Thanks for the feedback! The reason I don’t do a welded nut, and the heart shaped design is so that they are reversible so they can be used with B&M/TCI shifters & PPP shifters. Welding on a nut would mean there would be 2 different designs for the different style shifters and wouldn’t allow any adjustment for cable orientation.

Serrated nut would fix the issue too or a nord lock washer

I have a 2005 Ram 3500 single tire quad cab long box 'Clifford the big Red Dodge' (278k miles) with PDD valve springs and pushrods, SXE472 compound kit, air dog, Fleece 10mm stroker CP3, industrial injection 45% over injectors, Fleece coolant bypass, NV5600 with Valair twin disk organic towing clutch... and I will need to rebuild my T-case soon because it's leaking pretty good from the front drive line output shaft seal. Your video on the T-case rebuild is going to save the day!!! Thank you!!!!

Great content as always. Definitely have a lot of control with the FMVB. Very interested to see how the towing duties go with it. I've already got an nv5600 truck as a tow piggy, so I already enjoy shifting. My biggest thing I want is an exhaust brake to go with it and compounds. I'm guessing a modded 351 with a s475 or s480 would be a good setup on that for towing. Have you ever run any of the DPS turbonator set ups? That would be an interesting set up to see in there for the exhaust brake/vgt functionality they offer.

  • @savagefabrication795

Towing wise I will never go back to a reg vb. Get stuck once and fall under the charger on a hill and have the safety’s in the vb always grab the next gear too soon and snuff out the charger and you end up stuck in 2nd or third locked when you know you could get it back up into fourth if it would do what you told it too do. Lol. Happened once coming out of Vegas. Never again. I call them half and half’s though and I really like those for daily’s/towing. In third it will run like a auto, but you turn off the gear shift safety’s so it will go to 2,1 anytime and stay till you change gears. Take lock up and od away from the pcm. Absolute dream to drive. But maybe im partial. I have been a fmvb guy since highschool lol. Killer video!!!!

I'm kinda lost.. am I missing something really big here? All you did was move your shifter linkage and the bottons from factory? The truck was full manual before you did that? is this is what a manual swap looks like? Because you didn't even change anything. You relocated factory controls? And the you even said the factory cable works better then the one you installed? Wtf are you guys smoking?

      I’ll try to explain.
I ran a new harness for LU and OD
The shifter comes with a new cable which I installed. Instead of removing all the factory stuff I left it in case I want to switch back.
The factory controls do not allow for LU or OD control when you want only when the ecm commands it. I don’t understand how you are not getting it

@@horsetorquesdiesel ya, that makes sense I was just unsure how you shifting it vs the computer was any different. Why not just program the computer to shift right now instead of tomorrow.

Good video quality was fine and if anyone doesn’t feel that needed information was not included shouldn’t be doing this anyway

Jeez man a bit insensitive, you can't talk that way these days. I wouldn't mind a 6.4 truck to swap a Cummins into. Or if I had a lift I wouldn't mind a 6.0 if it was free.
