    Can you control your thoughts?
No, for thoughts are not your own.
In fact, the thoughts control you…when you believe them.
Which, for someone who does not know God, is all of the time.

I recognize I was always trying to push emotions away and thoughts. Such a rigid way of being and so much energy and pakn going into supressing and running from it.

Thank you for this and I thank God for showing me your channel and ministry it is a huge blessing to me right now as I am in a very difficult season but also a season of huge growth in my walk with my Heavenly Father! You truly are are a brother from a different mother for me right now! I resonate with everything you are saying in this video and also laughing out loud throughout! Oh how I wish the Church was addressing these root issues head on, so much freedom would be experienced!!

My dad used the analogy of hair growing for learning the skill of painting. It's difficult to be patient for growth. I appreciate the breakdown of the metric of progress because I often don't see the progress, only the faults. Really good tip to walk in a stance of love and 'setting a compass ' is a memorable visualization. I had to listen to the end twice because of the really good demonstration on how to refocus in love.

I have not watched this fully yet however from the question the answer for me at least is yes, first step for me was to become mindful of my thoughts and than any I do not like I stop and say hey I am in control of my thought and I send my mind blank, also understanding where they come from to start with helps a lot. (which you do a great video on that I have listen to many times)
Yes it can be done but like all things you must work at it and it gets way easier really quick if you are mindful or for me it did, even after all this sometimes bs thoughts still slip in and I must redo my steps of going blank and telling the thought to Foff as I am in control of my thoughts not something else and those thoughts are not welcome in my mind. Cough cough devil and is minions. (this happen very rare now)
Anyways it has got to a point where my mind is much much quieter and to be honest it was scary when that first happened as my mind had never been so quiet before, it felt like something was missing like I had lost a friend but in time I got used to it and could never go back to the billion random thoughts going through my head a day.
After watching your video it is clear we have taken different steps to get the same outcome and what works for some may not work for others, I will have to respectful disagree with you about control as in my opinion if you dont take control of your thought something else will. Whether that be media, your friends or the devil and his minions someone else will take control because as we both know thoughts come from different places and the devil wants control over those thoughts and will do everything in its power to get a stronghold going in your mind if you are not in control of it.
At first it may be draining to be mindful of all your thoughts however in time less and less thoughts you need to be mindful of will come due to your mindfulness of them and it is no longer draining but quick and easy to take back control over what you allow in, all my opinion from my own exp and doing what I described has done wonders for me and my thought patterns.
Can you ever be in full control ? prob not TBH but you sure as hell can make it hard for unwanted thoughts to get in and easily kick them out if and when they do by being mindful.

I think the reason I have trouble receiving your message of love because everything you teach seems to be the opposite of what I learned from my past church and it's hard to believe different.

I know it’s a bit random, but in the anime Re: Zero, the main character, Subaru, gets told not to look down, but to look straight ahead. It’s the same idea, since his thoughts were clouded when he was looking down, but when he looked ahead, he could see the journey for what it was.

    Much love ❤️
    Daniela r.

This video was so helpful. Where I get confused when it comes to scripture is how often it refers to self control, i.e. the fruit of the Spirit. In the verses that talk about self-control actually refer to our behaviors?

Mark I have a question can you rewire your brain if you have OCD should I read bible verses to rewire my brain and meditate?

    • @danielschnell1759
      @danielschnell1759 7 місяців тому +1

Yes, I absolutely recommend reading and meditating on Bible verses. I’ve been doing this, and God is gradually freeing my mind from ocd more and more each day. The truth of God’s word is the best replacement for unwanted thoughts and lies.
      Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
      John 8:32 (NKJV)
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
      Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
