I miss everything about this era of football. The cameras, camera angles, the light green turf, red endzoned, red helmets, minimal bs from refs, getting to the QB....i I don't think football will ever be as good as it was in the early 90s.
I remember watching this one with my father going back 33 years ago when I was a kid. Man, I love these old classic football games. Really brings me back to some good happy times when the world was cool.
Watched this game with my Dad who's a Raiders fan. But we were in awe of the Bills with that 4th quarter. That Bills team was unstoppable when they got on a roll.
@@strangebotwin- That confused for the longest time. I bought the game when it came out, and with the inclusion of players like Ozzie Newsome and Scott Studwell I knew it used 1990 season rosters. But the schedule didn't match 1990's. Because of the rosters it feels like the 1990 season.
Skip Caray didn't do many football games in his career (and from things he said on Braves games over the years, he didn't really enjoy doing them) but he delivered a spectacular call of the wild fourth quarter of this game.
I got grounded by my dad and as punishment I couldn’t watch my beloved Raiders … had the Raiders won this matchup the AFC Championship would’ve been in LA and the complexity of the game changes and Bo Jackson getting injured against Cincy in the divisional round was another factor … thanks for this !!! What a channel!!!
TNT really did a great job covering the Sunday night games for the first time in 1990. I believe the covered weeks 1-8 (and one Thursday nighter) and ESPN did 9-17. I remember being so excited we had Sunday night action for a full season.
@@tuowl0564 No, the Bills were a buzzsaw. The Raiders could have had 50 Bo Jackson's in the AFC Championship Game, they were still going to get killed by the Bills.
@@ramram349I mean you’re half right. The Raiders and Bills played six times from 1990-1993. Buffalo won four of them, but the AFC title game was the only one they controlled. This game, a fluky 4th quarter stole it, they got a couple of ticky tack calls in the playoff game in 1993 to win by six and had to erase a 13 point 4th quarter deficit in 1991. Raiders really punched them in 1992 (20-3) and Hostetler got em again to save the 93 Raiders in a great regular season game in Buffalo 25-24. The AFC title game really betrayed how even the teams were and how Buffalo’s superior coaching often was the difference.
Wierd isn’t it? This game is one of the best NFL on TNT games ever, along with 95 Cowboys/Vikings, 92 Raiders/Broncos, 94 Chargers/Broncos and Steelers/Cardinals, 96 Bills/Giants and 97 Jets/Patriots
I remember that game well. It really woke the Bills up and pushed them into AFC championship mode for 1990 and the next few years. Great team and great fans!
umm no they're not. They only like a winner, when they missed the playoffs for 18 years in a row those "great fans" wanted the team moved and didn't show up to games. It got so bad that the bills played home games for a couple years IN ANOTHER COUNTRY (Toronto). Yeah great fans there
It's been so long since I've seen this game. Damn we were SO good!! I truly feel that this team was the most complete Bills team to ever take the field. All aspects of the game were elite: Offense, Defense and Special Teams. Just watching how we could quickly put points on the board, defense man-handle and take away opportunities (and balls!) and Special Teams literally changing the results of the game. Special note: Just watching Steve Tasker in action in just ONE game kills me that he's not in the HOF. Shame!!! Thanks for posting this game!! GO BILLS!!

Wat the hell U mean it/the new holds evn less Bills Mafia ?! Lol 😆 One of the best in-person Bills games Ive ever seen ! Id latr see an evn better performance vs Da Raidaz later that yr in the AFC Champ game 51-3..
How is Steve Tasker not in the HOF? Simply the greatest special teams player in the history of the sport. Never failed to effect the outcome of a game.
Even though special teams has always been a critical part of the game, HOF voters have always discounted it. Most likely because special teamers don’t put up glitzy stats like skill position players. Agree Tasker should be a HOF.
Thanks for sharing and one amazing 4th quarter and Go Bills...so close to them starting a new season and hopefully Bills will win the super bowl this year...I got them going 13-4
LA Raiders, that's what I knew starting out. Las Vegas is fine, Oak. too; as long as they are Raiders. But I love LA Raiders the most. How in the hell did Al leave LA, I'll never understand it.
Vin Scully used to call NFL games as well for CBS Sports, from the mid '70s to the early 80's. He was the play-by-play during the 1981 MFC Championshipship w) Hank Stram.
And Doc Emrick was a lower-level CBS announcer in their last couple of years before losing the NFC to FOX. In a weird bit of trivia, Emrick was the announcer for Brett Favre's first start as a Packer.
1:14:47 I randomly went to this spot saw this play like dayum I thought it was incomplete also but that was half his helmet flying lol, shit you won't see in today's game

He did the first two years of the NFL on TNT. But in '91 he had to miss the Braves' NL West pennant-clincher, the climax of their worst-to-first comeback, and decided he wanted to stick with baseball. Skip also called Hawks basketball on TBS in the '80s. I'm not sure if he did NBA on TNT, but his colleague Pete Van Wieren did.
TNT sunday night football didn't know that. Of course I wasn't in to watching sports at the time. I was eleven and outside playing sports or playing Nintendo, Genesis, and Turbo graphics 16. Yep the better days for bills fans. Don't have much hope this year. Keeping expectations in check.
What, when Marcus moved to fullback to block for Bo? Marcus Allen was the heart & soul of the Raiders for 11 years despite AL Davis going goofy & trying to sabotage his career
This is the year Al Davis’ Raiders got whooped 51-3 in Buffalo & the Bills got spanked in the Super Bowl NOSTALGIA 😂 I was & am STILL a huge fan of Marcus Allen.Marcus is the embodiment of Commitment to Excellence

Same. I was 9 years old.
Man finally. I've been searching this game for years. Thanks. Forgotten gem. Awesome 4th quarter.
This game and Giants/49ers on MNF are the games I will always remember from this season
This game ending up deciding home field advantage in the playoffs.
This was a statement game. That whatever you want to do in the AFC - your road to Superbowl goes through Buffalo for half a decade.
Any time I see a game or read something from the 1990 NFL season, I always think of 90 as the Tecmo Super Bowl season.
The player attribute are based on ‘90, but the schedule in the game is the ‘91 season

One of the things I remember most about this game is Skip’s call on the blocked punt. “They’ve done it again! They’ve done it again!!” Just perfect!

Tragedy for the Raiders - we had a very good team in this era (especially when we picked up The Hoss) but we just did not match up well v these Bills.

1990 was an exciting season for the Bills. The only thing missing was a Super bowl win.
Seeing Norwood on the side lines a and I'm wishing it was Steve Christie instead lol.

Absolutely correct.
Trust me, the excuse everyone keeps making as to why he “shouldn’t” be in the HOF, would piss you off.
I used to live the "Nitro" Sunday Night game on TNT.

Bo Jackson would’ve been perfect for this game
So true. It has completely lost its soul.
