@@jamesroberts1810 Yea agreed. They got blown out of every other Superbowl but this was probably the only year in their history where they were legitimately the best team in the league. Levy, as great as he was, simply got outcoached by Parcells and Belichick. That, plus some bad luck, lead to the one SB loss they've should've won.
One hour before that game, head coach Bud Carson benched Bernie Kosar in favor of Mike Pagel as the Bills wallopped the Browns 42-0. The next day, Bud Carson was fired as the Bye Week started. Carson started 2-7. Jim Shofner replaced him as the Browns' interim head coach who went 1-6.
My first NFL game ever at age 24. The temperature dropped significantly during the game as thick clouds rolled in off the lake. Bud Carson's last game as Browns' Head Coach. We left early. There were so many Bill's fans there that the stadium still roared when they scored...again, and again, and again. Gotta love the sure hands of Brian Brennan though. Always short sleeves and no gloves.
You are correct. It didn't make any difference though - they went 1-6 the rest of the way and weren't much more competitive than they were here. There was nothing that could have salvaged this team.
This Browns team was an unmitigated disaster; they were the worst team ever in the original iteration of the Cleveland franchise. They lost games 34-0, 42-0, 58-14 and 35-0 and had a negative -234 point differential for the season, which was actually far worse than their 2017 team that went 0-16.
It's so strange watching these games now - that for old guys like me doesn't seem that long ago, where they don't show the score on the screen. Trust me, I'm NO fan of the constant and annoying incessant crawl at the bottom updating all the statistics for the damn fantasy football ish, but the score is nice to see on the screen these days.
Steve Tasker should be in the Hall of Fame.
This Bills team was so good, it's a shame they couldn't win the Super Bowl this year.
Facts ....i was a diehard bills/ oilers fan growing up here in houston... the first superbowl was the best chance to win one

Thanks for uploading those classic Bills games. Go Bills!

The current Bills team has been a big disappointment. Thank God these games have been uploaded to UA-cam.
I think I remember Bud Carson getting fired after this game. I might be wrong though.
