    I notice if I become too attached to the future it takes away from the present moment. I think its a balance of being present in the moment and then taking action and having a desire for progression. Great video Leo.

    • @zeedo666
      @zeedo666 7 років тому +14

      I think desire is still a bad thing. We should just do things without desiring their bringing us whatever at all. The word "progression" in itself is a trap because it forces you to make comparison. When you compare, you judge, when you judge you're fucked.

      then you are linked with the wrong quotes and you got the wrong idea because its about living the present more and just let things go by focusing on what you want not what the external world gives you the idea what you want. pushing yourself is like the super ego telling you what you should do and that makes you even feel worse. its really simple : live present its something so simpel yet so hard for some people.

    Sometimes getting what you need is the best way to understand that you don't need it at all to be happy.
    For me it often works this way

  • @UnEquEl
    @UnEquEl 8 років тому +76

    This is so true, the problem will never go away until you address it specifically.
    For example: You're worried about people not liking you.
    Result: You put on a fake persona to be liked. (Meanwhile deep inside you are not happy because you know you're faking it and kills you slowly cause you aren't truly happy even though you practically got what you wanted - acceptance.)
    To truly fix the problem you need to let go of the belief that you are not a likable person and just let go of the thought in general that you are not a likable person and eliminate it from your reality in general. Release the need to be accepted internally and just do 'you' instead.

    It took me 6 or 7 LONG roads of success to realize that when you get there you brought "you" with you, and it still sucks :) There is nothing wrong with success per se, but it won't make you happy the way you think it will. What makes you unhappy is not your lack of success, it is your need for success in the first place. Please love yourself right now (this takes actual work; work that feels both tiring and scary... with a typical upbringing you don't have the tools to love yourself yet... Leo is a great start)

    You hit it on the target again! Now when I think about it, I succeed more when I don't even stress about something! I succeed more when I have the balls to actually face an issue and fail until I succeed at it. It's very easy to mask a problem, it's extremely hard to admit you did the wrong thing and learn it the right way. Well said.

    So true! In my younger years,I had huge eating problems ( even with no weight gain) and tried everything, from dieting, to crazy exercising, to fasten to other fancy stuff. One day, I realized that I ate to cover unpleasant feelings; once I knew I had to feel them and not avoid them, eating problems vanished. I am healthy and fit, enjoy every meal and let myself feel bad feeling as well, when they show up!

    Real growth isn't about changing who you are. It's about discovering who is the real you, by doing deep inner work and slowly letting your gentle light of your true self come out again. It's about changing and removing from your life and personality all the things you are not.
    There isn't a single reason to be scared of the resolt of the change, because your core stays the same. You are just letting yourself to be who you are. The real you instead of the former fake you.

    This path of deep transformational growth I have started a couple years ago when I started a gap year after high school graduation. Most of this time my intuition has told me that this is important so I have disconnected from the external world a lot more to then reprogram myself on my own terms. Now I am at a stage where I am slowly re-integrating into the "external world" by going to college and soon a job. I have learned many things but most of them I can't put to words as clearly as you have put here because they are more of a feeling. This video helped me put more words to why I am where I am and why I am doing what I am doing. I am faced with more controversy about what I have been doing and am still doing when I talk to more people, which calls for a more strongly defined explanation of what I am doing, to not get sucked into their perception of me. Thanks for this video, and I am so grateful that I have followed my intuition (and plan to continue) ^_^

    You're so talking about me! I've known for some time that I'm a realization junkie. I also know that sooner or later I'll fail once the temporary high that comes with that realization fades. I habitually get disappointed in myself because deep down I see myself as a failure, and sooner or later that "truth" that I know about myself reasserts itself and fulfills that habit of disappointment and failure when the realization inevitably doesn't fundamentally change my life and my bad habits because I haven't accepted a true change in who I know myself to be. The idea of letting go of who I know myself to be, to literally change myself and the habits and emotions that I think of as the core of who I am is so revolutionary to me that it scares me! Almost as if I'd be taking a knife and slitting my own throat. Then I realized that if I change my thinking and choose to no longer see myself as this weak failure and disappointment, no longer know myself as someone who lives into these fears and weaknesses because that's who I truly believe I am, then what have I really given up? A part of me doesn't die, because those are beliefs, not who I am! How can I ever truly change unless I'm willing to let that mindset die? I'm a firm believer in the power of forgiveness. Forgiveness has truly changed my life, but I believe it has taken me as far as it can with my present mindset and habits. Endlessly forgiving me for being weak makes that weakness easier to live with, but it's also reinforcing it as a part of me and something I must accept rather than change. Mind BLOWN! Anyway, can I really just turn away from a lifetime of negative programming? Time, I'm sure, will tell. Thank you for your videos and website. You have definitely given me much to think about!

    I am 20 years old, this last year I have looked at life completely different, Ive found my inner sanity and I have realized life is about doing what is right and following your heart, by following my heart ive found the ability to change into a more compassionate, understanding, empethetic human being, ive found my true aspirations, but ive also found that noone is even close to perfect, we have to continually progress in our hearts and minds daily!!! It is necessary to accept change if we wish to become our potentials, it can all be so simple, my advice for you, follow your heart my friends. Once you realize if its possible for one, its possible for me!!! I was once in a dark place, but my desire to change guided me into the light, the past is irrelevant, im better than ever baby, but im not done yet, Im going to be the worlds most profound program developer, I want to inspire others to create and follow their hearts, im telling you, once you follow your heart and let go of all these negative thoughts of judgment and rejection, something happens inside of you, you become a better person, you grow, and by being yourseld, it gives others confidence to grow aswell, we are on this earth to spread love and help each other become aware to the inevitable reality that we can all attain through a little determination and alot of willpower

    I came to realize most of what you talked about from my recent personal experience, and that made me think like man I wish I listened to him earlier, but reality is if I came across this earlier, I wouldn't have listened 5 minutes into it. Yet I still wish all my loved ones would listen to it.

    True growth really is unglamorous and takes lots of patience. The result is often an arbitrary moment when you strangely realize a significant difference in the people and happenings around you, without feeling you have put in massive effort. Hope I understood it correctly.

    Leo what are you're thoughts on psychotherapy? Isn't the right kind of psychotherapy one of the best tools to overcome "root issues"? Why don't you speak about it much at all even though many of you're videos seem to speak about issues that psychotherapy could heal?

    The reason why real change is difficult is because it requires you to deal with emotions that come from the subconscious. It requires you to accept negative emotions and not run away from them. Many people would seek a quick fix over having to deal with negative and uncomfortable emotions. However if you can just accept a negative emotion instead of letting it control your actions, it eventually fades away and stops coming up under similar circumstances. At that point you've changed.

  • @ncb1003

    Great message, Leo. It's as simple as accepting, embracing, and extending our God-given gifts, talents, and strengths, rather than looking for approval outside ourselves through achievement, control, and power. We just need to accept our God-given love on the inside, and allow it to extend out into the world. Simple, just not easy...

    THANK YOU!!!! I've really been trying to live this. And I think in general, I do. But I've been trying to work on one thing in particular the past couple months, and the past week and a half or so, I feel myself really slipping into this idea of "fake growth." And I know I'm doing it. I see it. I know where the real growth would take place. But goddammit; it's so hard sometimes. Thank you for the reminder and the push in the right direction.

    Hi, Leo!
    I have watched almost all your videos in Actualized.com. Honestly, I just want to say: you do a great work picking up serious topics and suggesting unique approaches of dealing with them. This is powerful. This is worth doing it.
    You stimulate to see the world in its whole diversity. You ideas are profound, mature, wise, compact and inspiring. Your passion to learning such complicated issues allows to identify and afterwards to realize human potential. To feel the life.
    The ways you deliberately analyzed the palpitating human beings' mental and emotional problems and shared with people make me think completely in a different way: considerably deeper not being satisfied with top-iceberg answers.
    There are so many inner and external stereotypes, that rule our lives... With your help, I systematically eliminate the shit and the adverse effects of ego out of my life.
    The first time I saw your video I said: this skinny and bald egg-head man seems to be so miserable and incompetent. I was totally wrong. You are highly mature, you are highly developed.
    It is interesting to what extent you implement your concepts beyond the camera and black t-shirt. Not theoretical aspect, but in real life. Skill, practice, dealing with reacting environment.
    Let me ask you:
    Are you happy?
    I know that it is so general question and the answer is mainly depended on the concrete situation and daily feelings. but though, Leo, are you happy?

    Shouldn't one do both? Work at the inner. But then finding what we truly like to do and then doing this. That would be external growth but from an internal space of Love. Otherwise one would just do nothing all day long and be happy.
    I think this is one of the paradoxes that exist in life.
    I would really like to hear your thaughts on this Leo. I guess not just I struggle with this point.
    Once you are free of everything, what do then. The way I think now is you find what you truly love to do and you just do it.
    Thank you for the content Leo :)

    • @shitmandood
      @shitmandood 8 років тому

      +IceCrasher That's impossible. If you did nothing all day long you would not be happy. You might be for a few days or weeks if you needed space apart from some activity. Just look at people on welfare. They don't have to do anything, but do they look happy? Hell no. You're body is built in such a way that it has to have activity & stimulation.

    • @ActualizedOrg
