For those of you who are hating on the violence of HongKong's protests, note these facts 1. The HongKong government, which is in fact directly controlled by China and is the evidence of the eroding principle of "One Country, Two Systems", arrogantly ignores all HongKongers have been asking for during the prolonged unrest, though we successfully mounted a 2 Billion people protest (the Biggest in HK history). 2. The frontline protesters get no salaries, risking their lives, facing potential imprisonment, spending all their money on gear whilst THE POLICE getting extra money from participating the crackdown , gearing up heavily, hitting protesters without any concerns of consequences (because their identity is veiled, not even their badge is shown). YOU TELL ME Which side DESERVES YOUR SUPPORT? 3. HongKongers are fighting for their freedom, the endgame of the soul of HongKong, they lost during the Umbrella revolution, and their leaders were all arrested. If peaceful protest had worked, the activist of the umbrella revolution would have been out here yelling victory laps. Time after time, it proved to the HongKongers that peaceful protest is futile, because even a 2billion people protest gains nothing, wt can u expect peaceful protest would achieve? 4. The Egg and The Wall, I will always be on side of the EGG. 在高大堅硬的牆和雞蛋之間,無論高牆是多麼正確,雞蛋是多麼錯誤,我永遠站在雞蛋那邊

They are white washing the narrative when they should of kept their end of the bargain. I don’t agree with any violence that’s happening from both sides but the fear of Chinese rule is real. I think the protesters now need to focus on what it is that has made them fear the CCP to better get their message across. People from China keep saying that HK don’t know what they are angry about. But I think HK needs to tell people what the fear is and focus on that.

D Miss 1. Freedom of speech, four or our people-selected legislative members were disqualified due to their speech 2. Freedom of electing our chief executive, that is, universal suffrage. 3. Freedom of assembly, how come a so called democratic city, in which people even profess it to be the world class city, doesn’t allow its citizens to assembly freely? The examples of freedom you just name, with a clear, yet you try to be subliminal, sarcasm, are irrelevant and invalid. How could an illegal behaviour be considered to be freedom? If your examples are sound, does it mean killing people is also part of the freedom? Don’t want to elaborate more, hope you understand
I was born in Hong Kong and am a permanent resident of the city and am living here now. I can tell you teenagers who lack true perspective are being exploited by local politicians to gain control of the government by propagating empty slogans of "democracy" and "freedom." For the record, the very same politicians who are decrying lack of democracy in Hong Kong were the ones who rejected a proposal in 2015 for universal suffrage to elect our Chief Executive. They have leveraged the political misstep by our Chief Executive in proposing an extradition bill to China (which philosophically was not improper) to perpetuate these protests, even after the government had stopped the proposal. The anti-extradition bill was only a front -- the protests arejust simply anti-government -- as can be seen by the bundled "Five Demands" deal which can easily be leveraged into perpetually being "not good enough" and therefore continuing the protests. Before these protests broke out, Hong Kong was the third freest place in the world -- we enjoyed freedom of mobility, freedom of speech, freedom of sexual orientation, freedom of religion and much more. Since the protest broke out, ordinary citizens like myself have lost the freedom of mobility -- we have to avoid certain locations in the city for fear of violent protests and our airport -- once the most efficient in the Asia -- is intermittently closed due to attacks by "peaceful" protesters. We have also lost the freedom of speech -- any expression of anti-protest sentiment, either online or physical, will be attacked by the pro-protest camp (as witnessed this week by a school teacher getting beaten on for signing the national anthem). I can pretty much bet this comment will solicit some unwanted comments. We have lost the freedom to choose what we wear -- wearing black can lead us into trouble. The situation is worrying, as the so-called "pro-democracy" camp intimidate ordinary citizens from speaking our minds, provoke the police (then cry wolf when the police enforce the law) and block true democratic progress in the city.
Yeah especially since some of them are literally biting the police. Only difference with resident evil is the policemen aren't allowed to be proactive.

Democracy is an ideal concept that is praised by most but it is not suitable for China. China has one of the largest population in the world and the only way to make it stable is communism and dictatorship. Though in the process, some freedom of the people is sacrificed but the country as a whole had grown in an immense rate. HK is and will forever be a part of China and the Chinese government will make sure HK falls in line eventually. Some HK people may not like it and are willing to fight for it. Though I do not agree with some of their methods, I admire their bravery. But in the end, HK WILL BE ASSIMILATED whether they like it or not. It's a sad truth but this is the way it works.
What did CCP do here? Hong Kong is part of China. Please remember what kind of freedom and democracy they had when the British governed them. What a shame. CCP gives them a lot of benefits including freedom and democracy. Don't know what they want more. Probably they don't know but CIA knows, since they are the mentors for those kids. Get hands off, CIA, stop ruining the next generation of Hong Kong.
These kids are too young to understand their country is becoming like Syria. They think this is thrilling but when things get worst, its impossible to undo it, freedom and democracy is the last thing you want when you dont have a job and home to begin with.
These kids moved by themselves. I just see the implusion. HK's issue is so complicate, don't be a chess. To politics, no wrong and right. Just benefit.
it is really hurting that young kids should fight on the street due to unsatisfactory level of freedom which had been settled by their parents' generation. I wish all these young kids will be safe.
Busy with working, they have jobs. But some of these "protesters" are literally making it harder for them to live their livelihoods. Blocking up traffic, destroying traffic lights, etc.. Not really helpful.

Why didn't the report ask more meaningful questions: "Why are they picking a fight?" "What do they hope to achieve?" "Have they thought how things may play out?" "You sound very brave and full of yourself when you say you may die, but do you have any real goal?"

For those of you who are hating on the violence of HongKong's protests, note these facts
在高大堅硬的牆和雞蛋之間,無論高牆是多麼正確,雞蛋是多麼錯誤,我永遠站在雞蛋那邊
ming yc China should of kept its promise and not do these preemptive changes which they say are for Hong Kong people to get used to Chinese rule but really how can you truly predict what the gov of China will be like in about 40 yrs.
U r moved by your self. I just see the implusion. HK's issue is so complicate, don't be a chess. To politics, no wrong and right. Just benefit.

I am always confused what kinda of 'freedom' are you guys asking for here? there is never any specific examples!!!
You have already had the freedom to attack anyone that disagree with you, The freedom to destroy the public infrastructure, The freedom to take away other's freedom.
Did not meant to argue with you, but i really would like to know what 'freedom' you are asking for and what 'freedom' that you think the Chinese government has taken away from you guys?
D Miss
1. Freedom of speech, four or our people-selected legislative members were disqualified due to their speech
The situation is worrying, as the so-called "pro-democracy" camp intimidate ordinary citizens from speaking our minds, provoke the police (then cry wolf when the police enforce the law) and block true democratic progress in the city.
culture revolution is playing in H.K.
this lady is gonna get them busted
5:30 narrating "Riot gear" while showing safety helmets..... interesting, New York Times, interesting
The safety helmets should be the best they can get. Yes just toys when comparing with the helmets of the police.
This protestors think it’s like an real life GTA game but for the police i think to them it’s like an real life Resident Evil ...
Yeah especially since some of them are literally biting the police. Only difference with resident evil is the policemen aren't allowed to be proactive.
阿猫仔 lmfao, so true!
Now you can see after summer we still standing to fight for our freedom
You want freedom, right?
So, you can just get out of Hong Kong and hug your American father, can't you?
Just sell anything you have and go to America. You can get your freedom, can't you?
@@mercurytim5964 why are you guys always linking this protest to the USA? Just because there are some people bringing the us flag to the street doesn't mean that we like the US, we are just trying to gain attention from country's all over the world . Use your brain and stop watching the china news FFS
Mercury Tim looking for freedom doesn’t mean hv to get out of hk n go to us. From ur message, it shows that u agree there is no freedom in hk. Btw Freedom is what human deserves n NO NEED to fight for. We are just getting back what we should hv as hk ppl. Stop linking everything to us when u really hv no idea what s happening in hk.
@@ben.c5964 You people begged Donald Trump to save you by writing the words on a plate... Nobody wants to link but HKers did it.
Protests come from government, when they did anything most of residents do not agree. If the government does things well, no protests happen.
So heart broken to see these youngsters out there, fighting for what they want for their future.
I am curious if he is been arested, his dad must be heart broken.
Stay true to your cause no matter what
Thank you.
look at these kids, so smart. Hong Kong has such a bright future :)))
Bruh I went to Hong Kong last month and this is literally wat i saw
I'm sure all their parents know
Like the parents know their kids are fighting the ccp
What did CCP do here? Hong Kong is part of China. Please remember what kind of freedom and democracy they had when the British governed them. What a shame. CCP gives them a lot of benefits including freedom and democracy. Don't know what they want more. Probably they don't know but CIA knows, since they are the mentors for those kids. Get hands off, CIA, stop ruining the next generation of Hong Kong.
Bob McNutt that’s some hardcore conspiracy nutjob you got here.
Breathing in too much chemtrails?

Keeping up with your fighting for your freedom.
These kids are too young to understand their country is becoming like Syria. They think this is thrilling but when things get worst, its impossible to undo it, freedom and democracy is the last thing you want when you dont have a job and home to begin with.
they said for fun, fun, fun, fun....are they really know what they are doing?
they want to ruin their economy. When HK economy will fall. No More Maids... they will now learn to fry their own eggs and wash their clothes.
They’re obviously being sarcastic
idk
they never know WTF they are doing, fighting against China as a citizen is basically like trying to survive jumping into a volcano, its impossible
They know that it's not a game. It's their life and future on the line. Dissociating from it just makes it easier.
They are not ready for China to flex.. They have heart but need support
It is so sad that only the young people come out to protect this city . Where are the adults ?
gracewong9999 Simple, because adults have different points
Busy with working, they have jobs. But some of these "protesters" are literally making it harder for them to live their livelihoods. Blocking up traffic, destroying traffic lights, etc.. Not really helpful.
This kid told the truth at the end: he was very disappointed as people didn't stay for the final violence that night.
Brave teens! Love Hong Kong! From Indonesia
And so many across the world believe that what's going on in Kashmir is India's internal matter.
As you see, no any west media focus kashmir, they all keep eye on
hongkong. so forget It , taking machince gun and fighting
Ofcourse it's India internal matter
Such acts of sheer courage, bold defiance and witty tactics are nothing short of astounding and breathtaking! Salute to the HK Students with our utmost respect! "The Weak are Strong" is what you have shown the world! We are fortunate enough to witness such a thing in our life time. Furthermore, through your actions but not words, you have caused the most wicked and coercive regime to display its true nature right at the face of the whole world, over a long hot summer. Your plea to the free world to take a stand with you is captivating and taking profound effect.
Your yearn for freedom and justice is loud and clear and, that is what the free world stands for.
Dear Students of HK, so many hearts are touched and so many tears are shed for what you have done in this long suffering summer - for the city you love and for yourselves! There are no words to express our gratitude and embarrassment, for we have done next to nothing in the past to provide a better future for you.
Now, multitudes of the older folks in the community and around the world, who also love this city dearly, are standing firm together and ready to support you and keep you with absolute commitment. So, please don’t forget: YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
Now, commencing a new school year, we beg you to take time to enjoy living a normal adolescent life in the days to come - eat some good food, tell some bad jokes and do some silly things together with your pals(and return to your video games, of course), for you rightfully deserve all that.
And, please, don't hold any grudge and don't let any raw anger take hold of you. Please don't lose heart and have faith that justice and vengeance will come in due course; time is on your side. Until that day, let some of us older folks step up to take the hardship and hurt in your place. We are the ones who should have stood on the front line, but not you our beloved young ones. Because you truly are the future of HK (not the CPC). Not only that, indeed YOU ARE THE FUTURE OF THE FREE WORLD - the whole world has been awaken and shaken by your righteous cry, sheer courage and powerful conviction! We will fight together. We will carry on for you.
This will be a long drawn battle(it's not a game and you know that), but we will not waver or yield for one second until total victory comes(when we see each other face-to-face without the masks). Victory will come because you have been fighting with might and brought hope, and the CPC and its parasites are hopeless. Fight on, Young Guns!!
Support the students. CPC has no place in this world.
touching!
