This is my favorite BTS song
TF your saying
@@play-bt2symost of bts fan are 1:32 and basically this song is blaming bts by saying all their song(pop songs) are blame
1st time hearing to bts and already liking them
This aged like fine wine.
IKR OMFG BTS THO
they do this UNIRONICALLY
This is so true it hurts.
It hurts even more because this was 5 years ago, and is still perfectly applicable to the music industry today.
TheAustinsMusic because music industry gets worse and worse every year
+Xiao Andy Does it really hurty? How do you feel when it hurts? Please tell me in detail.
Firstly, an anger making me want to smash the busses radio in. Then, assuming I manage to not do that, an urge to sing very loudly, every good song I know the lyrics too. Assuming I do not carry this through, I resign myself to blocking my ears subtly as possible, and feel sick, in the stomach, and weird as it is, the face. Like i'm gonna puke. Haven't yet though. Have I got that lethal good music taste disease?
+TheAustinsMusic More so now.
Still as relevant today as it was 6 years ago.
yup
The difference is back then this was funny.
Now, it's terrifying.
TheTwinkelminkelson terrifyingly true
no, it was terrifying then too.
Hi mate, can you give me some chocolate with bananas?
The year is 2020. This song is still better than much of what they play on the radio.
Yes, it is
@@dnoodspodu1159 true true
That's because young impressionable, and insecure teenage girls, are still a thing.
𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘰
Such an original comment and idea, no one has ever thought anything like this. You deserve every last like, as well as my next 18 paychecks and my moms crotch
An accurate synopsis of the entire music industry wrapped into one song. Brilliant.
From Elvis to today pretty much
I think this is Jon's best project. It might not be the funniest one, but it's the best made satire he came up with.
Vilkku 👍 absolutely
have u even see the best video ever made?
It’s because it’s a completely accurate parody. Whereas his MC Vagina persona intentionally sounds robotic and looks lame, this apes the lighting, style, dance choreography, sound, lighting and etc...
can´t decide between this and "please use this song" which is also absolutely brilliant
@@MildMisanthropeMaybeMassive maybe that's why we like it so much? 🤔🤯
10 years later and nothing has changed in pop music industry
Except it's manly Korea that is doing the stuff now
If anything is going to change be sure it`s gonna be way worse than it was before
And now it’s called KPOP hahahahha
Rich men making money off their investments, ooh it’s so sexual, baybehh
2:16
2022 motherfucker that's just how it be.
JonLajoie, if I was a girl, or gay, I would totally fall in love with you. But I am totally not a gay, because I am all about v.a.g.i.n.a.
I'm not gay, I just don't give a fuck about straight sex.
did you type that in your gaaay voice?
how old are you?
no homo
Me too
No, that's inappropriate
This will eternally be relevant
Possibly right until the last white dwarf star dims out into the endless dark, yes.
sadly yes .. we're screwed.
This song is actually probably one of his deepest because every aspect of this song is so spot on and truthful it doesn’t even feel like a parody 😂😂
Now I'm singing with my gay voooooice
Anyone else think that if Jon Lajoie was a sell out, he could make a lot of money writing crappy pop songs?
actually they are not crap imho :P they're brilliant
Thanks god he's not
no I'm pretty sure he would be doing that if he could
He's the LeBron James of parody songs as Weird Al is the Michael Jordan
His net worth is over 500,000$
Gotta love how he got all the stereotypes down perfectly. I mean from left to right you got The Punk, The Guy with a Child-Like Nature, The Cool Leader, The Wannabe Rebel, and The Passionate, Androgynous Bi Guy.
Perfectly executed.
He nailed The Ese hard.
"Now I'm singing with my gayyy voice! To let you know that I'm sensitive!"
"Oh yeah I'm singing with my gaaayy voice! Teenage girls love a sensitive voice!"
É que é mesmo xD
Ahahahah
Wow didn't expect that :O :P
rich people making money in there investments oh its so sexual baby
Now I'm commenting with my gay voice.
+30errudi i think so ._.
Yeah I'm replying in my gay voice
***** LMAO!!!
I just gonna go and like your comment, and tell my friends about it too, so then can also go and like it.
Brilliant!
Jon Lajoie is a genius. But what I probably love the most is what an amazing actor he is. I think that it can be seen really good in this video. You have 5 characters that have their unique way of talking and especially moving, and even in the choreography you can tell that every character is dancing in his unique way and stays in his role, even though the choreography is synchron. His acting talent is so incredible and impressive and it is a pleasure to watch and laugh
Love the dude, I came back to his videos 15 years later and it's still as funny and yea, brilliant
I love how this song was made before One Direction.
its called boy bands
***** I guess it depends on your definition of boy band. If your using this parody as a template The Beatles were in NO WAY a boy band. No prancing around, just basically good music, unlike boy bands. So no , you're wrong.
Dave Rhodes Beatlemania is comparable to the kind of reaction teenage girls have nowadays and recently for One Direction, Take That, Westlife, Nsync and other boybands. The Beatles went on to become a lot more than any boyband of course and are a legendary music act which no boyband will ever be. But like boybands, the Beatles early songs were very breezy, poppy songs so there are some similarities between them and boybands.
Its all very dependent on the circumstances provided by your own definition of "boy band"
I can see how in some ways the beatles could be discussed as one, but in my opinion I think I am being a little more specific on my definition
***** I agree
“To get a small percentage of the urban music market”🔥
Just watching this 2020 and think how that dude had to dance this choreography 5 times.
Man Jon you have to make more songs. I miss your satire
Now he makes serious music. He goes by the name "Wolfie's Just Fine" but I sure do miss him just fucking around and making fun of everything around him.
Bruh i ain't even think about this lol...his shit is timeless.
2:25 Only Jon Lajoie makes a cameo in his own video lol...by the way, how many personas does he have now? like 16? haha
:33 < nicki minajs rival
It's actually MC vagina that makes the cameo. Same person and all.
Good spotting!
It's ironic that this is actually a better song than 90% of the pop music out there.
11 years later, you’re still correct lol
Why is this not at the top of the charts?
because its selfaware
Because someone actually tried when writing it.
Cael Bravery
you win
Because it speaks the truth, and the truth hurts
+IThinkWithMy Liver
They already have
The dancing and choreography in this is very under rated. My god this man is talented.
the rap part is awesome lol

urban music market achieved lol
“And now the token rap verse, that doesn’t make any sense but helps to get a small percentage of the urban music market”
This fake song is better than a great part of pop songs released nowadays
ikr best rap ever
***** Yup. You can literally feel the tumors growing in your ears.
I suggest you check out Help Me by Trevor Moore as well.
it exists therefore it's not fake
Roldie Thanks, Dave.
2010: Bieber
2012: One Direction
2015: Shawn Mendes
2020: BTS
Yep, as true now as it was then.
bts write their own songs
@@besponja91 Irrelevant to the comment I wrote, the point of the comment is the continuing cycle of boy bands/solo artists and teenage girls who eat their music up.
The ironic thing is this sounds better than most pop songs that have come out in the last 20 years!! 🤣🤣
I used to be an 11-years-old girl from Central Europe who was totally in love with Jon's comedy. The highlight of my week were the FCE preparation classes where I met my crush. We never dared to ask each other out but we always came 30 minutes before lectures so we could sit together in the corner, and watch Jon Lajoie's videos. We also talked on Facebook, and discussed possible translations of his work, haha. I'm happy that I have been brought back here after so many years.
"and now the token rappers, that doesnt make any sense but helps to get small percentage of the urban music market " lmfaooo this
Rap verse, but yeah. Textbook recipe.
This is the best, truest, cleverest song LaJoie has ever done.
masterpiece
hahah bro do you return to this video and comment every year?
return of the king
So it's almost 2023 and this is still the truth... A man ahead of his time!
actually boy bands like these were big even before this time. backstreet boys anyone?
@@SaturnineXTSyup
It just dawns on me that jon is pretty much an UA-cam OG by now. For real
Is it bad that this song and "Radio Friendly Song" pretty much sums up 99.95% of songs on the radio?
yes it is
Still true
Still true
@@Killble still true
still true
holy fuck, 5 years old and still relevant. Though it could be 10 years old and be relevant still.
or 15 or as far back as you want.
The song is actually 6 years old as of 2015. In the album version he says 2009
8 years old from Caameron's perspective now, 9 years old from 3ph600v.
January 5th, 2021... Still relevant!
What are you some kind of time traveler🤔
they should make Teens react to this...
Oh my god, this is going to be a decade old soon.
Now it is
A decade plus 5 days.
Ugh don’t make me feel old lol
These are the truest lyrics ever written
Blows my mind that this came out almost 14 years ago. Feels like yesterday.
This song has more sense than 99% of nowadays music.
Will never get old.
1:57 I didn't think I'd laugh but I cracked up at that point
+SilencerOftheHills just perfect x)
+SilencerOftheHills gets me everytime, bwahaha xD xD
This is the ultimate criticism of the pop music industry! it also shows that every musician could easily write a popsong. just great!
The production quality of this masterpiece is just insane for a YT comedy song! Not to mention the spot on lyrics! :) This just ages like an old wine...
One of the most genious pieces of art from Jon
What's great about this song is that it accurately portrays how most modern day pop songs are like.
Ummmm....yeah
Here I thought they were singing about a narwhal with a katana.
The sarcasm is strong with this one.
six years...
wow.
wow
wow
wow
In 2020, wow
@@lilRadRidinHood wow
He did a good job of making half of them hot, he covers the whole spectrum of the boy band personalities, most ingenious.
The fact that he dressed up and edited this for quite a while is just amazing how far he will go
1:56 "Now I'm singing with my gay voice to let you know that I'm sensitive!" LOL hilarious.
This guy is much, much smarter that I thought!
John Elmot he has straight up talent
John Elmot Why would you think he wasn't smart in the first place?
John Elmot Been watching jonlajoie forever and think 99% of his videos are hilarious and well done.
+John Elmot right! who would have thought he wasnt being completely serious in these videos and on television
+Carrie waugh Are you a young, impressionable and insecure teenaged girl?
This song was visionary
No. He described a decade long tragedy... that unfortunately has continued to this day. When Agent Smith called 1999 "the peak of your civilization" in The Matrix he was eerily spot on.
2020
Nothing has changed
I started singing this in the shower before work the other day as it suddenly came to mind. Can't believe how old this video is now.
This song is just another reason Jon Lajoie is one of the most admirable people in the world
damn he used Auto-Tune in the rap part. VISIONARY
So true!
Self aware music is the best music out there. Change my mind
I listened to this song for 5 years without realizing all 5 of them are Jon until one day my wife said "wow this must have taken a lot of time"... Even now, looking at them, it's hard to tell they are all the same guy lol.
It’s 2022 we did not deserve Sir Lajoie back in 2009.
This may not be Jon Lajoie's most laugh out loud video, but IMHO this is his best one. This is worthy of study by media scholars!
I will never not love this song. Man I miss this guy so much😭
loved it when it came out and still lovin it. just timeless
This got recommended after like 9 years in an actual pop song playlist
I’m screaming! I was big fan of Backstreet boys when I was a teen and it makes me laugh even harder. Man you’re truly talented!
Your channel is fucking evergreen, man. You were always way ahead of your time, and still are to this day. Miss your stuff!
This is actually so catchy, I can't stop listening to it. Plus the dancing is hilarious!
crazy that this dropped 13 years ago, and the phenomenon it's critiquing is still fairly common
I like how all of John's songs come across so stupid yet they're all pretty well written and truthful. I know platinum records don't go out to UA-cam artists but what about a platinum subscription?
I love this haha, amazing
2:24
Before the MCU, “MC show me your genitals” appeared in Lajoi’s video, proving the existence of a JohnLajoiVerse
13 years later… still accurate.
I like how truthful and accurate it is in the music industry!!
2016 and still up to date. :)
Mishkin 2018 still true
@@musc1esman 2020 still accurate :)))
This song explains K-Pop
Just put this on a Big Time Rush ad and couldnt be happier with my decision
As a 90s kid who is now a mom this song makes my stomach hurt.....too true.
Best pop song ever made.
when you realize that most of his songs are way better than songs today.
His parodies are better than most parodies today.
Yeah it’s 2023 and I’m still singing with my gay voice
10 years later, this is still the world.
Lajoie looks RIDDICILOUSLY HOT as that lead singer.
Haha what you said is exactly what he parodying in this song and he is against.
Filip is just jealous of him
*****
Well I'm not young or impressionable, and he is hot. lol.
Basically KPOP in a nutshell
genius, this chronicle of contemporary music will be here forever
This kind of shit would blow up if it was released today lol Jon was way ahead of the times.
lmao, 2016 already but still so ridiculously spot-on
The "gay voice" part basically sums up every song by The Weeknd.
And T Pain. And every single background singer of every single song. And every singer. And pretty much everyone in the music Industry.
Touché xD
I always think Justin Timberlake :D.
And Basically every human ever, lol have you even listened to something that isn't his hits?
@@utterabledripseven4705 Have you listened to everyone in the music industry?
Nine years later and I'm still coming back to watch this and show it to friends. Loved it then, love it now.
The chorus is One Direction in a nut shell
JT M That's boy bands in general. This was made when 1D started.
JT M I'm pretty sure this was originally a parody of the band Big Time Rush.
Comedy is usually funny because it exposes something or some concept in society that is absurd when approached from a comedic angle, Jon nails this
he nails it in al.ost every vid he makes. this guy is really creative.
There is so much truth in this..
Even 10 years later i am impressed how on point Jon was and still is.
What a freakin Legend.
Still have love for you and hope you had a good 2020 Jon!
Jon Lajoie, you will make me being late at work, because I can't stop listening to your songs!
Let's just take a moment to appreciate that Jon did five times the work that a normal boy band would have done with this song.
Scratch that- he did way more than five times the work.
Anyone notice the emo character seems to be the most cheerful? Glorious.
i found this song when i was in high school and now ive been in the music industry for 8 years and this shit is funnier than ever i never realized how fucking hilarious this was until i realized what ive seen in this industry over and over and how things are perceived ect. like i thought this was funny before i ever really got into rap and now im neck deep i laughed my ass off way harder
How the fuck is this five years old?!?
+robo miner Short, nice burn, escape velocity reached.
+Archie Ellis But this is still so fckin' actual today :) love it.
+robo miner xD
+Archie Ellis It has an Nsync vibe
+Archie Ellis True, mainstream music just got worse and not better, so it's still valid.
i'm not a teenager girl and i'm definitely not insecure, but god damn this one is catchy and the lyrics make me laugh so hard every time because the acting is so serious while trash talking the industry,I could listen to this all day long.
The two irrelevant guys from Backstreet Boys. James from Big Time Rush. Twice. And Basshunter on the far right. Love it.
jon..this song is so incredible. this song save my life and raised my self esteem.
thank you, i look forward to more popsongs.
I watch this every year
