I'm watching this video in my Yurt campsite in the desert right now. 8 miles from the Mexican border. There's been a black bear and last night coyotes kept me awake in my tent.
A trick I use when car camping with a large tent is to pack all my gear bags into a footlocker bolted to a handtruck. Set up the tent and move all my gear into the tent in one trip. The footlocker doubles as my table also. The handtruck is because I got tired of trying to drag the locker around. You have to select a truck with soft tires that lays down level though.
So glad to see this video come up. I already watched two videos from this channel this morning. I always enjoy Luke's camping adventures - so relaxing, always beautiful.
Luke😮😮😮 The Ice Coffee isn’t a nice Coffee. Dude, ( I Can’t believe, I’ve just said Dude). But again, you don’t mix ice coffee , with normal!!!!!!!😮😮😮😮😮❤❤❤❤❤
I'm jealous that the temperature there is already so cool. It's still in the 80s here during the day, with lows in the mid 60s. That may change slightly in early November.
Luke, I can vouch for the use of a heating pad. No, I Don't camp. But use one for warmth at home. So the gas furnace, and my electric bill's are not so high.
Cool, I actually bought the three person version of this tent a couple of months back, though I’m wondering if it’s going to be difficult to set up on my own when I finally use it. I wanted the larger one as it has extra accessories you can buy separately; a ground sheet, a rain sheet on top, and a transparent door.
I also take a heating pad on cold trips! IF you have any power tools that take ryobi batteries they sell an inverter for $40 120 V/150W that will work for heating pads. Much less expensive than a Jackery! When I use my Coleman tent similar to Suzie's to camp in colder weather I binder clip a survival blanket to the top of the tent then put the rain fly on, and that does seem to help keep the heat in since that tent is mostly mesh ( My favorite tent for summer!). It is a bit noisy when its windy though.
You mentioned "Mocha Ice" flavoring. I wonder if it is close to an older chocolate candy called "Ice Cubes" by Moritz ? These would have the chocolate flavor and then some kind of cooling sensation after chewing. Thanks for the video. Glad to hear things are getting back to normal for you and your family.
I’ve got the Carinthia defense 4. I can’t imagine how cold it would have to be to need the heating pad. The D4 is a great bag, but I wouldn’t have known about if it wasn’t for your channel. 👍
The silver coating technology commonly used in flysheets and tents in the Asian market is designed to reduce heat by reflecting sunlight, helping to keep the interior cooler. A more advanced option is the "black coating," which provides better UV protection and thermal insulation. Naturehike and other outdoor companies have further improved on this with their latest "Ti black coating," which offers even greater heat reduction and sun protection, making it more effective for outdoor use in intense sunlight.
I like that tent. It’s hard for me to justify buying it living in Texas though. Maybe I’ll get lucky and will get 100 year cold snap again. Better buy it, just in case…
I lived in Corpus Christi, in a Lance pull trailer during that cold snap a couple years ago…two weeks without water or power…Walmart for water, clothes, candles and the gas stove for heat.
Luke, what would your plan be if a bear happened to wander into your campsite as you were setting up the gas burner around the 11 minute mark in the video? The car seems too far away to seek refuge. How would you keep yourself safe? So glad there’s no bears to contend with when camping in the bush here in Australia! 🇦🇺
Black bears aren’t too aggressive and they don’t like people much. We have an occasional bear visitor in our back yard. He’s a big ol’ boy, lays down and licks the birdseed…like he’s on vacation. He waddles away when the lights come on. We nicknamed him Theodore, Teddy for short.
The Hangul (Korean, not Japanese) on the package is 모 카 아 이 스, which is basically just a straight transliteration of "Mocha Ice" (pronounced roughly mo ka aye su). It's an iced coffee mix, not really intended to be made hot.

Condonlences to all lost in the hurricane ❤🙏
I too have been wondering about the green forest. With all the damage it would be just awful if the world lost that place. It is so beautiful!
It's Korean instant. Used to make iced coffee. Hot is fine too..
Luke, hope all is going well for you and your family in NC. Helene was such a devastating storm in your area.❤
Sounds like a iced coffee drink
when I was in the military we called the meteorologists "weather guessers"

I use a light folding pull wagon. It’s been the greatest house tool we’ve bought. It’s great for any loads, groceries, luggage and stuff.
@@papajeff5486 Radio Flyer for the win!

It would be cool if the tent were reversible, i.e., to have the reflective material outside to reflect the sun when it’s hot.
Happy Birthday!💪
Glad you go camping , I would not have the patience 😊 sprinkling ? I think we call it drizzle ? (. Uk north wales 🏴) or raining a bit 😊😊

Hey Luke. 😮, I’m sorry too say, not everyone can afford a Jackery??? The most you expect is a hot water Bottle. 😢😢❤❤
Happy birthday
That's a rather purdy tent, if I do say so myself. Way prettier, in fact, than those Pomoly tents which everyone and their dugg rant about.
Just ordered the Flextail air pump off your Amazon link. Hope it's worth the money. I'll try to review it on my channel. Another good video brother!!

Happy happy! Are you planning a winter road trip this year with Suzy?
Espresso, chocolate and milk poured over ice.
To you point at 43:30, I recommend the book Bullshit Jobs by David Graeber. Touches on the same concepts. Happy birthday :)
Windy like north wales last few days . 60 mph grr
Ice coffee I think 💬
So weird that you mentioned the Green Forest!!! I was going to ask you if it survived helene..it's such a beautiful place
Surely Mocha Ice is for making Iced Mocha ???
Most likely for iced coffee
The Hangul (Korean, not Japanese) on the package is 모 카 아 이 스, which is basically just a straight transliteration of "Mocha Ice" (pronounced roughly mo ka aye su). It's an iced coffee mix, not really intended to be made hot.
Still asking about the naturehike r8.8 pad lol hopefully he'll see one of these comments
Have you seen the new Fire Maple furnace???
Alright test night
Hi Luke mocha means chocolate
lol, pretty sure he knows that part. It’s the “ice” that is throwing him. I’m wondering if it means it can be used for iced coffee.
Ice coffie
Longest poles ever!!!!!!!!
It's Korean coffee.
Korean coffee.
Mocca ICE in Sweden is pretty much just cold milk you poor the mocca ice powder in. No warm coffe like ice tea but coffe.
Probably can't get to it, but it's a good time of year to go back to the devil's throne. 😄
I thought Luke was going to do a Russian Bear tent episode. Did I miss that or an update regarding it? Thanks
How many hours of filming to you cut out ? 🙃
wheres the snow from the title pic?
the mylar enhances water-proofness AND internal lighting economy. alas, real R-values require thiqqness
I have to ask Lexi what 42 f is in c 😊
23:09 Thumb with head nodding.
[
that Mocha Ice is Korean not Japanese 3 in 1 mix coffee
You know it is still Autumn, right? Winter is only at the end of December.
Where we live, in Bear country, it’s definitely not a good idea to cook your food in the same place you are going to sleep.
Mocha has chocolate, and people call meth "ice." Maybe it's chocolate meth.
Thumping music bad choice on the start of this
I'm not going to lie to you Luke your episodes are getting long and boring, most of the time I skip through most of the episode.
