    I like the concept of a stove through the table.

  • @planetpjr

    I think the stove hole will be tighter in extreme cold, perhaps they made it a bit larger to compensate for metal contraction

    Seems awkward having the control valve on the ground under the table. It and the fuel canister should clip to the table edge for better access.

    Ive seen this stove and other brands that Mount into table. Were used inside a large tent.

    Good stove for $40. A knockoff BRS is 10 to 14 for one jet. Must consume butane quickly though...but I bet you can simmer an egg or bacon much better than one jet. Looks to be the same diameter as the isobutane cans ..so any longer ditty bag or old tube sock will hold both together well.
    The hole in the table I did myself years ago for a Coleman propane bottle top stove. Didn't like the height so I cut a hole in my cook table...drops right in. I approve.

    the O ring is for the adjustment valve. I had a stove similar to moonwalker that needs oring replacement due to leakage issue.

  • @markperry222
    @markperry222 2 місяці тому +1

    Are all the O rings are to pack around the stove when it is in the table hole, to stop it wabbling ?😉
    I like that the pot supports are angled and not horizontal. I guess that this if for the Asian markets, perfect to support a wok. Great for car camping. For those who have not used a wok for camp cooking, it can be much more useful than a flat bottomed pot.

    •  2 місяці тому

      I was thinking the same thing about the O rings. I wonder if they would fit around the nubs that are on th side of the stove and act like spacers or shock absorbers.

  • @nemdub86
    @nemdub86 2 місяці тому +6

    If it had only 3 extensions to stabilize itself, it would never wobble. It’s strange that the gas line is not long enough to work well with their own table and typical gas canister. Would it make sense for them to make a canister holder underneath the table, or to hang it from the side?

    • @owenblount7334
      @owenblount7334 2 місяці тому

      I mean if you have a saw on you with the concave shape of the bottom of the cans you could cut a decent size stick and jam it into the ground underneath the table and sit the can on it

    I like it. My thoughts, #1 I believe it would be faster if you put the lid on the pot. #2 when I watched you put the pot on, it looked like it was stable. #3 I agree with you on the igniter. The “O” rings… maybe it wasn’t supposed to go with it

    when you first showed the table i thought it was for a stove. this is a while back. i went to it's web site and it had the stove shown. so it may have just gone to market now as you said but 2 months ago (or whenever you showed the table) you could get the stove then on it's web site. it even had pictures of how it went in the table.

      It will probably work fine with a std coleman bottle top stove as well...if you don't want to buy a new stove and have one.
      Hole looks just smaller than the size I cut in my own table years ago.

    The burner control needs to be on the burner reaching under the table to adjust heat is akward. Also ia they offered a panel with two holes in it it would be appealing as you could have two stoves in one panel.

    That radical angle of the legs brings the burner gap higher away from a large pan or pot bottom.
    Basically the distance from the tip of the leg to the head of the burner is farther away and thus less fuel efficient for boil or cooking time.
    I like them flat.

    • @STho205
      @STho205 2 місяці тому

      Agreed, but small pots or cups tend to jiggle off-center as they boil. Looks like you need to fold them in for a larger pot which means less stability.
      Neither approach is perfect, so maybe less slant is a good compromise. For $40...bet you could mod it a little with a dremel.

    I was just looking at this stove and wondering if it is worth buying. Too bad it doesn't have any under table mounting to secure the fuel canister or hang the canister upside down (is that advisable for this stove given that it has a preheat tube?). I think for now, I'll just mount a small plastic bag under the hole and use that hole as a small garbage bin.

    I'm just not a fan of canister stoves...I much prefer alcohol stoves with denatured alcohol or wood stoves. But I have to say, by looking at it, if I were ever going to broaden my horizons, this looks like a great entry model. Not being a dinky little thing caught my eye.

    I would wager the reasoning for the supply of additional O-rings is likely do to less than optimal compound (ie. Questionable re. long term reliability for stove use). It is somewhat commonplace for the various outsourced made in China stoves. As to the stove fit to table senario... going with a bit of wiggle room is likely better for this application vs. tighter fit. That said, design wise, manufacture could still have this fit play without as much wobble by additional index points or having rim-like feature to interface with table cut out.

      O ring extras seem to be a recent fad with china offbrands. I just ordered a isobutane fill adapter to refill the small Jetboil cup sized cans for smallcamp. They came with a bunch of extra O rings. I doubt I'll ever need.
      Oh I had to order 5 for $6 to get one cheap....

    Stove wobble is fixable. A piece of wood underneath, to gently support the area, a hammer and a cold chisel, a few taps and you have the drop areas required for keeping the stove from wobbling around. Interesting coffee cup heater if nothing else !
