It’s an awesome PawPaw that makes a good man like you Kagen. So sorry for your loss. I became a Pawpaw 17 months ago. I’ve been taking my daughter fishing since she was old enough to walk and I hope to be able to do the same with my grand daughter. Keep your head up, your paw paw is in a better place. You have his memories, his boat, and a beautiful wife. What more could a man ask for. I love your videos, take care of yourself. Tight lines brother.

First time viewing your channel. I'm pushing 63 yrs old and it was an uncle of mine who put the love of nature in me at the age of 15 or so. I only hunt now with a camera but I still love to fish when I can. It seems like everyone has that special person who plants the seeds of the outdoors in us and the greatest thing we can do is pass it along to someone else. No better way to honor your love for your paw paw.

Kagen, your grand dad is always going to be in a better place. And you better know that he's always looking down on all of you. I'm almost positive he's very proud of you as well as the rest of y'all.
My father in law still is fighting pancreatic cancer, I , on the other hand came in to remission two months ago, with the notion in the back of my mind if it'll come back in a different form.
God bless you, sharing this with us allows everyone to know that life is too precious .
Thank you for your service to us as a medical profession. And brother, tight line's never stop.

My grandpa is the person that got me into the outdoors too I try to go down to Wharton from Houston every chance I get to spend time with him and get my land ready for deer season. Sorry for your loss man, I will try to spend even more time with him now!

Really sorry for your loss ! You were lucky to have a grandpa that took you hunting and fishing and instilled the love of those sports and the love of nature in you. I had to learn all that on my own. I know you think of him every time you take the boat out but he is with you every time ! Thanks for that story of how you got the boat. Keep your powder dry and your lines tight !!!!!!!!!!!

Keagan you left me without words I lost my father to cancer also very hard to say good bye. As we both know the good lord has a special plan for all of us! We need to remember them for what they were in our lives because they are so much alive in our hearts. God bless your PawPaw and bless you you now have a special angel watching over you with a big smile from heaven as he is so proud of you! ..... your friend, Beto

Sorry to hear about your Pawpaw. My pawpaw passed away from lung cancer when I was 17. That was 16 years ago. It hit me hard. My pawpaw use to ask me to go fishing with him all the time he instilled that big in me. But when he passed I did touch a rod and reel for about 10 years. It was hard for me to get out and fish without him. But now when I hook on a nice fish on those hard days we’re your just having no luck I know he set it there. Thanks for making great videos and keep fishing in his honor.

That was a little black drum. When they’re small they have black stripes and when they get big they turn into big ole uglies! Sorry to hear about your grandpa man. It’s really nice of him to give you that nice boat. With that boat, he’ll always be with you. Take care and good luck on the water

Great video bud. I’m sorry for your loss. And I’m sure he’s smiling down on you you every time your take that boat out. That aluminum boat should last you forever so you’ll always have a piece of him with you. My pawpaw is also the one to blame for my lengthy fishing trips and sits in the woods during deer season. He showed me the way and the love for the outdoors over 20+ years ago now. He’s almost 82 and I try to take him fishing as much as I can. I dread the day that we won’t be able to go together anymore. I feel for you brother and again sorry for your loss. Keep the videos coming maybe we will run into one another down there on the coast one day

Sorry for your loss, cancer runs in our family too much. My grandpa passed of brain cancer when I was very little. Fishing and hunting runs on both sides of my family, my dad is who got me into fishing at a very young age (2 years old), and guess what, that’s all I ever want to do now.

Aloha Kagen, I was worried you betrayed your fellow Solo Skiffers selling out for a bigger boat. But NO you did not, you are carrying on a family legacy by taking over your mentor, your grandpa's boat. The boat is a family heirloom you'll never sell but pass on to one of your kids in the future. I hope you still make Solo Skiff videos but great to see you in your grandpa's boat, he would be proud. Deepest sympathies and condolences to you and your family on your loss. Keep up the great videos. Aloha a hui hou.

My PaPa passed away in February. He was the reason I became a firefighter/paramedic and he was also my fishing mentor. I will always remember our trips on Texoma chasing Stripers around. He didn't have a boat when he passed, but He did leave me a dozen or so tackle boxes full of stuff. Some of it was lures that were still in the original packages and are older than I am (48). I am so glad you shared this story. I love watching your trips and hope to get back down to the coast sometime soon. Fish on brotha... Thank you!

Really enjoy your videos and have learned quite a bit. This one got to me. My grandfather passed in 2018. Like yours, he was my gateway to the outdoors. Ultimately his gift to me after his passing allowed me to live in Crystal Beach TX.. I have a boat and love spending time in Galveston bay. Proud grandsons make great men.. Hope to see you out there one day!
