Holy Stone is the new Syma!!! Their drone prices are a little higher than most Syma drones, however, you can't beat Holy Stone when it comes to CUSTOMER SERVICE, Fast & Free Shipping & their NO QUESTIONS asked RETURNS!!! POW!!!
Good job DJ, the camera quality is not bad at all. Remember the days of quads with cameras that had a lot of jello, it seems that they have mostly fixed that issue. Now if they could give us a little more stability in the footage.
Just received mine saturday. Had a quick flight in the field behind work today on my lunch break. Just need to figure out how to hook it up to my phone and im ready to record airsoft matches from a safe height as to not have it shot down. Besides that easy to get started. Definitely would recommend it.
And I remember all the Syma reviews, especially the X8, and all it's various models. I really looked forward to those video's. Those were the good old days my friend.
Thanks Ron, and YES, those were the good old days. I can remember waiting for the "release" of the first Syma X8 with altitude hold and trying to get mine before Full Metal Heli got his! (OMG, waiting for a Syma release, lol)🤣🤣
I never owned a Holy Stone product, but I'm very impressed with some of their models. Nice test flight and review, and sorry about your camera issues, but you still got enough video to tell that this was a quality product for the money. Now I need to see the review on the other drone you showed at the beginning, the one everyone is talking.
Thanks for watching Ryan and your feedback. Hey... you can always reach out to them. Their email address is on the website and they seem to be looking for reviewers. POW!!!
The HS 200 i think i gave it to a newbie Man that thing flew great. I have one similar but altuude hold. Been flying it out front for years ...TTYS #like51 God bless
Looks to me like Holy Stone is the new Syma as well. Many of my earliest quads (and even a few of my larger helis) were Syma. Now I've kinda been spoilt by brushless motors -- I went through a $#¡7load of brushed-motor quads because they were eating motors like candy. I've lot count of how many Hubsan H507A and H107E drones I've been through over the last several years because of burned-out motors; same with Syma (though my X8C was a flyaway). :-P
Hello mate, hope ya keeping well. And well done Holy Stone ;) Nice little bird but a shame about the cam angle, look forward to next video, Cheers mate ;)
Thanks for watching and your comments. The Geofence that you saw in this video was because the drone was in first stage LVC. There is no geofence on this drone, but it does have it's control range limitations! Happy flying!!!
Hey my friend how you doing I guess you're still fly drones a lot. don't see you find helicopters much anymore you ought to get into bigger ones. There's a lot of fun fixing to put two back in the air myself after a few years away from them miss them okay here's what I'm here for this is the correct your motor size they're 8520 motors not 8620 brush motors that might confuse somebody when they're looking for a replacement hope it helps have a great day my friend keep up the good work And again I may be wrong but I'll look it up and find out
I have half a Syma hanging on my wall. Interesting Bird for the money... One thing about the Syma..you had to fly it to keep it in the air. Wonder how many first drone pilots could fly it now...(ps had to cut down a tree to retrieve mine once.) Holy Stone.. A name we might need to remember.. great review
I am researching a few different low priced drones for purchase. Do you still like the HS165? Would you recommend it for buying? I want to take aerial photos of our new property. You mentioned a 30M ceiling cap in your video...did you figure out how to take it higher?
Although I like this drone, I would recommend a brushless motor drone over this one. Take a look at the MJX Bugs 3 series or the Snaptain SP700, HolyStone HS700 EIS or similar, around the same price range. Check my channel for reviews on similar priced drones and features!!! Happy shopping, happy flying!!!
Thanks for watching and your feedback. I think it's because of the extreme slow frame rate of the camera that the video looks so bad! Good luck, happy flying!!!
I'm down with it! And the price don't scare me, Remember what we paid for the X380! You get a lot more "bells & Whistles" With this! Thanks for sharing Brother!
These toy grade, GPS drones, will follow your smart phone. The performance will vary depending on your mobile device. It's best to actually walk slowly, not run fast!!! Thanks for watching buddy and your question.
I didn't do a flight time test, but I'd guess around 15 - 17 minutes. (don't quote me on that!) Check the links in the description of this video for more factory specs. Good luck, thanks for watching!!!
Even with the $10 off coupon, its still $159 ... which I think is a bit much, considering it is a brushed quad, with a pretty lousy camera. Your Runcam HD 'Hatcam' is a 1080P camera. Compare that video to what this is trying to push off as 1080P. I think that the 0.3Mp camera on the old Syma X5C had video as good as this one. With the GPS and Geo-fence, it would be a safe quad for a n00b. Actually, after reading some of the 'complaints' offered by guys who have purchased $1000 quads from DJI, Autel or Yuneec (as their very 1st quad), would have been better off getting this and getting some stick time, learning orientation, basic maneuvers and care of a quad (& LiPOs). Some of those guys I see posting their 'horror stories' on FB are laughable. I can't imagine that they've totally read the manuals or watched the many Videos available to them on YT. They just believe that they can plunk down $1000 and they will instantly be the world's greatest UAV operator ... I'm sure you've seen some. I don't want to seem brash & ask them if they read the answer to their problem on page XX of the manual, so I just block them so I don't see any more stupid posts. Holy Stone does make pretty decent stuff, though I still think its a bit over priced. I have purchased many 1S LiPOs from Holy Stone for various toy grade quads, and those hold up pretty well, if you don't abuse them. BTW, I use a Runcam HD for my hatcam too .. its a good solid camera. I've used it on lots of toy grade quads prior, but now its pretty much just a hatcam. Hope you get your flying in now, as I see there's a hurricane possibly heading your way in 6-7 days. POW BroFessor!
I'm looking to purchase my husband's first drone. I'm not sure which one to get. I've been looking at the Hollystone H165 and the Snaptain SP650. I know absolutely nothing about drones. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
There's many beginner models to chose from. The two that you mentioned above are both nice drones, but are considered 'toy grade.' I suggest taking a look at the Snaptain SP700 -ua-cam.com/video/n64TZ9kFTkc/v-deo.html or the HolyStone HS510 -ua-cam.com/video/3d1M_50FvMc/v-deo.html Because of the more powerful brushless motors, these two are considered 'Hobby Class' drones and I'm sure your husband would love either of them! Good luck with your choice, thanks for watching!!!
As with all drones, it takes a little practice, lol. You'll get it I'm sure. Check out the reviews on this drone on UA-cam, check out BigDroneFlyer77 RC channel. He goes over everything you need to know about setup and flying this drone. Good luck, thanks for watching!!!
I had this drone for a day and returned. It was so wobbly even in slightest winds that I never captured anything the way I wanted it was just waste of 200 bucks. Don’t buy this drone folks
Thanks for watching and your feedback. Because this drone is very light weight and has tiny motors, I suggest flying it only on calm days! Good luck, happy flying!!!

The 1080p camera is also really good with very little wobble and no jello so that's great! Seems to fly great as well.
