    Just purchased this kit and installed it. You DEFINITELY need to keep the judder springs if you install it on a DRZ. Also, the initial pressure plate has different markings on it than the rest to let you know it should go first. If your clutch lever is loose after install, you did something wrong. You don't have to remove the rear brake lever if you don't want to you just have to wiggle the clutch cover out. So far the clutch feels good and puts the power down well.

      Clutch lever play after install depends on the strength of the new springs installed and how worn the previous plates had gotten before replacement and if that had required clutch cable adjustment prior to install

      Hey, did you reuse the old judder springs?

      I reused them because the kit didn't provide new ones

    Could you post the DRZ 400 torque specs for the 6 bolts of the clutch/spring basket? Do you advise to use blue loctite on those 6 bolts as well?

      hey man, I just got the EBC DRC clutch pack. I noticed It didn't come with the shutter springs. Did you install with the shutter springs?

    You should do the DRZ's big brother next. One that has a lot of heat and miles on it so you can demonstrate the proper way to get fused gasket off a case.

    HEADS UP!! PLEASE READ!!
    One of the friction plates is a different size than the rest (it has a larger interior diameter). It’s noticeable if you’re looking for it
    but LOOK FOR IT.
    The larger friction plate has to go in FIRST (to fit around the judder spring)
    If you don’t put it in first, the clutch pack stack will be too tall and your clutch lever will hang completely loose.
    Find the odd one out. Put that one in first. Simple install, no other issues. Have fun!

    You need to keep the judder springs if your kit has the first friction plate with a larger inside diameter. I used an EBC kit and you keep the judder springs.

    Hey mate does the last friction plate have to be turned 1 turn further? On the drz400's

    • @rmatvmc
      @rmatvmc  3 роки тому +1

      Hmm, good question. I know the old one came out 1 turn further, the OEM manual doesn't say to do that though. I'm going to look into it further and let you know. -Charles

      @@rmatvmc thanks mate I would be very keen to know as I've just done my clutch plates and now as soon as I engage clutch the bike starts moving forward so I'm going to try and turn the last plate to suit the rest and see if that fixes the issue

    Just trying to confirm now if the Wiseco DRZ400 clutch pack uses the washer & wave washer (jutter spring) prior to the first clutch plate? Wiseco has no instructions with the pack and their website is pretty bad. From your video, no instructions = leave them out...

    Is it critical to soak the clutch plates and friction plates before assembly? Won't they get bathed in oil as soon as you start the engine and it idles for a bit?

    • @Jackson-yj5pb
      @Jackson-yj5pb 3 роки тому +2

      They will but it is just like how your supposed to pre fill oil filters. It helps give the clutch plates a bit of a prime you could say

      The spring stayed stuck to the cover, you can see it at 4:23 in this video.

    you didn't show how to check the oil. some dipsticks require threading it all the way in, some just are placed without screwing in and i can never remember which motors need which option.
