Once I bought the Hyperion Max, I felt similar, underwhelmed... but once I gave it a chance it was beautiful. 10/10 on Brooks part!
Asics Superblast is my best trainer, then Topo Athletic Cyclone 2
Vomero 17 and triumph 20 for me this year great shoes that serve more than one purpose
Asics novablast 3 is the most rated shoes created by paid influencers
NB Rebel V3. Does it all for me. Hopefully the V4 is great too.
Asics superblast for me. I hated paying for it, but those things are amazing.
Hoka Mach 5 is my favorite trainer from 2022 that has carried me through 2023 as well. Reliable, comfortable, fast, and mild stability.
Am I the only one who found the midsole in the Ride 16 dead... Narrow forefoot and no energy return from the midsole..
No, you are not!
Agree! Had the Ride 15 and after 150km it was done. Felt energy sapping after that.
This year was really surprising for me because I wasn't planning on getting Boston 12 in first place. Then it became the best duel density shoe that I own which can handle a variety of runs.
On the other hand, I was planning on getting Vomero 17 but they released it far too late and I was enjoying the airpod in Vomero 16 now I don't know if it's worth trying out since I have a beast of a shoe. Maybe you guys can share some insights about differences between Boston 12 and Vomero 17 in terms of feel and overall performance.
Rebel v3 for me. Natural feeling, protective, great fitting upper.
Puma foreverrun nitro is my favorite daily trainer along with asics nimbus 25
What's your favorite trainer this year?
Magnify Nitro 2!
Asics Superblast!
I've got about 65 miles in the Hyperion Max. Nice, lightweight shoe with a great rocker. Does it soften up at all as you get more miles on it?
Yes it does. Also feels amazing on light trails
My most used trainer of the year has been the altra vanish tempo
Triumph 20 and 21 is amazing 🎉🎉🎉
Yeah I have such a hard time not using the Brooks Hyperion Max. People say it isn't a soft shoe, and I agree it's not mushy, but it's definitely very protective.
My 2 favorites for 2023 are the Tempus and Triumph 21. Thanks for the great videos and Happy Holidays!
If you had to choose one which would it be? I’ve only been using the Tempus during 2023 and looking to try the Triumph 21s and Ride 17s.
David out of left field with the Vomero. While it's not officially put yet, I was able to get the Ride 17 this week and I'd say that's impressed me most out of the standard "boring" daily trainers this year. I hoped it would be the Novablast 4 but honestly I didn't care for that one, especially compared to the 3
Saucony Tempus 🥵
Hell yes
I have loved the Hyperion Max, have close to 300 on my main pair and have a back up in place. Ran 31 in them last weekend. I have the superblast as my marathon shoe, I tend to shy away from plates and that shoe is also awesome. Call out to a inexpensive worker shoe, adizero SL.
Daily trainer for me, strung X1, long run/tempo strung X2.
David, Matt - Do you prefer the Ride 17 over the 16?
David = the most awkward being on earth
Puma Magnify Nitro 2!
I was considering that shoe but bought glycerin 20 instead because of a huge discount. I was 50/50 on either.
skechers go run 11
BEACON shoe?
I believe she’s taking about the new balance beacons. Those were also my all time favorites back in the day. They should be more clear ….
