Love the butter yellow Colette. Take heart. You really have made good progress. Take your time and enjoy the journey. My kitchen is my sanctuary. Can't wait to see your new ( refurbished) stove! As we say in New England, "Keep a going! "
Looking great Colette. A friend suggested I place wax paper down on a kitchen shelf I could not easily reach. The dust and grime settled on the wax paper and the shelf underneath stayed clean. I replaced the wax paper a couple of times/year (or when I remembered to replace). Simple yet easier than dusting.
This is a great idea. My kitchen cabinets get sticky on the top (between the ceiling & the top of the cabinet where only decorations usually go) from years of cooking. They are hard to clean. Will clean & place wax paoer up there.
My dear collette, been seeing you and your beautiful home for so long, you are a hero,my amazing woman tucked away in a piece of paradise all of your own making, just love you so much and all that you do.
Continuing on I have a lot of mobility problems and am not able to do the things I used to be able to do. When I watch you as I do on a daily basis, not only do I feel connected to all your ideas and beliefs but you make me laugh. Thank you dear Collette. Blessings to you and Patsy. Ann and Hamish who is a dog ❤
I LOVE HOW YOU GIGGLE and make light of something heavy. Such a wonderful attitude! Thank you kindly for sharing all of your thoughts and ideas and plans and encouragement! x x x x x x Feels like I live next door :))
Hi Collette ✨what a treat it is when you put up a video ✨I love how you are so positive ✨yes it's the visualisation of seeing the end result in your minds eye that is so important ✨I'm sending lots of help and energy your way ✨and it will be done with joy and ease I'm sure.✨. Blessings to you my favourite you tube lady,,✨ you always inspire me to get on with things ✨I'm about to sort out each room in my house and get rid of unnecessary clutter.. ✨It will probably take me a whole year to do it, but I'm determined to enjoy the ride..👌💋
It is so important to remember that every single thing takes the right amount of time to accomplish the goal... just a little bit more than we think that it will take is usually the way that things go. You will be so happy and excited about this new bright and clean place to live and to enjoy. It is a huge task and has many different types of details and ramifications that are important for the best way to find the joy of your own style of creativity and joyously designing your home in a healthy and loving manner. Take it easy and make it an adventurous delight for the development of a place of creative exploration and experience. It is always the process and the end result is not the whole picture and the clarity of your own unique ways of living with enthusiasm and exuberance. One step at a time slowly and thoughtfully ❤ Reciprocity is a great way to live with harmony and respectfulness. Bartering is a good thing too. Balance and the way to get the job done right and with a strong and successful relationship with honesty and integrity with respect and gratitude. You are absolutely right about this process of getting the best understanding of what is needed for our best interests in this matter of change and revitalization in a good exchange of energies that are made respectfully and honoring the ability to live with love and care. So many different lessons are available in this video, thanks Collette ❤
You have inspired me to sort through and deal with my own jobs. The hardest thing is just standing up and moving towards what needs to be done. The sense of accomplishment is wonderful, so let’s keep going Colette and anyone else who wants to join us. Onwards…
There is nothing like having a good handyman who is a real tradesman who knows what he is doing. They are worth their weight in gold. I hope you can find someone local like that to do the work you want done at a fair price. That yellow is going to be so gorgeous in your kitchen! You inspire me to get things done around my cabin here in central Texas! Thanks!
The kitchen is coming along nicely. Colette, just take your time. It will look fantastic in the end, I'm sure of it! Blessings to you and little Patsy ❤❤
That is the perfect yellow! It's the buttery yellow you get dyeing with weld, a traditional dye since ancient times, and one of my favorites. Yellow, like green, can be tricky.
I love your videos. You’re a lovely woman who is such a joy to listen to. You’ve poured your ❤ and soul into your beautiful quaint, sweet cozy home and garden. Understanding your need to be independent. I’m right there with you . Positive thinking is so powerful. As are you!!
Dear Colette, how happy you are with your beloved Bealtaine Cottage Such a happy place cosy indoors and with your amazing outdoor Land I feel so happy for you now that you have found your wee Patsy To share your home life. dear Colette............your kitchencolour will help when its dark and grey outside........and yes....................doing things alone makes proud......I am 65 now and in the last 10 years since my husband died I do things alone...............2 years after his death I painted my home and change things from right to left and otherwise.................Blessings and Greetings and a big hug for Patsy from Daggy,Kiel,Germany☘☘☘
Absolutely agree about paying for work and not accepting favors. Straightforward transaction, and everyone knows where they stand. Nothing hanging over you, far less stress.
The yellow is lovely; it's like sunshine and brightens your kitchen. And yes, it takes time and effort. I applaud your efforts and your sharing about remaining independent. Thank you
i hope when they remove your old stove the soot doesnt spoil all your hard work ……you are working so hard and the colour is uplifting especially for the winter months
Oh my, it's certainly reasonable that you would be feeling tired. If it was just painting the walls that would be one thing, but all the sorting out and cleaning as well certainly adds to the time and effort involved. You are doing a great job and it is looking wonderful. That yellow is such a cheery color. Never mind how long it takes, a job well done is worth the work!
Oh Collette…Nothing is ever as easy as we think it will be. Smooth seas do not make skillful sailors! We all have faith you will get through this kitchen overhaul and it will have all been worth it!
Great progress on a big project Colette! 💝🌻🙏🏼🌼Feel joyful💐👏👏👏I love the color you chose and I’m so glad you are taking the time to share… it’s about slowing down (about)😉, taking breaks to steadily enjoy the process. Lovely to embrace simplicity, staying true to yourself and getting clarity about a realistic timeframe on bigger restorative projects. You are a force of strength, inspiration, independence and determination Colette!🫶🏼🙏🏼👏👏👏💐💝
Hi Colette, glad to sit with you for a while again. Good to see-hear you´re still doing what you can and want and staying strong and independent. Good to see you! Be blessed!
Colette, your garden is beautiful and it's nice to take a break from painting and go outside. Be sure to get some breaks and enjoy a cup of tea. You will get new energy. A pot of tea is very comforting and Patsy can sit with you. Blessings.
When I first saw the colour of the paint I thought Oh No No No. But it looks beautiful now its on the wall. Its the dead of winter here in New Zealand and this looks like a ray of sunshine.
I find listening to you is very thought provoking, you are making your kitchen look special , bright and sunny it will lift your mood when the darker days come. I just hope the installation of your new Stanley won’t create to much mess, I had a Stanley once it was very efficient at heating the whole cottage and hot water but the dust was unbelievable, so don’t beat yourself up at finding so much on your shelves life’s to short to worry about that. Look after yourself that’s more important.❤️
Hello sweet Lady! I LOVE the color of your kitchen and how it is turning out!! The top shelf looks amazing with the big clock (gorgeous by the by) on the one side~ maybe a big painting, like the one above the chest of drawers where you are knitting in the living room~ put up opposite the clock on the other side of the shelf from the clock? It makes the kitchen look so huge, open and airy...draws the eyes up to the beautiful wood ceilings!! I love watching and listening to you... I have, with my husband, been working on a cottage for two years and you have kept my focus and drive so high...i dont know if i would have "kept it together " had i not found you over two years ago😌🫂 Thanks for the strong Irish woman way🫖☕ Love you so much xx Blessings in abundance to you and Patsy and Merry Lughnasadh Blessings to come!!🔥👩🏻🌾🌾🌻 xx
The yellow is looking so cheery! Some jobs can be quite overwhelming when you’re on your own but I’m with you - persevere…in small bites! We’ve done some “job sharing” with neighbours occasionally and this is usually outdoor work, like pruning and fencing and deck repair. Small bursts, lots of tea!💛🩷💚🐇
Your kitchen is looking so bright and happy !! You do so much work in and outside !! I'm glad that you are also kind to yourself , we should all learn and practise being kind to ourselves. Thank you Collete for taking the time to share ❤
Love the new colour,it looks great now but it will be so cheerful in the winter. Can I also say I think your mosaic floor is beautiful. A work of art.x
The shift in energy is palpable.Yes! I knew when I saw that clock ticking what you were going to say. Thank you for encouraging me today as I am also dragging and guilty of feeling sorry for myself. I LOVE the cheery yellow color! Rest well. Press on. ❤ Pats for Patsy!
It's looking lovely! You've given me some inspiration to start painting my bathroom. I've had the paint for over 5 years sigh. Wish me luck. (fyi I'm 70 ; ) Blessings.
Colette! What a wonderful, methodical job you are doing on your kitchen! I’m trying to ‘tidy’ my house and declutter, I retired in March and thought I’d have so much time on my hands!! But feel I am getting nowhere fast! Independence is so important! And a sense of having done something for yourself and not feeling beholden to anybody! You’ve done a wonderful job so far and your cottage is beautiful! I love watching and listening to your videos. Thank you for sharing Blessings 🙏🏽
The kitchen is coming along nicely. I have the same problems with two wall clocks I have. I put new batteries in set the new time, and they work for a while and then give up. 😢 I sat in my garden for the past 2 evenings and watched the bats flying overhead. I've really struggled with doing stuff today. I'm not used to late nights, and I'm normally in bed by about 9pm. Thanks for sharing your day with use. ❤😊xx Hugs from Leicester England xx
🐞Colette, my dear, you might say you are 'knackered' but you look younger and younger every time you post! Honestly, I am not just being flattering. I mean it. You have found the fountain of youth, and that is passion, productivity, and play. Watching you as you create is so lovely. I love the beautiful sunny color you have chosen for the kitchen, which is exactly what I would have done too! I remember painting my kitchen Tuscan Sun and it completely brightened and warmed the space. I loved it so much that I painted my bathroom a similar warm Tuscan tone and I must say, it was fabulous for making the complexion look sunkissed! I love your channel, and I love your attitude and your outlook. Sending Blessings to you from Canada....xx
I am the exact same way. I want to owe no one anything so I understand. If something is wrong get up and fix it is how I am and I think that’s one reason I love your channel I see my own values there. Take care.
You are doing well…the painting looks lovely. The yellow (and white) has really brightened up the room. I’m 59, with some Irish heritage, and I also like to do things myself. I think it’s important to have pleasant colours in the house.
I love the saying “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.” I feel that large difficult projects like this really put you in touch with your internal being. It gives you an opportunity to get to know yourself. Just imagine that great feeling you will have when you are finished. Keep plugging along. It looks so fresh and cozy.
Collette, you're doing a great job! It's really hard work, I know. I've always been the painter in our family! Yellow is so uplifting & cheery..Great choice, along with the white trim. I suspect there really is no rush. Just keep moving along. It'll get done!
Theorimrose wall colour is quite nice against the tiled floor, Collette. The on seems to set the other off. I think your project is coming along very well working as you are, doing some inside and a bit outside. It balances your day plus walking wee Patsy! My two adult children are off adventuring in the Yukon with their dad the next two+ weeks, and I hope to enjoy my few solo days cleaning and painting my kitchen too! I think your idea of keeping the top shelf clear is a good one. It will bring calm and space into a very busy room. .do you know, I have an old table cloth that is very much like the one on your table! I tend to use it outside for BBQs and picnics..... though, .i must say, it is some years since my kids were interested in a picnic. Sad nut true. Never mind. I hope everything goes well with the new-to-you cooker!
Paint job looks so good. Yes take one area/ block at a time. When you see what you have done your on the last leg now. Having just had my kitchen done by my son in law I know what you mean re dust. Your Will be so nice at end of this project. 😊😊
When we have to deep clean our “stuff”, we really notice how much stuff there is. I have painting to do, and I’m trying to declutter. Its kind of a challenge for me, for a number of reasons. Your kitchen will be beautiful soon. Love the paint choice!
Dear Colette, What an endeavor ! Bravo! time well spent and glad to know you are taking your time. I guess Patsy is off snoozing on some comfy cushion. I don't know if they use primer paint as a base cover in UK? we have it here in US and it can cut down on the coats of paint needed. That's just a future thought, your paint shop could advise you. I really look forward to the final reveal. Take care and thank you for all of the inspiration you share.
Hi Collette. Just watching your post on UA-cam that you made 16 hours ago. I know your Stanley is on it's last legs but also how much use you have got out of it over. I have already decided to offer you a little donation to the new one if you would accept it. I don't think you realize how much help you are to so many people from so many people. For myself you keep me going on a daily basis. I have a
Dear Colette, Your balance of color and form is spot on. I want you to know that you're to be commended for your steadfast determination. Time is so fleeting we must be thankful for the time we use. We can never keep up with time. I'm quite similar to you and the way we think, I'm alone, and since my husband died (28 years ago) I've kept up with my home and landscaping, doing everyday chores, and haven't relied on outsiders to help me. I am very critical and want things done in a certain way, and if it's not up to my standards, I need to go and do it over and that's the pits. Hate to have to do things twice, SO I do it myself. With no hassles or kicking myself because I had to pay them for a "blankety-blank" job. Dad would say, "A penny saved is a penny earned". I love it when it's perfect by my standards. Hugs to Patsy, It's going to look GREAT. Jersey Ann from NJ in U.S.A.
" Excellent " Colette. I am in the middle of clearing house of 30 years of family life so can totally relate. Such joy there is from cleared surfaces but for selected choice pieces. We shall feel lighter & brighter x
Your kitchen looks so energetic and full of sun energy. I love it! And I must be about painting the entryway of my apartment. I love this time of year going into early August, not only because my birthday falls in that first week, but because there is such a different feeling with the light changing. Not the richness of autumn yet, but a time to linger in the beauty of it all. And a surprise today! I received the three books I ordered from you after just eleven days, from Ireland to Virginia in the USA. My cats are giving them a good sniff!❤❤❤
❤You are a true inspiration even if it takes a month !!!!
I love the yellow color. It makes the space look sun-kissed.
Lovely bright and cheer full ❤❤❤❤❤

Waiting to see results 😊

Happy, bright color for the kitchen. What a project!
Wonderful, beautiful advice thanks, Colette💖💖💖
The yellow is looking so cheery! Some jobs can be quite overwhelming when you’re on your own but I’m with you - persevere…in small bites! We’ve done some “job sharing” with neighbours occasionally and this is usually outdoor work, like pruning and fencing and deck repair. Small bursts, lots of tea!💛🩷💚🐇

Paint job looks so good. Yes take one area/ block at a time. When you see what you have done your on the last leg now. Having just had my kitchen done by my son in law I know what you mean re dust. Your Will be so nice at end of this project. 😊😊
It’s just so lovely to sit in my home and enjoy your beautiful work and spaces. Thank you for such uplifting pieces!
It's really coming along . " inch by inch , lifes a cinch " ❤ your cottage is so wonderful; I love it heart and soul . 😊😊😊
When we have to deep clean our “stuff”, we really notice how much stuff there is. I have painting to do, and I’m trying to declutter. Its kind of a challenge for me, for a number of reasons. Your kitchen will be beautiful soon. Love the paint choice!
So beautiful!
You doing great 🌻🌻🌻🌻
Dear Colette, What an endeavor ! Bravo! time well spent and glad to know you are taking your time.
I have a
Cheerful and uplifting color! It really is cool to watch the transition bit by bit. TLC Collette ☺️👊🏼
That yellow is such a happy color! It'll make the greyest day brighter.
Love and blessings to you Colette. ❤
I love a yellow kitchen. Seems just right
I always love your videos! And that yellow is gorgeous 😍
I love the colour of the paint in the kitchen, it's so warm!! The clock.. that's very symbolic for sure. Blessings Colette!!
Everything looks great. I love the color.
Love the yellow paint! Good vibes. 😁
I love a light breeze. Your doing well Colette. Sounds like woodworm ,i fell through my lounge floor because of woodworm. 😢 Blessed Be. I cant start.
