I tell you where I struggled to not cry. Episode 7, when Peter and Flora are talking about taking over the children. Flora reels off a speech about being tucked away, and hoping their parents faces wont fade, they'll be happy, and everything will be 'perfectly splendid'. the whole tone of that scene, with the music and the acting from Flora's actor, it was so good but so sad.

Find someone who looks at you the way Hannah looks at Owen (and vice versa). Not one single character was wasted in this show. Not one single second was wasted.
I also believe something else I read on another video that it may have been false that Peter couldn't pass. He had directly stated it would bring him back within the house (specific location) any time he tried to leave, but it didn't happen when he possessed Rebecca...he stayed right there. So either an overlooked thing or maybe it wasn't actually true in the case of possession like Peter claimed.
Really good point! I also watched another video saying how it was suspicious that when Peter took over Rebecca w her consent to try and leave the manor together, he bounced out and she fell out into the mud outside of the manor. But moments before that he kept saying how every time he tried to leave, he ends up back IN the house at the SPOT where he died.. so how come that wasn’t the case when they tried? Either he’s a liar or that they were able to leave together, but maybe Rebecca felt wary about leaving the manor w him so her consent wasn’t 100% which is why he was bounced out. The director mentions that the consent is either verbal or emotional and since she didn’t feel it emotionally anymore maybe he was kicked out, and maybe Peter knew this, and decided on his own that in order to keep her he had to kill her. He was always so possessive of her so it could be possible..
Also don’t think peter was possessing miles when he gave Dani flowers. Miles admire Peter too, and Peter taught miles the key to a woman’s heart are flowers. Peter mostly possessed miles when he was around Hannah. All the times miles says “honestly Hannah” and scoffs, is Peter. Peters favorite saying was “honestly Hannah.” When Miles is smoking and when he demands a drink, that’s Peter as well.
I loved Hill House and I love Bly Manor just as much if not more. The way the original short stories of Henry James were woven into the overall story was brilliant. It was fantastic how different types of ghosts created through death, loss, regret, even love. So many things can “haunt” us from our past, which is relatable for everyone. I hope we get many more stories!
Just thinking of the ending where Dani makes that selfless act to keep everyone safe makes me burst into tears. What a beautiful and heartbreaking story this was.
I feel weird saying this but goddamn Oliver is simply so attractive and I'm sorry I didn't notice that when he was all disheveled and miserable as Luke in Hill House. But coming back to Bly Manor, I admit I still like Hill House better because the Crains moved me so so deeply and that story was more up my alley. However I think Bly Manor was shot and acted beautifully. Dani's backstory and Victoria's portrayal was phenomenal. I especially loved the characters of Owen and Jamie.
I think there's a very big chance she will be. She's also doing season 3 of You though, so she's certainly keeping busy (I love her character in You so I'm excited to see more of her there as well)!
Can't wait for her movies!! I'm glad she jumped into the netflix bandwagon instead of mainstream movies snd stuff. With covid happening, movies aint gonna do good, but at least netflix is still great. so the demand is still there. except for they had to delay the filming and production.
I saw it as a physical culmination of him coming to grips with his “dark side” that betrayed his brother and lusted for his sister in law. As well as the guilt of being the REASON that both his lover and brother died. They would never have taken that trip if it wasn’t for their affair. His brother called out that evil nasty side of him and I believe that was his way of coping
Hannah: “What would I do in Paris?” Owen: LIVE Hannah, LIVE” Hannah: “Yes, Owen I, I will go to Paris with you” *smiles intensely* “Yes, Yes” *Looks up* *Owen leaves* ... 😭😭😭 Heartbreaking
When she talked about how "funerals are for the living" I was already spoiled that she'd been dead this whole time and I couldn't help but feel for her. Like... girl, that's rich coming from a dead person.
they were literally the dream lesbian couple. completely in love, living in a perfect house with plants everywhere, and owning a florist. ARE U SERIOUS
When they kept asking Hannah if she wanted anything to eat and she kept saying no, it felt a little obvious that she was a ghost. Which is why I kind of thought she wouldn’t have been? Thought it was a red herring.
I love stories like this! It's not the typical ghost story because there's a lot of life and relationships surrounding the characters. They also have amazing chemistry and their acting is superb! Would love to see more series like this.
It was a wild ride. I got really sucked in. I started to really love each character. I didn’t want any of them to die at the end. It was amazing. I love how they did it and I think it was a love story...all the stories were in essence, love stories. (Not Flora or miles obviously)
@@FieryFlamingFajitas By love story not many refer to a daughter and father/uncle 🤷🏼♀️ haha. Clearly I meant love stories like Hannah and Owen story. Or the sad love of peter and Rebecca. And the love story of Danny and Jamie.
@@FieryFlamingFajitas that’s not what I meant in my comment. I was referring to the love stories in the series❤️ and as I said originally, not Flora and Miles obviously.
I love this show so much. I watched it twice in under 36 hours. Stayed up late until 5AM only to wake up at 10AM to watch the entire season again 😂 that’s how good it was.
I felt like Dani's backstory with her fiance wasn't fleshed out enough. Like one episode just ends with her seeing his ghost and then it seems like she's about to confront him but then the next episode doesn't pick back up with that and we never talk about him again...
Right! She just stopped seeing him one day. That relationship and his death definitely affected her so badly that she had to completely start a new life. I wanted to see more of it
I saw his “ghost” more as a manifestation of her guilt over his death and/or the suppression of her sexuality. That is why his “ghost” disappears once Dani completely opens herself up to Jamie and allows herself to love and be loved instead of wallowing in guilt.
@@princessmelvin5098 Totally agree, however, thought it could have been done a bit better. The spent the better half of the series with a huge build up of this backstory and it just fizzled out.
Love how everyone loves Carla Gugino like it’s impossible not to love her but is nice to see them talk about her. It was a great surprise that she was in bly manor I love it 🥰
YESSSS i was rooting for her to be gay too like idk she was kinda shy and awkward and it was so cute and then she met jamie who was like a badass and she immediately fell in love ahhhhh cute
It's been decades since I developed such a huge crush on an actress, but ever since I saw Victoria in "Hill House" I was smitten. She has this inner light. And watching her and Amelia, who is also quite lovely in this show as the remarkable Jamie, play such a wholesome but tragic love couple was just wonderful.
@@rashi2479 but that was all because of the piled up rage inside of Viola and her horrible fate. But I guess that wasn't justifiable by those reasons either...

This is more about THHH but you know a show is well written when it all seems frightening until you see the ending and it changes how you perceive it all. Beautifully written.
T'nia did a perfectly splendid job of portraying Hannah's heartbreak, confusion, and helplessness when she found out the truth of what happened. And no matter how twisted and selfish the love story of Rebecca and Peter was, I kind of felt sad for him still. They did good on their roles 😭😭😭
Bloody hell he's English!!! Speaking as a scot he nailed the Scottish accent, well done that man. Henry's English accent was spiffing too. 1st season was awesome this season was OK but all the cast were really good
The only crooked accent was Carla's "older Jamie" accent, but there was a reason for that. The viewer was not supposed to guess until the final episode that she was Jamie so she starts the show with a very prim RP accent that only starts morphing into Jamie's northern accent as the finale gets closer. Oliver's Scottish accent was spot on for a standard central belt accent, I thought he sounded like he was from Fife. Henry's English accent was also excellent for a public schoolboy, he sounded like a Tory who had attended Eton and played croquette with the royals.
LOVED ALL OF THIS! The romance story between Jamie & Dani was perfect. Well done Mike Flanagan and the writers. This was amazing to watch. Would love to see Amelia Eve & Victoria Pedretti together in future projects. Their on screen chemistry is palpable.
Rebecca gives full control to Peter the night he drowns her. She says “it’s me, it’s you, it’s us”. He tucks her away in romantic memories, and there’s a poignant scene where Rebecca’s eyes turn blue as she enters the lake, Peters eyes are blue. It’s to represent Peter is “Becs” in the lake. He’s the one killing her by “suicide.” It’s why we then see him crying as he kisses her in the forbidden wing, and crying as they lay in bed. Rebecca, Tucked away in the memory, only comes to, to realize she’s in a memory, her realizing she’s in a memory, as with flora, is one of the many reasons the ghost in possession gets kicked out of the body. Peter mentions it earlier in the episode 7. He says “you always kick me out” and Rebecca says she doesn’t mean too, and the memories are too short. That’s when Peter shares his plan of unifying.
4:30 Firstly the curse had been broken by that point by Danni so there wasn't anything to prevent the ghosts from leaving anymore. Secondly the whole curse was made because of Viola, lady in the lake. Everyone else were stuck in her gravity.
This is one of my main questions: so when dani took Viola's spirit and all the other ghosts were free, did they just disappear, or were they able to leave the manor? And if so, were Peter and Rebecca able to go to america? And IF SO, why didn't Hannah go with Owen?
@@jstrudel2819 the assumption is with every ghost story, they pass on to the after life. They’re no longer trapped on this plane. They probably don’t go to America because ghost can’t usually travel, they only can haunt the areas in which they have connections to. (I.e where they died). When Rebecca was still alive and Peter was only dead, the plan was that Peter would inhabit (possess) rebecca in moments, and basically she’d be the vessel to take him to America. And they’d live together, she human, he as a ghost. And that’s why she says “i don’t care if I’m the batty old lady that talks to walls.” But peter tells her it isn’t possible because he can’t escape the property. That’s when he then tries to run off the property, while inside her body. But it doesn’t work.
When I lived in Greenwich village, I was walking home from work and I walked by Carla and she was such a light… she has this huge smile. I didn’t want to bother her so I didn’t say anything, but I’ll never forget it! You all did such an amazing job with this project. I loved this series
The Haunting series means so so much to me. I tend to get really invested into tv shows, and I don't think I have ever watched or will ever watch anything like this series ever
I think peter couldn't escape while possessing Rebecca bc viola wouldn't let them. viola controlled the ghosts, that's why she could leave the property while possessing dani
I think it’s cause if he left as rebecca he would never be able to see or talk to her again. So he left her body at the last second. That’s why he was on the ground crying. That’s why he possessed her and then killed her so they can be together forever
Okay so viola’s sadness created her own type of gravity which allowed the spirits of people who died on bly manor to become ghost and stick around. So the reason any other ghost couldn’t leave was because they were incarcerated by viola’s gravity. Obviously since viola controlled the gravitational force, viola can technically go anywhere. She just decided not to. And when she went into Dani’s body, she lost the sadness and routine that created the force that let the ghost to exist.
I loved this show. Didn’t think I’d like Bly Manor as much as Hill House, by the time it was over I loved it even more! My favorite characters were Hannah and Owen, and I think T’Nia Miller is just fascinating to watch. Can’t wait for the new season!
The answer to the question at 4:28 is that the curse had been lifted. Viola's gravitational pull was the reason why the other ghosts couldn't leave Bly. The grounds themselves weren't keeping the ghosts there, it was Viola. According to the narrator, once Viola entered Dani's body, the curse on the grounds of Bly was gone. We saw that all the ghosts were able to leave. And I think Viola would always have been able to leave had she wanted to. Viola was never forced to remain.
@@kianaking4067 It's obviously worse. If Dani ended up choking to death by Viola she wouldn't have those years living happily with Jamie, plus The Lady of The Lake would remain Viola forever, and she'd just keep killing people and terrorising Bly Manor.
Hill house was a masterpiece I’ve watched the series multiple time it means a lot to me. I respect the director a lot and I love Bly manor too it didn’t disappoint!

The director mentions that the consent is either verbal or emotional and since she didn’t feel it emotionally anymore maybe he was kicked out, and maybe Peter knew this, and decided on his own that in order to keep her he had to kill her. He was always so possessive of her so it could be possible..
I got the Hannah ghost bit when she kept not having any food. As well as the Peter possession bit as soon as Miles gave Dani flowers
I think they made that whole "twist" obvious to hide some of the bigger twists if you get what I mean.
it was obvious? 💀bro i was hella shocked
When did he give Dani flowers?
Also don’t think peter was possessing miles when he gave Dani flowers. Miles admire Peter too, and Peter taught miles the key to a woman’s heart are flowers. Peter mostly possessed miles when he was around Hannah. All the times miles says “honestly Hannah” and scoffs, is Peter. Peters favorite saying was “honestly Hannah.” When Miles is smoking and when he demands a drink, that’s Peter as well.
Yeah, I noticed that Hannah could be a ghost because of the food thing, but the kids were a shock, for me they were just weird.
As long as Mike Flanagan make❤️
Just thinking of the ending where Dani makes that selfless act to keep everyone safe makes me burst into tears.

Here I thought everyone is going to pretend like they did not notice Dani's eyebrow.
I'd like to see a scene where she lets him go at the bonfire or something, maybe she ask for forgiveness ? Idk
When she finally accepted her sexuality his ghost stopped haunting her. It wasn’t really him. It was her shame and guilt.
@@princessmelvin5098 Totally agree, however, thought it could have been done a bit better. The spent the better half of the series with a huge build up of this backstory and it just fizzled out.

Nothing was more beautiful than when Jamie and Danie sat speaking about how the effort put in to see moon flowers bloom for one day was worth it.

Do y’all see how GORGEOUS Amelia is like what?!?!?
IKR
That’s the most obvious thing I’ve heard today
Exactly, perfect explanation.
The horror of this story was realising it was a love lost story. Broke my heart. U all did good. Thank you.
Agreed.
@@jstrudel2819 Yeah they all were free from the curse and therefor left the manor. But we don't know what happened to them after that.
And that’s why she says “i don’t care if I’m the batty old lady that talks to walls.”
But peter tells her it isn’t possible because he can’t escape the property.

Where’s Rahul Kohli????
i think he’s filming his tv show
I just loved Jamie and Dani together! Dang we lucky to have a Q&A OF THE CAST
😔y’all are wrong listen to me
Okay so viola’s sadness created her own type of gravity which allowed the spirits of people who died on bly manor to become ghost and stick around.
@@Gaelldiazz dude you just said exactly what I said but with a lot more detail lmao

I should’ve known that Hannah was ghost when she didn’t leave the manor for Owen’s moms funeral 🙄
