We do this in real time runs as well! We memorize which powers come up when you suck up 2 enemies then time our A press so we get the same power every time! It's a 4 frame window to do so, which is 1/15th of a second, so it's not easy, but it gets easier with more practice and experience!

Nothing against Star Allies, but the 4 player co op isn't even a fraction as good as the co-op in this game was, or rather, could have been, considering how inconvenient linking was.
I think what amazes me about TAS-ing Kirby is sometimes you don't actually see any deliberate damage until halfway into the video, and when it happens, it's always blink-and-you'll-miss-it.
It was a mistake. The author commented that he could have just gotten Bomb from the one enemy. I think he became so used to mixing that he overlooked that the ability he wanted was already right in front of him. There's probably a moral in there somewhere. That, or he forgot that the enemy gives Bomb. 😄
@@TurboPikachu there is a similar enemy in Dream Land 3 and some others too (I think Star Allies) that give nothing. It’s like a blue version of that enemy.
I like how Throw Kirby makes quick work out of Dark Mind. It’s like when he’s GRABBING and HOLDING the Dropped Star, it’s enough to deal so much damage. It’s akin to how Suplex in Super Star Ultra deals immense damage when used correctly in the Arenas. Just grab the Star and throw it at the right time.

The helper Kirbies wander around the world. You can call them by pressing R for help, like getting a big stone block to move, but it will deplete your battery. How much battery you have is shown on the top left of the screen

Turns out that this big block can be pushed bit by bit by stomping the ground near it with stone ability of all things, also works with galaxia's downward dash
From the Submitted Run: Get Wheel or Fight-ability from golems Golems are obviously stone enemies and will give you stone when absorbing their ability. Some golem enemies, however, will give you wheel or fighter. It depends their current movement. Not every golem can perform all the available movements. Some can only use a stomp attack (stone), some can only use a rolling attack (wheel), and some can only use a punch (fighter). But I can recall there being one who was able to perform all the available actions. I think he was in room 22...
I just noticed also, from that timestamp, that the Golems are all different colours (one is more yellowy, one is more red, and so on) - maybe the different colours show what each one could do?
The other kirbies: "Oh no, it seems we've been split apart! We must work together to restore the mirror and fuse back into one-" Kirby: "nah i got this hold on"
All you need is maps of every area. And if you don't have a map of a certain area and try to view that area(in the pause menu), it won't show all rooms but it will show a room where the map for the area can be found(its color will resemeble the area in a way), you only need to find a way to get to that room.
I'm going to say this is the best kirby game ever made, the maps are huge and soundtrack is brilliant especially the Exclusive Kirby abilities way better than squeak squad!!!!
There are 3 types of golems and they have different palette and ability. This one gives Wheel. Also, you can find 2 Stone Golems that can do all of the possible actions(punch, stomp, roll) while going through the route which leads to the Area 8 Boss
Im laughing at what the other Kirby's are thinking. Just bumming and all of a sudden, these mirrors start popping up, and then every 2-3 mins pink Kirby just comes SCREAMING in on a star and cannon balling into these mirrors
This really emphasises why Wheel is one of my favourite abilities in the series. Missile is also one of my favourites and it really sucks that it hasn’t returned since Canvas Curse.
Does 100% only refer to collectibles or does it include some kind of "enter all doors" clause? I can't figure out why Kirby will enter certain rooms, then immediately warp back to the Mirror, without doing anything at all in that room.
“To reach 100% completion, every room in every world must be explored, every Big Switch must be pressed, and every Treasure Chest must be opened, in addition to defeating the final boss. Playing the Goal Games is not required.” Looked it up cause I was curious, but yes you have to enter all of the rooms.
@Cristopher At least you got THAT close to 100%. All the times I played this, I always reached only 80% or so, and last time I played I reached 94% only.
At 21:07, I'm fairly certain those enemies give the bomb ability when sucked up normally. Why did you use the Mix ability to get it instead? Does it save frames somehow?

Hitting enemies and destroying blocks causes some small lag, so it's more efficient to avoid that whenever possible.

the foley falling animation is slower than doing the setup you see mugg do, by skipping it he also keeps the momentum of kirby’s movement speed
also he is getting as much frames of wheel’s fast horizontal speed as possible before collecting the ability.
