Very fluid ! I think I did it during my latest session but this is pure coincidence :-) I was trying to ride and transition toeside for the first time but pulled my front hand too hard and this triggered the down loop during the transition...that was soooooooo cool to feel the extra power this gives ! Now need to do it but on purpose :-) thanks for your videos !
Unbelievably, at the beginning of 2021, this video has accumulated 22 thumbs down. I'll bet not one of the losers that gave a thumbs down could come close to doing such a fluid pop to toe side plus toe to heel transition as Blake just demonstrated. That was a thing of great beauty from a master. A couple of additional pointers: - In terms of timing, follow the kite. No need to overthink. Basically, you will know when it is time to initiate the carve because the kite will tell you. - For a variation on the 'kite across the top of the window' approach and achieve a really aggressive, full-on, carve, you can send the kite really low (and basically horizontally) across the window. Ithis can generate at least as much pull as a down loop, is certainly, more consistent and predictable, and has the decided advantage of having less vertical component to the pull and therefore less chance of getting ripped off your new heel side edge during the carve.
I prefer to downloop krank the kite at high speed, hold the same edge and make the whole turn till you establish the new toeside edge on the other tack, then ollie back to heelside.
Great video! I got one question blake:) I loop my kind on toeside transitions by pulling the back hand, which works just fine. However you recommended pulling the front hand. How do those two variations differ..?
Eric Sholomon I like that idea. It's all preference. Kiteboarding is about having fun and half the fun is challenging yourself. Unhooked riding is another fun skill set to work on. It feels more liberated and open like other board sports. It also takes a bit more energy. Cheers! - Rygo

I realized I pull my front hand and not my backhand, so never mind haha
All good Tim, next week we will teach you how to loop it by pulling on your backhand!
Blake Olsen make sure to mention me in the video;)
Is there any advantage to riding unhooked? Maybe a good topic for another video?
