Believe it or not, but the HL1 siren was just straight up the announcer going woop woop. Type speak woop into the console to see for yourself
Okay, I believe I was actually hit by the mandela effect, as I cannot find any proof of that sound being used anywhere within the game or the expansions.
I was probably just misremembering because a server I used to be in had a bot that could play vox sounds in voice chat.
@@araghon007 nah you have to enter quit woop first so that the game stops thinking the sound effect is being played, then speak woop afterwards.
@@araghon007 I don't think it's used ingame but it's definitely in the files, and a lot of servers used it too :P

@@ThunderPanzer Yes, but for some reason, wiremod uses that sound effect for one of it's tools.
Unless you enter 'quit woop' first, 'speak woop' won't. trust me.

During my Half-Life playthrough, I found that the only practical use for the 10mm pistol is when you are low on ammo.

It's probably been like years since I've played HL, but I'd just use it for things like basic zombies and metrocops. Not worth the ammo from other weapons.

Why I'm not surprised that the "enemy UA-camr" map is based on the Very Hard Mod?
The evangelion reference at the second map was pretty silly, these map labs are great as usual
I actually played JOLLY's cooperation all the way through. It took me like 2-3 hours I think. After the jigsaw puzzle the map throws another challenge at you where you have to guide a small blue frame through a long twisty rail with your Gravity Gun before the time runs out (like the bead toy at every doctor's office but worse), and then they supercharge your Gravity Gun and have you fight a swarm of Combine soldiers, a pack of Hunters, a Strider, and a Combine sniper. The arena is filled with hopper mines too, which you have to use to kill the Strider and the sniper. And that's just as much fun as it sounds.
The ending is nothing special either. You take the time machine, lose all your memories and go back to the start of the test.
Overall, I think it's a pretty bad entry. Gameplay is infuriating as hell, and thematically, I don't know what part of the map is supposed to "subvert my expectations" or "deceive" me.
So yeah, I think you've made the right choice skipping it.

That Jolly map is dreadful. Had to skip it as well since I couldnt get past that long hallway with the explosive barrels as I would keep getting instakilled while jumping over said barrels for some goddamn reason.

About the Laslo's test, its breengrub reference. The Combine are testing Laslo's mind capabilities, while his consciousness is imprisoned in some sort of host, i honestly dont remember it very much now, but its mostly like that.
These guys are the perfect example of a family friendly geeky friendship. These guys are constantly reminding me of my friend that I've known for close to 5 years and myself. I love these dudes and their conversations. Really just lightens the mood.

I can't use hotkeys for weapons in video games. They're just so much work for me when I'm already struggling with overstimulation, can't focus, and also want to die because I hate video games.
