    Is somewhere in the middle a step 3a : switch from hillside to toeside by rotating the board 180deg? Probably before you switch your legs.

    Great in flat water not that easy when navigating between sets in the break.

    That 'fancy' turn is possible under 2 conditions: good wind power (13+ knots), kite with good lift, not heavy board, and good speed right before turn... Definitely not for the beginners.
