    I've never used a spray gun to paint. I can't believe how fast and efficient they are. Incredible.

    I bought a newer home and the previous owner didn't treat or paint the fence and it's looking horrible already. So doing my research I found your channel. I just wanted to let you know this particular video (watched a few others already) was exactly what I needed. Asking the guys questions the way you did was superb touch too as I learned so much. So thank you so much and really appreciate the information. I am less intimated because of your videos. :)

    Just wanted to jump in and thank you very much for your videos. I have been a subscriber for a long time now and you are my go-to guy anytime I am tackling a paint project. I spent 2 days (with 2 helpers) using my old HVLP sprayer and hardly made a dent in my huge fence staining job (over 4200 sq ft). After the 2nd day I watched another of your videos again using an airless. I ordered it that night and the accessories from your Amazon page (20 inch extension and cardboard shield holder). I got it last yesterday and man-o-man it is wonderful. Turns hours into minutes...if I compared my airless sprayer to my HVLP it is like fiber network high speed internet compared to dial up (a brush method would be like a rotary phone in this comparison lol). Anyway - just had to thank you for making these videos so professional and easy to watch. Love the bloopers too :-) You really have made a huge difference to me and many others I am sure. Cheers mate.

      Update. Finished the other side fence. That back brushing was an awesome tip. Not only did it help fill the voids in the rough sawn timber palings, it also evened out the paint, allowing for more coverage. It also helped me finish the job within the 10 litre tin, didn’t have to get more :)

    • @royalstevep68
      @royalstevep68 4 роки тому

      @@chrisfi3d you must back brush when using a sprayer. I hand painted about 14 x 6ft panels with extra foot of trellis with a brush well they are custom made 8 foot wide panels. Took bloody ages but looks pretty good and even. Tried a pump sprayers, total garbage, so just got a wagner sprayer to see if thats better and quicker.

    • @chrisfi3d
      @chrisfi3d 4 роки тому

      sp royals - hand painting that amount you did takes some dedication and patience. In my case, I used a cheapish Ozito spray gun and did about 120 metres wide by 2 metres high. When I stoped for that lunch break, I was about to start on the front fences. Man did that back brushing (using a fence brush) make all the difference after watching this video. The spray guns are great but got to watch and protect your overspray areas. Drop sheets on ground etc. The Wagner guns should be great. Really clean them out and get your viscosities on point and makes a tedious job much less work.

    it isn't clear if you're simply linking to the individual manufacturers, if you are charging more/less than paint stores, or if it is actually a "store" in the sense that you have a physical inventory of everything that you got at a discount.
    Only reason I mention it is that if I was clearer about the specifics (let's say it's 10% more than home depot), I would rather buy my stuff from you than them. But I'm not sure I want to investigate first. Maybe a sentence or two clarifying that would be cool on some videos.

      nice. Amazon does so much shot here in seattle that its being a web-site first is almost irrelevant to its services.
      And thanks for the videos. The night before my first day I watched you mask windows for a sprayer, did it once at home (experienced with paper but not plastic) and day one when the boss came around the corner I was masking like a son of a bitch and could ask for several dollars above his starting wage because of it. Hello, we live in Bulverde, TX, 78163. Could you recommend a fence stainer in our area or location where I could find one. It is a new fence, installed April 2019 and has discoloration do the sprinkler system. Never painted or stained before, so it is totally new to me. We are new to the area so everybody is coming around selling something at relatively high, really high prices.

    Is there a sprayer system less expensive that would give a great performance a well?

      any low end graco or titan would do fine. titan 440i or graco 395 are contractor grade if your gonna use the sprayer a lot. if not you can buy cheap junk graco at homedepot that would do the job just not last long...or just rent one from Sherwin Williams

    How did you avoid the gun spitting using the 30 inch extension? I didn't see Graco clean shot on the end of it. Thanks for your time

      Doom Slayer I was thinking the low pressure tip might help with the spitting. Titan makes a spit valve as well as head I but cracks is his able at the end of the extension

      your not gonna see spits on the fence plush they are back brushing it. they usually control the spits by knowing where to stop and start. the spits or so small you would never see them on a cedar fence.

      We haven't used it on interior walls, but I imagine it would be okay

    Great tips thank you. That stain color is so ugly. It ruined the beauty of the wood
