Undead Nightorc Gnomes and Goblins are literally the incarnation of RNG. Every single Gnome is for example RNG, whilst most Goblins are explosive-ish. This will be a fun expansion, not a serious one. Hearthstone is not a serious game and clearly caters to the casual players. Competitive players just have to live with it and it is about time a company actually does this.

You fail to take into account that, when i was younger, we'd take the hockey net out and play street hockey with the daycare kids. We even had police officers join us from time to time. If we tried that now, the daycare would probably be shut down for "endangering children". Our society is too focused on "protection" that we now suffocate children. So is doesn't surprise me this is T since T basically = the PG13 rating in movies... and when was the last time you saw a movie rated G that wasn't directed at toddlers and preschoolers?

I would go to the park by myself or with a couple friends my age. I would be given a Walkie talky that has a 2 KM range. There were 4 parks within that distance, all my mom needed was to know what park i am at, and to radio every 5-10 minutes to let her know i was okay or coming home. Oh and dont think i lived in a small place. I lived in montreal at the time.

The mild suggestive themes would be cards like the Succubus, the blood perhaps in some characters like Patchwerk, and alcohol in the wooden mugs you see the Innkeeper toting about from day to day? Also, mutagenic drugs.

What's with all the "OMG the RNG of this expansion!!!" I read in the comments? Its a card game. The enemy you're put against is RNG. The first card u draw each turn is complete RNG. Arena is a complete RNGfest. The best stories don't come from a Yeti killing an Azure Drake and getting a 2-for-1, it comes from Mad Bomber killing 2 one-health minions and getting an undeserved 3-for-1. If you don't like RNG, play chess or checkers. Cause the foundation of every single cardgame is RNG. And though I admit that a lot of cards enhance the RNG even more, just do your statistics calculations. tl;dr RNG is fun to watch.
Card draw, opponent selection, and drafting tournaments are all expected and accepted RNG. The problem people have with these cards being RNG focused is that it doesn't leave room for serious competitive play. All card games have serious competitive play and have had tournaments at some point, and more often then not RNG focused cards aren't played, and if they are, they are the least RNG, meaning you play them when you know all outcomes will benefit you. For me, all my best stories are ones where I play a series of cards in a strategic manner that go together very well, that my opponent doesn't have an answer for, and I win. Yeah, I've had plenty of wins with RNG cards before, but I would never consider those wins for my best stories, because I don't consider stupid luck wins to be solid wins, which means not best story quality, just good story. I'm fine with having a few RNG cards. But I'd like to see a good chuck of more solid/quality cards that I know they will do what I want them to. The preferred spread on this expansion for me, would be at most 30 RNG cards with 90 solid competitive cards(that way we don't see all the same solid competitive cards in the competitive games/tournaments). But considering what Blizzard said, this expansion will be a bunch of random bullshit. Also with what they said, Blizzard doesn't even get why good players win in their card game. The people that play in their tournaments are winning with strategies that focus on as little RNG as possible with solid card power strategies, where the RNG cards they do use are ones that can be used strategically at times where the outcome has no RNG or barely any if at all.
Sonic Doctor Here's the logic I've heard concerning the massive RNG focus of the expansion. RNG adds unpredictability, and unpredictability is what makes the game challenging. Very few of the new cards give a significant advantage to either player simply through RNG, and the few that do can't do so consistently. The purpose of the added RNG is to raise the skill cap of the game; only experienced players who know how to think on their feet will be able to use Spare Parts and activate "random" effects to their maximum potential. Sure, you'll never know what will come out of a Piloted Shredder. But it's the mark of a skilled player to know how to deal with whatever comes out, be it a Novice Engineer or a Millhouse Manastorm.

***** wrong and right. RNG cards are fun to mess around with for casual, non-competitive play. As for competitive they just would go unused. If the 6 or 7 cards they revealed are any indication of whats to come then they seem to be fairly sinergetic with some RNG here and there.

Special packs. Just like normal packs but only cards from the expansion. When buying packs you can choose which one you want.
What's with all the "OMG the RNG of this expansion!!!" I read in the comments? Its a card game. The enemy you're put against is RNG. The first card u draw each turn is complete RNG. Arena is a complete RNGfest. The best stories don't come from a Yeti killing an Azure Drake and getting a 2-for-1, it comes from Mad Bomber killing 2 one-health minions and getting an undeserved 3-for-1. If you don't like RNG, play chess or checkers. Cause the foundation of every single cardgame is RNG. And though I admit that a lot of cards enhance the RNG even more, just do your statistics calculations.
tl;dr RNG is fun to watch.
Card draw, opponent selection, and drafting tournaments are all expected and accepted RNG.
The problem people have with these cards being RNG focused is that it doesn't leave room for serious competitive play. All card games have serious competitive play and have had tournaments at some point, and more often then not RNG focused cards aren't played, and if they are, they are the least RNG, meaning you play them when you know all outcomes will benefit you.
For me, all my best stories are ones where I play a series of cards in a strategic manner that go together very well, that my opponent doesn't have an answer for, and I win. Yeah, I've had plenty of wins with RNG cards before, but I would never consider those wins for my best stories, because I don't consider stupid luck wins to be solid wins, which means not best story quality, just good story.
I'm fine with having a few RNG cards. But I'd like to see a good chuck of more solid/quality cards that I know they will do what I want them to.
The preferred spread on this expansion for me, would be at most 30 RNG cards with 90 solid competitive cards(that way we don't see all the same solid competitive cards in the competitive games/tournaments). But considering what Blizzard said, this expansion will be a bunch of random bullshit. Also with what they said, Blizzard doesn't even get why good players win in their card game. The people that play in their tournaments are winning with strategies that focus on as little RNG as possible with solid card power strategies, where the RNG cards they do use are ones that can be used strategically at times where the outcome has no RNG or barely any if at all.
Sonic Doctor Here's the logic I've heard concerning the massive RNG focus of the expansion. RNG adds unpredictability, and unpredictability is what makes the game challenging. Very few of the new cards give a significant advantage to either player simply through RNG, and the few that do can't do so consistently. The purpose of the added RNG is to raise the skill cap of the game; only experienced players who know how to think on their feet will be able to use Spare Parts and activate "random" effects to their maximum potential.
Sure, you'll never know what will come out of a Piloted Shredder. But it's the mark of a skilled player to know how to deal with whatever comes out, be it a Novice Engineer or a Millhouse Manastorm.

To this day, these words haunt me. The theme song implies that the goblins and gnomes seem to make these things, but they don't actually make them. Why would blizzard put such a retarded line into the song when "Everything they make seems to be faulty or explodes" fits the meter. Why? Why.
