Was about to message you following your Newsletter email saying that a video version would be super helpful for our community and you read my mind. Great video. Jazakumullahu khyra for this. It's so hard to convince people who keep getting scammed to stop investing in these Ponzi schemes and scams . This video will be a great help.
An excellent awareness, I wish I knew about this before investing in MLM ponzi led by Muslim guys duping and scamming us. Thankfully I made my story vocal and caught the attention of BBC Panorama as to warn others. Everything in the video makes sense how I got duped and fallen into it by the local Muslim community scammers. Thank you Ibrahim for always doing your best.
@laylabegum9304 thanks for being brave enough to share your story, I imagine it would have saved numerous people from falling victim to other scams. May Allah reward you
The amount of Muslims scamming through MLM is astonishing and they use Islam to promote it too. Only Allah knows there outcome as taking haqq of others is a major sin Allah wont forgive, the matter is with you and that person
Barakallahu feek for a very important video! If I could add the importance for us muslims to not fall for scammers' fomo sales tactics. Remember that rizq is written from Allah. Be content with whatever we have. And make salatul istikhara before making any financial decisions. This will help relax the nerves so we can make a more informed and responsible decision in Shaa Allah.
I’m glad you included scammers selling courses, at extortionate prices, for information which is readily available online. This has become a big issue and I personally know a young relative of mine who fell for this and lost a lot of money. The fact you have included this demonstrates your sincerity, honesty and integrity in a world full of snake oil salesmen selling dreams of getting rich quick.
I was scammed for $25,000 in India. That is an amount that takes a decade to make in India, the organization openly claimed and preached to be interest free Halal trading in Gold and forex, the CEO is pretending to be a devout muslim yet she scammed 10's of thousands of Muslims and took $$$Billions, the community is broken and many people lost everything because of her.
The worst thing about these scams are it breaks families and friendship. Also some blame lies with the people that invest in these ...come on who gives double digit returns for 10/20k investment unless it's high risk
I think we Muslims tend to trust each other a lot. If you see someone get duped, intervene. When I was new to America (one year in), this lady from Masjid offered to give me free facial and said it was part of company policy Mary Kay. I had no idea about MLM. When my friends and I gathered, she gave a very basic skin care session and then took us to the room one by one and bullied us into buying her products. I refused, but she took 5 or 7 more numbers of others from me so she could text them. I get this would have been just 50 bucks wasted had I paid, but it still made me question my habit of trusting fellow Muslims blindly. Plus, yes, she was trying to recruit me as well, and I had to remind her my visa didn’t allow me to work.
Glad you're one of the first ppl to call muslim scammers using islam as a guise. My husband was scammed about £20k from a ponzi like scheme from a UK registered company. He managed to recover the money through the Natwest bank after a thorough investigation which took a few months. And another £20k because an off plan property dubai company had gotten hacked into and managed to send emails to their clients my husband included and asked for payment to another bank account that appeared to have the same company Name but obviously it was going into someone's personal account. Terrible thing is the Dubai are not helpful and the company has not taken any responsibility, neither are any of the banks involved helpful. Lesson taken from this is do your due diligence, put your tawakkul in Allah. Have receipts via emails, texts message, bank transactions etc all recorded.
I know someone who was scammed by Tanim buying his £10K property course spread over 12 months of so called coaching (It was a hard sell for halal business without riba). He requested to get out within the first month but was informed this was non-refundable 🤦🏽.
And no this is not trolling. It’s extremely disturbing and stressful to lose £10K+ of your life savings. The scheme was sold as a halaal property business coaching program to achieve financial independence. My only purpose to comment here is to save and warn others from making same mistake. From the comments by others I was obviously not alone who fell for this scam.
If these products are not scams, the seller should be able to show real proof of making money and should be able to put their own money where their mouth is.
We got duped by a Muslim from our mosque thanks God it was only 800. Unfortunately we went to seminar guy said he is from good Christian family we fell for it lost 85k. In our retirement age😢
You should mention risk and return dynamics. Earning 5% is not embarrassing if your money is safe. High returns and greed is what drives a lot of the financially illiterate investors out there and more often then not they are the ones who can least afford to lose money.
**Why Our Community Matters** As a community, we often struggle with greed and the desire for money. This reluctance makes us hesitant to lend (قرض حسنہ) to our Muslim brothers and sisters. While we may think it wise to invest our money for profit, we sometimes forget that offering support to a fellow Muslim can yield far greater rewards from Allah. We must also be mindful of riba (usury). Many members of our Muslim community, whether directly or indirectly, end up investing in riba. Let us strive to be kind and supportive Muslims within our community.
Its the norm nowadays. Very sad unfortunately. Even your own family will rob you blind and put you on the street. Allhamdolillah to Allah the almighty magnificent ❤❤
No matter what happens you remember nothing happens without the will of Allah SWT. Whatever happened, happened for a reason . Ask Allah SWT to replace it with something better. Allah SWT is the one who gives and takes , Alhamdulilah ⚖️
Don’t trust anyone with your money especially if they have a Muslim name, shame on us that it’s come to this. Just give charity. Curse those scam merchants
What is missing from such cautionary videos is the part about how to deal with the aftermath. How does one manage the impact and the lingering effects of being scammed? Let's face it, no matter how smart we may think we are, we are bound to get scammed at least once in our life. So we should also tell people how to cope with the aftermath, especially the shame that comes with the realization that you got scammed because you were not smart enough to spot the con. I speak from personal experience when I say that the emotional and psychological toll of getting scammed can weigh heavy on the soul.
The aftermath is actually quite simple... take the loss, learn from it (emphasis on this very point) and move on. Like the 5 stages of grief. Admittedly easier said than done but its the reality
Another perspective from which to look at it is - knowing and acknowledging that nothing happens without Allah’s permission and it could be that this has been destined for you in order to allow you gain an awareness that will save you from a bigger calamity later in life. Know that Allah is Generous and Kind and He would not allow a believer to suffer any hardship without decreeing something beneficial for them in it. So, I would encourage you to make dua’a to Allah to replace what you have lost with something better in this life and hereafter. And maintain confidence that your dua’a has been answered.
You get all the training and support they tell you, however all their 'risk free' statements are false because they don't mention the £thousands in ad fees you loose even if you were to get your enrolment fee back
