But the thing is, they're all great! PJ is a very curious band in terms of ranking because unlike most bands there is no global agreement on the ranking, always bringing many surprises when we look at the rankings of different people and this is beautiful and says a lot about the band.

Good call with Let the Records Play being a standout. Riot Act and Binaural are stronger than described here. Ghost specifically is probably breaking my top 5 pj songs these days.

Awesome ranking. I pretty much agree with all of it. Your number 1 was surprising. I also feel that vs is better than ten.
Yield for the win! Vs. is like Ten but cooler lol
PJ really only has 2 mixed bag albums, Gigaton and Riot Act. Every other album is either good, great or a classic. Amazing band!
They are indeed, you're right I think those three categories cover most of their albums!
@@NickCinoMusic exsctly. Even Binaural jumps over the boundary by just a bit to be classified as a "good" album to me, even though it's not one of the greats.
The latest one would rank 7th in my list, I guess, after the Self Titled. The 90s albums and Avocado are in the top 6, no doubt, but Dark Matter gets close imo.

I loved gigaton when it first came out, but it hasn’t lived up to the hype I put on it at all. That being said, I still don’t think there is a more lopsided album in the PJ pantheon than lightening bolt. So many skips on that album for me.
It sucks that the last two records have been so inconsistent, hopefully the new one changes that
I’m hearing it will, recording together and Eddie getting the bands input is probably what is best for them going forward

I just can’t get into the Pearl Jam self titled (avacado) album.
It’s a bit bland in production.
I bought it when it was released and just doesn’t resonate.
I hear that, a lot of the songs aren't as strong as other albums. Unemployable is a gem tho 🤘

Yield is my least favourite. I hate the production and the mix, sounds low-fi and thin. It’s not explosive or hard-hitting, and it doesn’t sparkle like Vs. or Ten did.
