I was honestly devastated they cancelled this show. It was by far the best series about Dracula I've ever seen
Gosh, the way they look at each other and how their movements get more intense as they continue to dance. Chills. I wish they continued with the show, Netflix could've picked it up, but no. Still the best Dracula show I've seen. ♥️
Couldn't agree more about that. And about the dance. How they started so far apart and gradually drew closer together, like magnets. Couldn't stay away from each other if they tried! So romantic!!!

Mina looked forlorn, warm, as if her insides had turned into mush. Lucy looked distressed and heartbroken. Alexander looked focused, all in, and engulfed by Mina. And then there is poor sweet handsome Harker. He looked like he just-got-a-clue, humiliated fool.
I'm surprised he had the guts to cut in. I would have walked out.
This scene is one of the most beautiful scenes Iv ever seen in a show , So beautifully choreographed and casted , The look on everyone’s faces when they see how natural and familiar Alexander and Mina movements are together,❤️ Another great show gone before it’s time but there’s like zillion seasons of Grey Antomy and every CSI spin off we didn’t even want , I gave up on hope of ever getting any kind of quality show to watch 🤷🏻♀️
I keep coming back to watch iit. Everyone there sees it. Got to give props to the fiancé, I would’ve walked out but he hit the reset button.

Its clear what quality went into this show but unforgivable that it only had one season
I love how this scene plays out. The way, they slowly get to remember each others past, how with each segment of the music they danced to , they got more intense , the more they danced into their old worlds. How time stopped. Dracula slowly , but with elegant touch, danced his hands to minas neck, then mina imatated him. and the way he postioned his hands romantically across minas waist. As if he were finally reunited with his wife. You see that towards the end when Jonathan interupts and it was as if he didn't want to be seperated from her again. And drucular had a violent vision when he slit his throat as if the order had tried to seperate them again.
In my opinion I think, thats why they composed this song for this particular scene. Because now all the chess pieces align. Their suspicions on who this mysterious man could be and why he was so interested in mina in particular and johnathan. And the question to who dracular really loved. And how he played devils advocant by accepting the dance proposal , johnathan had gifted with the woman who Alexander truly loved. Which reveals his true feelings; that Alexander Grayson loves mina to the order. Which is what the crazed woman investigator/ interegator was trying to find out.
Futhermore, I think this song also goes pefectly to the foreshadowing of the events leading up to this scene perfectly, from their first meeting, where he asks renfield to find out who johnathan and mina are, to Alexanders's old friends sacrifice to protect mina ( as he knows minas true identify) and his secret to become closer with the very people who he plans to destory within. And to trick his very nemisis. Lady Jayne Wetherby who was the orders most powerful weapon. So Which the devil plays tricks and since he became a devil or to the order, a vampire is a devil. As he said: the only way to stop the order was to take out their most powerful weapon. Theres so much more I could say but I don't to put so much on a post. I will do a blog about this very soon, as I have become rather obessed with this movie now. :D But to summerise this song tells a story of love, death , reunification and trickery in my opinion.

Its 2024 and i still cant believe we didnt get an ending to this. Ive lost count of the sleepless nights ive wasted wondering what plan jonathan had planned for s2 and how dracula and mina's relationship would evolve.

I was nervous for them watching the dance then it turned out to be something romantically beautiful, the Idea of a man who is in love with a woman for over 400 years and meeting her twice in his lifetime is in itself mesmerising, that’s why I was obsessed with this series from the get go to cancel it is such a crime !!

Haunting score in this scene … the beauty of the music (especially as it transitions with the mood of the movements) and the dark allure of the vampire makes this very rewatchable

I'll tell you why. Because some people don't know great shows when they see them, watch them! So blind!
Well you can't watch somehting you don't know exist. Poor marketing was a factor. And 2 for those who were aware of it, they probably didn't think it was going to be interesting because it's Dracula on NBC. There have been loads of Dracula depictions so the story has gotten stale and even cheesy to some people. Many weren't aware of the new take. And critics also weren't very nice in their reviews. So for some people who may have been researching to find out if it was worth watching and went to read reviews or recaps of it, they were turned off by it. Not to mention it was during the time when TVD and other vampire stuff was at a high and absorbing fan attention even though some of those other works didn't deserve the support they got as many were letting their fanbase down hard and even insulting them. Perhaps if it was HBO or FX or one of those channels that released it people would have also had a different take on it. NBC had Hannibal which was a flawless masterpiece of a show and they cancelled that too. They don't do well with certain ype of shows. Grimm was lucky to have lasted as long as it did.

@@yasmilnicolejimenez8654 In the original story written by Bram Stoker Mina is targeted by Dracula but dracula is slain by Van Helsing and Lucy's three men of interest (her fiance and the other two who were interested in her). There is no ending together with Mina in the original book. A friend of mine told me about another book that was released after Stoker's death which included some different things but I never read it. The original story definitely doesn't have a romantic ending between Dracula and Mina
Their story is very well written in this series. All the clmplicated emotions and the background info etc. Yes I think a great number of people who watched the series want them to end up together

I've been trying to find the answer since I first heard it on the series. I know that it's a take from Time by Hans Zimmer for sure. I think it was only a piece and not a full song.

Why would you gift someone a dance with your fiance? Dracula should have said, no. Clearly Mina wasn't comfortable.
It is possible it could have been considered rude or an insult to Harker and Mina to refuse. There used to be all sorts of weird "rules" regarding the giving of gifts, especially one in a personal situation like this. Harker felt he had nothing material that he could present Grayson that would be sufficient so he offered something that only Grayson would ever have. The first dance with his fiance.
It would've been nice to know how this show would have ended. I'm guessing Dracula would have succeeded taking out the New Order but Mina - would she have become his immortal bride or would he have died again? Maybe because she is in the medical field that she would've found a cure for him to be unharmed by the sun? Ugh so many questions running through my head 🤔😔

The show is from 2013 it's been 11 years. The chance of getting a second season is beyond dead, unfortunately. Just as u I also wanted it but it will most likely never happen unless it gets a reboot but even then, it wouldn't be the same.

Season two would have to have the same cast, but the chances of that happening are low. That is why I am not demanding a second season. Though I do wish we could know what happens next.
