I remember, I was excited about this rangeman , but ended up buying the mudman, after seeing your videos and durability tests. And after that I purchased the GWG-B1000-3AER mudmaster. For fitness tracking, your gbd-h2000 is much better, for other activities the mudman is the perfect choice.
Casio engineers be like: "Gaijin Kinkade sez we need to bust the Rangeman kneecaps, too many screws loose." 😅 Srsly, your honest and frank reviews are appreciated, good holistic review of the design shortcomings; they should incorporate your valuable user feedback in QA and the next redesign of Gen 4-6. ps Channel t-shirt idea: "I thought there'd be more beeping" -- J. I think that was the first video of yours I saw and was super shocked how horribly it held up. I had a corner of one of my resin Casio fail the other day. Right where they pin clicks in. I took some resin and created a new corner and glued the spring bar in. Now I can only wear it on a pass through nato but I rarely do because I've lost faith in its durability and I dont want to lose it somewhere. Hope you are blessed and unstressed Jim! Take care!
@@johnrb9397 Yes, it would be nice, but I think it's not a good thing from the business perspective. I think the essence of g-shock was diluted in the last few years, it's all about the new shiny metal deposition on the resin, Manga editions of the same watch, G-shock is a fashion brand now, so the durability is not that important, even my older protrek can handle some abuse and shocks.
I've not had the same problem with the screws...but a simple fix for any Gshock is casio using machine screws going into a metal insert, inside the resin, self tapping screws in resin is not a good idea, and they do that on a lot of their watches.
I bought a xiamo mi band. I wear on the left wrist king or mudman and the right the mi band 🙂 I bought almost the new rangeman, but i saw your previous video with this screws... Thanks.
I agree, mine still in good condition after almost ten years. The strap is fixed with screws and pins to the case. I also purchased the new GWG-B1000-3AER and nothing wrong with the strap, metal bezel and very good carbon core case, which is smaller and more confortable to wear. But the original is the best.👍👍👍👍
@@traviswalker8933 Yes, I know, but I was surprised, I never sent back a g-shock watch for service, and this rangeman is going back for the second time in one year. So the materials not improved compared to the older g-shocks. Only fancy marketing, carbon core, bioresin, pvd and dlc coating, but then you realize is just corner cutting, and nothing really improved, actually this is worse.
Can’t believe some people said your to rough with the watch. That’s the whole point of a G Shock. It’s supposed to deal with the challenges of time and the reason for its whole rugged appearance. The durability is what it’s sold on.
Well, after a lot of thinking I would say that's very probably a bad plastic quality and that's it.....a mistake in the mixture ratio in the band, there's no other explanation, since my almost 30 years old Frogs are made of titanium, screws are huge, titanium too, screwed directly in the band, but after so many years screws are holding perfectly even though factory bezels was a rubbish quality. And still I must ask - what really was wrong with the good old springbars? It works at the squares more than 40 years, why it wouldn't work there? Rangeman gen 1 and gen 3 are completely different watches, I don't have gen 1 but I got GPR-B1000 Slice of Darkness, so really I don't need gen 1. good video
@@jasonbrocious3805 Yes, I think it was about broken lugs. The springbars are ok. I have the first rangeman for years and no problems. But it is possible, there might be differences in the materials, over the years.
I had that watch for exactly one week! Sorry, disappointed, especially for the price! I got a Tactix 7 Amoled. Best decision in my life. Best watch on this planet
18.5 inches wrist is a less than 5% of the watch wearer public, is clear you are abusing your watches and expecting the durability of the 95% of other users.
Was waiting for this review

Great multi watch review, and I loved the anticipation for the beeping lol

Dear Casio-San, please be putting Mr Jim-San in charge of G-SHOCK durability and hardness testing.

Congrats on 3rd place!
You started with the toughest (the king) It is a toughness downhill after king, but mudman is 80% close.

Nothing like the OG gwg-1000, barnone.

That's out of the scope of this video though.

Would locktite be a solution? I use locktite on the screws on links for watch bracelets.

I think I’ve heard the prior Rangeman has a similar problem with spring bars…?

We need a full metal gw9500 with mip display
Nope. A full metal watch isn't one for bluecollar jobs.
More Beepage!! I want more Beepage!!
how many watches do you have in total? :D

You could solve literally all these problems, and more, by just wearing the GA-010.
I’m using fitness to justify buying their yellow version.
Yeah seems like a HUGE design flaw i dont have the patients for
You all, Mudman due to his shape, should be the sporty one, not the Rangeman...
They're getting too lazy at gshock it seems. Only a couple releases in the last few years really caught my attention

Thats the whole point of gshocks: durability. They cant stand it? Then its the manufacturer fault; not user's
Having loosing screws sounds like a personal problem. 😂
