I just gained a new appreciation from seeing how long this is bc I know you have your sit there and talk for 2 hrs not including the editing and the errors thanks for providing lots of great content I've been here for a while now
This was one of the best stories I've ever heard. Love that it was almost 2 hours long too. When I first read the title I thought "Skinwalker",but then as it went on I knew this wasnt just some Skinwalker or Wendigo. This went much deeper. You did a great job on this. Your definitely in my top 3 narrator's ever on here. I dont have any order of who my top 3 are but just that I have my 3 favorites. You included. Please keep up this kind of work. Its impressive and very entertaining! I usually will drift off to sleep listening to a story this long but this kept my full attention the entire story. Again... very impressive.

This may in fact be the best horror narration I’ve ever listened to anywhere. The sound design was so good. I listened in broad daylight and was terrified. Great story and amazing narration.
You’re lucky. I listened to this in the early morning hours. There are a few good pastas that have seriously freaked me the fuck out, but this one actually made me shed tears with being so afraid.
The writer of this story is just brilliant, humour breaking the perfectly built tension. I loved this story so much, and your narration is also just the best
It's rare that a story gives me chills. Not even 15 minutes in, and I have that jumpy looking over your shoulder feeling. An hour in and I feel the same. Fantastic narration, editing, and writing.
@jerms6642 I just finished the full version of the story the author published. While I wish these two wonderful narrators could have voiced it, the audiobook is quite creepy. If you wanted more of this, I'd definitely recommend
@@artemisvoltaire4743i listen to these to fall asleep almost every day and this is the only one i turned off cus it was actually scaring me and keeping me awake
@jerms6642 me too! I keep a few favorites downloaded/ in playlists that I've listened to before and vetted for sudden volume changes or creepy sounds. One of my favorite narrators suddenly added animal sound effects a couple years ago lol. Most horror I've relistened to loses its creepy factor. Lately this story, and the audiobook for Devolution by Brooks, have refused to be comfortable background horror. I always end up jumpy
Really God pays attention to California, how do you explain all those earthquakes? I keep seeing the Family Guy version of God creating the world and getting a phone call, distracted for a moment or two and turning back to see what's happening to California and going, oh crap oh crap oh crap!
Because USA has no scary story of its own. No one really get afraid of those shitty horror film. Those r only shock porn. If u want to listen to true scary story then listen to Asian, German, England horror story.
@@asifmetal666 what do you live under a rock almost every state has a scary story even though Ohio has the mothman. Man not be as creepy as some of the stuff in Asia particularly Japan it's still lore anywhere it exists it's lore.
Every time I hear someone say clever I say "clever girl" outloud with the accent and everything.. its almost like a tick at this point and I rarely even notice that I'm doing it lol.
Huh....this actually reminds me of the story my grandmother told me, from the tlingit tribe which my great great grandmama was 100% of, It's an alaskan tribe. It's customary to watch over the dead for three days, and keep the body protected. I don't really remember if it was an uncle or grandfather of my great grandmama. But Apparently your suppose to watch over the body so this spirit...thing I'm not really sure what its called, and it bothers me now. Because my grandmama said that it steals the body, or skin, either way if the dead weren't protected for 3 days. It'd take the body and use it to trick people. She'd never tell me what it'd use the body for. But my grandmama said that her mama (my great grandmama) said she was taking her turn watching over the body of the relative, reading but of course still alert to what was happening around her. That there was a gentle knocking on the window, as if to I guess test if someone was guarding the body? my great grandmama raised the alarm and the men in the house ran out to go see what it was and saw something running away into the woods and the tracks lead from the woods to the window and back into the woods, and they weren't human but like beaver feet and something else. I wish I paid more attention to that story now. I always assumed it was just the tribes way of making sure the dead were honored.
The story of your grandma reminds me of a monster here in the Philippines, they're called "aswang" (one of its variants) they steal dead bodies and eat them; we're also supposed to watch over the bodies on wakes/funerals and make sure there's no weird/suspicious visitors who attends the wake/funeral. some of the variants eat fetuses on mother's bellies or sick/near-death people.
That's interesting! I'm into the folklore of my own country (Germany) and much of it also mentions guarding the dead for three days. In the myths and legends it's often by their grave, but there was also a tradition of keeping the corpse at their home for a few days after death so everyone could come and say their goodbyes. At night, someone close to the dead had to guard them then. Often, they were joined by plentiful company, with accounts of up to 30 people sitting in the room along with the corpse and talking and drinking together. This could get quite rowdy, but I can't help but think that it must have been very safe also. It was unsanitary though, as the rooms could get crowded and warm, so eventually there was a transition to keeping the bodies in morgues instead. It's fascinating to me how and why similar customs develop so far away from each other.
@@tabongaproductions its not the dybbuk, the dybbuk is a djinn or demon, usually trapped in a dybbuk box . its called the vigil in jewish folklore, theres a movie about it
Brother was so fed up with Impostor that he threw fists with it and freakin won, what a badass. I legit imagined a anime battle when you were describing their fight. Also really good story and especially good narration. I could never watch any video for more then half an hour before but your vids can tie me down for hours.
this was a trip of a story with a fascinating ending that i'll never forget. definitely going to look into this guy's book. you nailed it again with the voice acting! it added so many more layers to the experience
24:50 This little sigh that is mentioned and never brought up again made this story all the more memorable to me. It scares me for no good reason. I appreciate the little unsettling things in these stories.
1:30:55 so fun story this happened to me once. I mean I wasn't in a supernatural horror, but I did wake up with an unknown arm over me. I tried to elbow the person, but no one was there. Turns out I had managed to sleep on my arm so hard it was unable to move and my perception of where my arm was located was now wrong. It was my own arm and it was really freaky not to be able to move it. Eventually feeling returned with the worst pins and needles to go with it and I could move my arm again. A freaky way to wake up.
Ages since you posted but, that happened to me as well when I was 16. Except I immediately thought my 6 year old sister had left her arm in bed and I was pissed about it. So i picked up what I thought was my sister's arm and threw it. Since it was, in reality, attached to myself, it came back. And that's the story of how I punched myself in the face trying to throw my own arm out of bed.
@(◍•ᴗ•◍) I don't think so, I very much moved and had a fat lip the next day. Something maybe similar in that I was still in some kind of unlogical dreamstate though
@@peachsouls it was not sleep paralysis for me, it took like an hours for my to start working again the rest of me was awake and moving around. It also had that pins and needle feeling when I started getting feeling again
I usually listen to these stories without trouble. I usually just shrug them off or do a little huff thing and think "Well that was pretty good!" However this story actually got to me. This successfully creeped me out to the point I had to close the window blinds (Probably doesn't help that I'm basically at the foot of Pikes Peak for the month). Really talented author and really great narration!
@@princeofla7514 Aw s-t, here we go again. Here is hoping Sominium finds that, cause this one freaked me out as well. Also for some reason as I am thinking this, I AM NOT JOKING, I am hearing bells. Just finished writing the last sentence when they got louder and I turned around only to see a few medals hanging on my wall jingling from the fan I turned on. I kid you not my heartbeat acted like a rollercoaster right there. Also to the original commenter, all I can say is try summoning another creepy creature you know how to deal with and maybe there is some sort of “one freak per human” rule. Other than that, go buy out every store nearby of Dreamcatchers and decorate like it is Christmas.
I was subbed to mr crreps creepsmc pasta I thought they where terrifying but then I started to notice how dull theyr stories were but I heard ur creepypastas .....u deserve more than 1 mill best creepypasta channel ever

I'm just passing through to tell you the emphasis you put on certain words and sentences, such as the way the poster describes his feelings toward the spotty internet and the weather, are spot on. You are an amazing narrator, arguably my favorite on this God awful hellsite we call UA-cam. I've yet to hear one of your narrations I didn't enjoy. The fact that you also design your own sounds and music for them is astounding. You, sir, are an atmospheric artist.
Mimics are the type of monsters that freak me out the most, especially ones that just mimic voices. Plus the fact that this one has been stalking the dude's girlfriend since she was like 5 is super freaky. Also cool that we never see what these things look like, the most we get are "a face too long to be human with wet lips covering sharp teeth" and "sounds like a running horse"
My favorite (if you can call the trait that freaked me out the most my favorite) is how it struggled with the words and seemed to slap together it’s sentences like we might mimic an animal call. It did not quite seem to know what it was saying, only that “this sound is used in this situation and delivers this response from others”. Sure there was the explanation that these were supposedly peopleat one point but I doubt it, and I think the youths were just it’s first puppets.
This is still another favorite it's like an audio roller coaster and it must have taken so long to get everything together so perfectly. There's wind chimes, footsteps, shuffling leaves, running, then the echoes in all the voices we just heard it's all.....so amazing. Thank you for what you do!
Dude, im legitimately unsettled, and im a 34 year old grown ass man who loves horror. I got chills at several points and I promise my sleep tonight WILL be disturbing. In other words, great job!
I follow a bunch of the other scary story channels and theirs content is decent, but this story was hands down the best I've ever heard. Midway through I had to get up and turn on all the lights in my house lol.
My favorite part was when he tried to fight its mind games with his own mind games at the door, speaking first in fluent German and than quoting V for Vendetta, tho if it were me, any time the voices started I’d just start belting out verses from PowerWolf songs most of which are in Latin, a language I studied for three years
Bruh tell me why my flight chief literally asked me to translate "Spanish text" when it was in Latin ... I feel like you can do that to people and theyd be just as confused

I remember listening to this story while painting my room about 8 years ago. The narration was so flat but the story still got to me. Listening to it again as an adult with this level of ambiance and effort put into it is so much more chilling. One of the reasons I love this channel.
I can't believe that 8 months ago i thought creepsmcpasta was a good creepypasta narrator. So glad I found you channel, you're an amazing person and you're doing an amazing work!
DisappointingPorn creepsmcpasta is okay, believe me when I say I used to love his channel. He was my fav for a while....but his content quality has been declining a while ago. I started listening to him from the very beginning & slowly realized how bad his content was getting. Most of the stories he picks are and have really awful/abrupt/unfinished/unsatisfying plots & endings. And the work he puts in isn’t that great. He’s a good narrator but that’s it. Also, ever since he started posting videos about how movies were ripping his (personal) stories off kinda made me cringe. And there were other things he did that turned me away, so yeah I’m not just saying this stuff without cause. Plus, you can’t even compare the dark somnium to creepsmc, bc TDS is way outta creeps league in content and the work he puts in to each video. The music, sound effects, his emotions are all perfect for each individual piece of work he does. Again, I used to LOVE Creepsmc but it got so bad that I had to unsub from him & stop listening to his stuff (among other reasons that I’ll keep to myself). Sorry for the long comment but this was one of the best videos I’ve ever heard, EVER. Def a top 3 bc it scared the shit outta me & I love woods/cabin/paranormal stories. But yeah, TDS>EE.
TDS is definitely one of the top narrators out there, I used to be a big fan of MCP and I still love creeps, but I’ve drifted more towards the theatrical narrators (TDS and Nature’s Temper to be specific).
I liked the little subtle thing about Fae just being allowed, in fact needing, her secret kept to herself and her partner being okay with that given all the circumstances. Only got pushy when it was important. Poor Teway though... I like wholesome characters. ;-;
I read this story when it was first published a handful of years ago and it is still probably the scariest r/nosleep stories I have ever read. Such great writing.
@@waterbottlettv yeah if you haven't listen to the lost City of Korona it's short but very interesting and would be nice to see a expansion of the universe.
This is similar to reading a book u can paint a picture of what’s happening unlike a movie ! But this would make a great movie if done correctly! Anyway. this story was absolutely scary!
I thought that jump scares are achieved visually while sound playing an important role....I could say after spending several nights sleeping listening to your stories dat, You clearly have the ability to make someone strong of heart jump scared for their life. 🥶 That monster voice impression always gets me good and leaves me with goosebumps.
This story hit a little too close to home. Went through all that when I first moved out from my parents house. Tried to look up info on the place I was living in but found nothing. I would hear voices at 2:14am, knocking on bathroom door, even tho I lived by myself. Also started sleep walking and losing all memory of what I did past 10pm. Crazy shit, this I moved out and everything stopped.
this is exactly what happened in the story "the things in the basement are getting better at mimicking human voices". This channel has a video on that. I recommend you checking it...
It is storming. I am shrouded by night, listening to such a wonderful creepypasta on what is one of my absolute favorite horror channels. What a wonderful way to begin my birthday.
I've never stopped a story before because it was creeping me out. I listen to these to go to sleep and regularly wake up to them at three am with no issues...and I turned this one off until morning. More than anything it was the voices you did, or more specifically the noises lol
Man I regret not listening to you sooner. With strict lockdown here in India and my hometown under constant threat from the annoying chinese government and constant boredom, your stories are helping me get through this bizarre times. I think this is one of your best narrations and music design I've ever seen. The music littery brought such life into the story. Especially the way the pump up music comes blaring in when the narrator and the creature are about to fight. That moment made me feel so good for some reason.
My girlfriend listens to creepypastas and scary stories as she sleeps... fair to say this one out of countless kept me awake... goosebumps and fear all night. I'm not easily scared or spiritual. Might actually have nightmares now for once. Even so, amazing story, chilled me to the core.
The effort and time you have put into producing these quality narrations really shows. There is no other creepypasta narrator that I'd rather listen to since i discovered this channel
Man this story. Easily one of scariest in my opinion. Been having to take breaks just cus I dont feel like getting nightmares. Trying to finish the last bit all in one go. And wow. I'm lowkey terrified. You've done an absolutely stellar job on this one. I can feel this in my core. Keep up the great work.
The left/Right game story is very good too. You wont have any intentions to leave because it's that good. Yes, a 6 hour long story and I listen through it all. You wont regret it.
K Ho try the left right game quite possibly the best one on the Internet let alone on this channel. Six hours no adds the greatest story u will ever hear.
Longest I've read/heard is 7 1/2 hrs long. Lasted all thru work. About amusement park. I love these stories because of the amount of details I can't help but wonder if it's true. These storyteller people nowadays
Makes me thing of the Wendigo, given they're supposedly able to mimic voices and sometimes live in cold, forested climates. They also sometimes tap on windows and doors to get people to let them in
I believed similar but the fact my dude was able to 1v1 the monster with his bare hands says otherwise. A wendigo would have torn him apart in seconds without much fight
@@animallover91278 I think its actually its own legend. Each area of land believes their own stories. The stories may differ from area to area, all having similar creatures. Each place calls it something else, and describes it in a different way. So the fact that the natives in the story called it the hollow ones, means its exactly that. It's the legend of the hollow ones. Which do infact share similarities with both skin walker and wendigo, but it would be its own legend. If you visit BC Canada and ever ask how the mosquitos were created, you will the able to hear the story of the mosquito lady, one of their own legends they themselves have. I'm sure there's another mosquito lady stories around the world, but it would be different
That makes a lot of sense there's actually a version that says they live in old abandoned places like mines and cabins and apparently stabbing and shooting them just makes em' mad
About a year ago me and my ex partner split up. And a friendship of 7 years was basically destroyed. And during the last year I spent everyday feeling destroyed so it’s been hard to sleep. These kinds of stories are brilliant when they are really scary or can induce genuine thought it takes away the prior distractions filling my mind. Thanks
this might be my favorite video of yours. the story checks all the boxes of stuff that scares the shit out of me, the characters are genuinely really lovable and well written (which isn't always the case with these kinds of stories), and your narration and editing really sell the whole thing. listening to this was the perfect way to cap off my halloween.
This was an amazing adaptation of the story! Both voice actors wonderful, as always, and of course the effects are spectacular! I really felt like I was in the cabin with Felix when he was by himself, and that scene where the Imposter mimics Felix's voice for the first time was absolutely bone-chilling. That scene is probably one of the most well-done on this channel. Amazing job by the author as well. Truly a gripping story from beginning to end! The ending felt a _little_ rushed, but given how much fun this story is, I'm definitely willing to look past that. Big thanks to all those who made this story possible!
You honestly deserve more subscribers you make it seem like you put emotions in the story which makes me feel like I’m in the story keep up the good work 💯

This genuinely may be the best scary story I’ve ever heard. Never have I been so invested in it, and Dark Somnium ‘s narration easily made it one of my very favorites
THIS WAS THE WORST THING FOR ME TO LISTEN TO LATE AT NIGHT BEFORE MY DAMN DOG ESCAPES THE YARD INTO THE F**KING TREES BEHIND OUR HOUSE *me scared shitless following my dog into the darkness* "i cant believe id actually die for you" her glowing eyes both scared and relieved me
Easily one of the best, if not THE BEST, stories i have ever heard in the best narration voice that i could ask for, honestly. This had me on the edge of my seat for an eternity. it even made me a bit paranoid 👀. Phenomenal job, Ronny! Keep up the amazing work!❤
Great story and narration, I could almostfeelthe cold and desperation.. but the humor mixed with this whole thing is just what makes it more than perfect
Speaking to a voice-mimicking creature and it being effective is the funniest way to counter it. + I thought D-Somnium's older narrations would be less polished, but wow it's still so good.
Ooo I know I’m pretty late but if ur as experienced as you put on, I’d like to know; what are your favorites? Which stories have you found that just shook you to your core lol

I just recently discovered this channel and I'm certainly glad I did. AYou don't just tell the story like many others, you immerse yourself into the storyline as if experiencing everything first hand and in real time. Absolutely phenomenal sound and voice work on this one. AGAIN! Thank you so much (and Lucy as well of course) for this channel and making the world a better place with your narrations
First of all, I just want to share my appreciation for the hard work you put into creating the scene for these stories. Your efforts are unmatched by any other content creator who makes these style of videos. Your voice mixed with the sound effects gave me goosebumps and had me looking over my shoulders more than I could ever expect 😂 Secondly, THIS STORY IS FUCKING AWESOME! It’s put together PERFECTLY! I’m still wondering if in the end she was still possessed, I don’t think she was because of the ring and because of the black purge expelled from her body, but it just makes you wonder if it was just her sense of humor or something much more sinister. What do y’all think??
I don't remember if she ever found out she licked him SOOO I feel it got an "everything was well by the morning" vibe to the ending so I'm really not sure. Nathan was probably a bit too stiff in the way he spoke (not actor-wise ofc) imo so it might have been the impostor and it did something to them. The black vomit apparently was a cleansed residue of overtime corruption from the invaded body. Then again, was he invaded that long though? I want to believe it was a happy ending, but it could be argued that it's not. Idk, really.
I have to say, this is the BEST channel for stories.... the narration, didn't voices.. perfect!! It makes me feel like I'm there. If I close my eyes while listening, I can visualize the setting. You're amazing!
Damn, another intense movie in my head while driving on a road trip. You're definitely the best at what you do. Awesome story. Happy Thanksgiving 2019. :)
I have a theory on the number 5. Fay’s parents said when she was little something tragic happened to her at the cabin thus causing the sleep walking. So what if that event took place at the age of five hence the meaning of five.
So much effort and creativity goes into your narrations! I'm so impressed! The music isn't the same repetitive piano music I hear every other creepypasta channel use and the sound effects are effective and immersive! Not once did I think the voices and added sound effects were cheesy in the slightest. I've already listened to two of your longer narrations (which is something I don't ever do because I get bored) but with these videos, I can't help but feel immediately hooked! 100/10. Definitely subbing now. I look forward to passing the time at work with more of your wonderful narrations. God speed.
Just want to say thank you so much for your content and the hours of entertainment you’ve given me! Your narrations never cease to amaze, especially the music and sound effects. Your work reminds me of those old radio shows back before tvs like “war of the worlds”. I cannot thank you enough for your work, especially no ads! You are truly an amazing content creator and I will continue to annoy friends and family about your channel!

SPAS 12 the great equalizer
:0
That sounds really similar to the Dybbuk in Jewish folklore, like with someone having to keep watch over a dead body for a set number of days.
@@tabongaproductions its not the dybbuk, the dybbuk is a djinn or demon, usually trapped in a dybbuk box . its called the vigil in jewish folklore, theres a movie about it

Exactly!
Well said
Mimics are the type of monsters that freak me out the most, especially ones that just mimic voices.

Creepsmcpasta IS a good narrator.😕

Same yeah I think it’s a Windygo or skin walker mostly Wendigo

This is the ONLY creepypasta I've ever listened to that actually scared me! That was genuinely horrible! Spectacular, brilliant and horiffic!
I probably should have waited till morning to listen to this. Friggin fantastic. 🌹⚘🌹⚘🌹⚘ amazing performance. Love both you and spirit voices! Also Special kudos to the author of the story. Every bit of it was entertaining and gravitating. Well done, Bravo.🌹⚘🌹⚘🌹⚘
What’s ‘cudos’?
@@KatKevaKelise its supposed to be a form of praise. I spelled it wrong though. "Kudos" is the correct spelling.
This was great. Actually scared me and that is hard to do. I like the longer stories. Keep up the good work.
I thought the story had ended at 17:00! There’s still so much time left?! I’m loving this
Your use of different intonations & emotions is impeccable. It’s part of what makes you the best horror narrator, that & your use of sound design & different voice actors for different characters. You deserve all the recognition & more.
Thank you so much :)
God. Damn. It. I'm. Spooked.
Dude, I'm a housekeeper that works evenings, and I was listening while cleaning rooms and I kept jumping because I thought something was in the room with me LMAO
@@peachgypsy556 oh my god i cant even imagine that, im like drawing while listening to this and my heart stopped for a split second and i jumped when i head like movement near my bed and forgot it was my dog
I don't remember if she ever found out she licked him SOOO
I feel it got an "everything was well by the morning" vibe to the ending so I'm really not sure.
The childs laugh after the door incident was genuinely terrifying. Good stuff.
I have to say, this is the BEST channel for stories.... the narration, didn't voices.. perfect!! It makes me feel like I'm there. If I close my eyes while listening, I can visualize the setting. You're amazing!
Best horror narrator on UA-cam, unbelievable how great your narrations are.
Damn, another intense movie in my head while driving on a road trip. You're definitely the best at what you do. Awesome story. Happy Thanksgiving 2019. :)
this has always been one of my favorite series, so I was HYPE to see that my favorite narrator reading it!
I have a theory on the number 5. Fay’s parents said when she was little something tragic happened to her at the cabin thus causing the sleep walking. So what if that event took place at the age of five hence the meaning of five.
That's been my theory since I first heard this story a couple years ago.
I’ve been going on a binge of lots of these stories for a couple weeks now, and nothing has quite shaken me up like this one
Thank you so much!
I've listened to the whole 2hr and I was pleased with the story! Hopefully you look at this message and consider doing more narrations on this whole horror/Native American topic!
I don't see stories as good as this often. Thank you for being such an amazing narrator. Love the content.
