REVIEW of the Daiwa Black Widow 19 BR3000LT Baitrunner Freespool Fishing reel
A long term review of the reel including on the bank action. Daiwa fishing reels have always been reliable for me. Daiwa are a reliable tackle manufacturer, making quality fishing tackle.

Apart from a second hand 123M I've never owned a Daiwa reel until recently. I've just got the EM4000LT which seems OK but not been used yet.Still not sure of the need for 10kg of drag though. The bearing numbers are just a gimmick at times. When you get up to a dozen it seems to me they're hiding shoddy engineering. The old Mitchell 300 managed for years with plain bearings.

@@jorvikangler loved the Mitchell 300 and Match. I agree some of these reels with a high bearing count are just hiding poor engineering

I bought this reel to take on holiday because it was pretty cheap on Black Friday and didn’t want to take my expensive gear as have had bad experiences with baggage handling at airports . Caught plenty of large fish including an 18lb yellow fin tuna which has way more power than anything you are going to catch in uk fresh water and it was flawless

Great to hear. Fills me with confidence for my own fishing. I bet that drag sang with the Tuna on.

Hey man I'm watching your videos. What do you think about the idea of using a metal jig but with the treble swapped out for the smallest weedless hook I can find with a soft lure on it. I'm thinking about how carp anglers use tiny hooks for huge fish and take catch and release very seriously. Ill use this will an up to 8g LRF rod, hopefully for Pollock..m

Great idea. I do it with heavier Toby lures so don’t see why it wouldn’t work with smaller lures. Save a few lures to.
