Would you want to pay for every beat just to have it on Spotify for a .01% chance that it blows up? Personally I'd rather have a "free for profit" beat, and if it blows up then we can work out the details of me purchasing or a split

yeah thats a good point. i agree producers should more often take film into consideration. one thing i would be careful about with using it for film though: some "free for profit" beats may be sold to someone exclusively at a later date. if this happens, the person who has now bought the license may flag your film for copyright if it includes the beat. personally, i dont sell exclusive beats to the same beats that people have used for free to try to avoid this, but it's certainly a possibility with other producers :) cheers, best of luck in your film endeavors

Typically my worry is license expiry. Though i just got a beat pack with an unlimited license has a 1000 year license length. I don't think it'll be an issue with that one in question
