I'm really looking forward to a plugin that actually emulates Dan Worrall. If he presents the walkthrough it may result in a type of feedback that shifts us to another dimension of reality. Or we all all get teleported to Planet Dan.

I call that the #danworrall effect. do not watch Dan's product run throughs if you are not willing to part with a dollar. Also- THIS is an awesome tool ;]
I spent many years in the studio recording straight to cassette and then duplicating and distributing my mixtapes. This plugin sounds incredibly close to the real thing. I have to get my hands on it!
My favorite use is Satin with compander encoder only + Cassette + Satin compander decoder only with tape bypassed. Sounds better than just using cassette alone. Add crostalk on 1st satin and on cassette (how much you want) Can get bright, punchy and glued lofi master. Encoder: type-b, decoder: type-a mod, low bias and gap width, speed 7.25, circuit 7.25 on first satin, flat on second. But you can experiment with different circuits and encoder/decoder ofc, to get brighter or darker sound and different compression.
I’ve been looking for something like this for many years, so, despite the fact I’m penniless and haven’t bought a plug-in for years, I bought it before I’d even finished watching the video! I’ve demoed loads of similar plugins and effects chains in the past, but this just nails everything that’s important. Thanks!
@@Also_Ran I don't know. Maybe you had tried both. Sketch Cassette was to my knowledge the most authentic sounding. So I was just curious if this one was better in some areas. Maybe I should demo it and figure out ;)
What I remember about a cassette was how much we hated what it did to the 2trk scratch mix we'd just done after we spent all night recording, as we handed them out to the band members who had been asleep in the lobby waiting...
I love this plugin. It is awesome. Probably the best tape plugin, well... for cassette anyway. It goes above and beyond to be quite honest, and is also great as a creative tool too for various sound design purposes.
I use Cassette since i tried it a few moth ago, well, and i just realised it can do a lot more things that i was aware of. Amazing stuff ! @Mr Worrall: you and the guy behind all Analog Obssession plugins are standing out in such amazings ways. It sometimes leaves me speachless. You both are mad geniuses, with good hearts and huge balls. You are true heros to me!
As a kid I thought I was something of an audio afficionado . I refused to move on to CD until about 1993. I stupidly believed that tape was not only a superior sound but also somehow more true to the spirit in which the music was made. What a pretentious twat I was. It amuses me that nowadays people are yearning for that tape sound once again. I even saw sample packs that were only available on cassette the other month! There's no doubt that a touch of C90 here n there can do great things to your sound but I wonder how the Youth would deal with real tape in their lives?? All that said, I think this a great plug-in.
I'm excited to demo this, looks and sounds great. I think for my workflow I would have liked a drawer at the bottom of the plugin for easier access to the wow and flutter controlls.
Might not be the same, probably not, but in Ableton I choose the Re-pitch algo before I double the length (half speed). Can't figure out though if I have have to record it with Cassette tape emulation on before I do that or use it after.
I bought my Technics rack-mount preamp (back in the '70s) because I could do tape tape dubbing (A to B or B to A) in the background, whilst listening to the main input. That last shot of two Cassette plugins side by side brings back memories!
Am trying to think of a scenario where I could apply this magic to a voiceover reel. No, can't think of one. But I'm gonna keep thinking. Fancy this toy.
But I miss a lot! I want a Tape selector where I can choose extra wrong positions. Also an MPX filter would be very useful especially if you had a original License Dolby-B/C/S and DBX Noisereductions available. That's what I've been locking for a long time. In addition, my favorite cassette types SA-X and MA-R are missing.
Were you expecting the tape to run out or need switching sides? That would be an oddly specific level of attention to detail! Maybe there'll be a hidden feature where the tape gets randomly tangled and you have to spend an hour and a half meticulously untangling it.
I never noticed a change in performance from the tape being erased. Sometimes it wouldn't erase completely and needed another pass for complete silence but that was it. The damage and dropouts from stopping and rewinding the tape however were annoying, and that pre-recorded tape were slammed against 0 without any treble.
I was hoping this was a New Type Cassette deck! I have hundreds of tapes made from back in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Just like I have hundreds of reel to reel tapes and 5 Reel to Reel Decks. 4 Akai GX 280D SS and a Teac 2340R. I even still have unused never opened Reel to Reel Tape and Cassettes for when I want to record something new or again. Vinyl is coming back so why not tape too!
To this day, I miss the cassette more than any other piece of recording gear. When I used 2” tape as my main format, I rolled cassettes all the time. I even used side three way too often. I spent real money on my cassette recorder and the tapes, but still, we’re talking affordable. I had a lovely 1/4” and 1/2” MCI but rolling that all day was just too much $. If I had an assistant, which was almost always back then, I had them write right on the cassette when something golden happened, and stash it immediately. If there were no notes at the end of a session, I’d toss those in the trash to keep things simpler. You could do that with cassettes. To this day I have master mixes on cassette. I’m not happy about that, and at the time I was furious with myself, but some of them are now records. I really miss cassettes.
Yes yes yes.... how awesome is that. Instant buy for me. Please add a dry/ wet knob for mixing purpose and to emulate degrading over time effects with DAW automation. Thank you.

Ha grew up with tapes, we were glad to see the back of them quality and convenience wise. But there was something nice and tactile about opening a fresh tape and writing the song listing in the sleeve.
i just got this plugin but every time i open it in ableton the interface on it goes blank and turns black before i can even put in the activation number how could i fix this ?
It's a good thing interface scalability is there, too many plugins have huge and unnecessarily spaceous interfaces that just take up screen realestate and are in the way. I wish more plugin manufacturers would consider more the usability than the aesthetics of their user interfaces...

give it a rewind audio feature...And also make the rewind feature have various options for rewind (various speeds) & rewind the audio in question, not just a fake rewind sound that all the other plugins do.
Works best on late 70s early 80s music. I wonder why there isn't a vinyl to cassette effect or attempting to cut the Radio DJ out of the beginning and ending of the track but failing effect. Or even a Hainbach effect.
If Dan Worrall read audio books, I would subscribe to audible
He could read the ingredients list to enriched flour and I’d listen to it
I buy everything that Dan Worrall presents.
